Mr. and Mrs. Eugene N. Applegate, Warren, Ohio, formerly of Greenville, announce the engagement of their daughter, Renae Ruth, to Brenton Shawn House.

The prospective bridegroom is a son of Colea House, Perkinston, Miss., and the late John "Bunyon" House. Miss Applegate graduated from Geneva College, Beaver Falls; Slippery Rock University; and State University of New York at Albany. She is a doctoral candidate and full-time visiting English professor at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Her fiance is a published poet and graduate of William Carey College and Georgia State College and University. He is an assistant English professor at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion.

A June wedding is planned.
