McKendry Samantha McKendry and Jason Poraczky were married Nov. 5, 2005, in Covenant Presbyterian Church, Sharon, by the Rev. Tom Willcox.

The bride is a daughter of John and Kim Gump, Sharon, and Bill and Trudy McKendry, Hermitage.

Parents of the bridegroom are Joe and Kathy Poraczky, Johnstown.

Matron of honor was Jenn Valentine, Johnstown. Maid of honor was Missy Schneider, Washington, D.C. Bridesmaids were Amanda Poraczky, Johnstown, groom's sister; Kim Kunkle, Charlotte, N.C., bride's future sister-in-law; Jen Fisher, New Florence, Pa.; Amy Vrobel, Brookville, Pa.; Ashley Pantall, Mount Holly, N.J., bride's cousin; and Nikki Hill, South Riding, Va. Best man was Bill Hanik, Johnstown. Groomsmen were Will McKendry, Charlotte, bride's brother; Brett McKendry, Hermitage, bride's brother; Adam Popchak, Towson, Md.; Rick Plunkard, Spotsylvania, Pa.; and Mike Plunkard, Jeff Conahan and Joel Valentine, all Johnstown. Alexis Ferguson, Cincinnati, bride's cousin, and Makaylynn Poraczky, Johnstown, groom's niece, were flower girls. Tyler Poraczky, Johnstown, groom's brother, was ring bearer.

Readers were Carita Ferguson, bride's aunt, and Judy Smith, groom's cousin.

Tracy Apa was soloist. Penny Kraynak was pianist and Michelle Krouse was organist.

A reception was held at the Radisson Hotel of Sharon in Shenango Township.

After a cruise to the Southern Caribbean, including stops in San Juan, St. Thomas, St. Maarten, St. Lucia, Barbados and Antigua, the newlyweds live in Ashburn, Va. They are graduates of Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Mrs. Poraczky is employed by Northrop Grumman, Reston, Va.

Her husband is a seventh-grade special education teacher in Clifton, Va.
