Today's obituaries Angeline DeSantis Angeline DeSantis, Countryside Convalescent Home, East Lackawannock Township, died Tuesday (12-19-00) in United Community Hospital, Pine Township. She was 90. Obituary information was incomplete.
DeSANTIS Frank J. DeVault Worked as packager with Clinch-Tite in Sandy Lake FRANKLIN -- Frank J. DeVault, 750 15th St., died at 7:35 a.m. Tuesday (12-19-00) in a car accident on U.S. Route 62 in Sandy Lake Township. He was 33. Mr. DeVault was born Oct. 13, 1967, at Columbus (Miss.) Air Force Base, to Joseph W. and Shirley A. Getty DeVault. He was a packager for Clinch-Tite in Sandy Lake. Mr. DeVault was a member of Lakeview United Methodist Church, Sandy Lake Township. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and the outdoors. Mr. DeVault also enjoyed fixing cars, playing pool, cooking and attending races. Surviving are: his wife, the former Donna J. Kauffman, whom he married Dec. 6; his father, Reiham, Germany; his stepfather, Lee Stewart Sr., and his mother, Sandy Lake; a son, Byron W.; and a daughter, Brittany L. DeVault, both Barkeyville; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Richard (Lorri) Gwillim, Mrs. Jason (Dawn) Shiner and Mrs. Jeremy (Ciara) Domres, all Franklin; three brothers, Jeffery A. DeVault, Pittsburgh; Lee Stewart Jr., Franklin; and Douglas Stewart, Maryland; and two sisters, Dawn L. Stewart, Montgomery, Ala.; and Mrs. Frank (Cheryl A.) Krizinsky, Polk. DeVAULT Gladys Goodrick Gladys Goodrick, 70 Meadowbrook Road, Hermitage, died at 3:40 a.m. today (12-20-00) in UPMC Horizon, Farrell. She was 96. Obituary information was incomplete.
GOODRICK Bernice L. Greco Grove City High School alumna was avid bingo player UTICA, Pa. -- Bernice L. Greco, Utica, died Tuesday morning (12-19-00) in Northwest Medical Center, Franklin, after a short illness. She was 52. Mrs. Greco was born May 3, 1948, in Grove City to Stanley and Virginia Covert. The Grove City High School alumna attended Triumphant Church, Franklin. She was an avid bingo player. Surviving are: her husband, Louis Greco, whom she married Sept. 2, 1972; her mother, Grove City; a son, Louis II, Utica; a daughter, April Murphy, Seneca, Pa.; three brothers, Joe and Bob Covert, both Grove City; and Skip Covert, Harrisville; a sister, Virginia Hogan, Orlando, Fla.; and five grandchildren.

HELLER Eileen M. Furey Tobias Was active in community, with St. Joseph Church Funeral Mass will be Saturday (12-23-00) for Eileen M. Furey Tobias, 402 Smith Ave., Sharon. She died at 8:03 p.m. Sunday (12-17-00) in the emergency room of the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 71. Mrs. Tobias was born April 19, 1929, to William J. Furey Sr. and Gertrude M. Steines Furey. She graduated from St. Joseph's School, Sharon, and in 1947 from Sharon High School. Mrs. Tobias was a homemaker and was an insurance clerk during World War II in the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp. She was a receptionist during the 1970s and 1980s in the Hermitage office of Dr. Peter L. DeSantis. Mrs. Tobias was an active member of St. Joseph Church. The pastoral facilitator for small church community sang with the church's choir and belonged to the Women's Guild and former Sodality Group. She belonged to Cursillo of Mercer County and American Association of Retired Persons Hermitage Chapter 3616. Mrs. Tobias was a scout leader for Penn Lakes Girl Scout Council in Sharon, where she was the Girl Scout cookie chairman for many years. She was active with Parent- Teacher Associations at St. Joseph's School and Sharon City School District, where she was past president. Mrs. Tobias was a former volunteer with Internal Revenue Service in Sharon, and was a literacy volunteer at Shenango Valley Community Library, Sharon. She enjoyed playing cards with Crippled Children's Bridge Club Shenango Valley; and Sharon Duplicate Bridge Club at F.H. Buhl Club, Sharon, where she was a member. Surviving are: her husband, Andrew S. Tobias, whom she married May 26, 1951; two daughters, Mrs. James S. (Annette M.) Grande, Rowlett, Texas; and Judith L. Tobias-Delaney, wife of Thomas R. Delaney, Ballwin, Mo.; and one brother, Thomas J. Furey, Ravenna, Ohio. A brother, William J. Furey Jr., preceded her in death. Memorial contributions may be made to ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) of Western Pennsylvania Chapter, 1323 Forbes Ave., Suite 200, Pittsburgh 15219.
TOBIAS Anthony M. Kurcon Sr. Retired after 35 years as rigger with Sharon Steel Anthony M. Kurcon Sr., 702 French St., Farrell, died at 5:40 p.m. Tuesday (12-19-00) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. He was 78. Mr. Kurcon was born April 28, 1922, in Farrell to Joseph and Blanche Michnowski. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army, and served in Europe during World War II Mr. Kurcon retired April 1, 1983, after 35 years as a rigger in Sharon Steel's maintenance department. He was a member of St. Adalbert Church, Farrell, and its men's club and cemetery crew. Surviving are: his wife, the former Irene Dunder, whom he married July 6, 1948; a son, Anthony M. Jr., Hermitage; a daughter, Mrs. Larry (Patricia) McDaniel, San Diego; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Stella Kosciolek and Frances Gorski; and two brothers, Peter and Michael, preceded him in death.
KURCON Lucille B. Orchard Georgia resident formerly lived in Wampum, Sharpsville WINTERVILLE, Ga. -- Lucille B. Orchard, Winterville Retirement Center, formerly of Wampum and Sharpsville, died at 3:01 p.m. Monday (12-18-00) in St. Mary's Hospital, Athens, Ga. She was 84. Mrs. Orchard was born March 14, 1916, in Crawford County.She lived for a number of years in Wampum before moving to Athens, Ga. The homemaker was a member of St. Gregory the Great Episcopal Church, Athens. Mrs. Orchard formerly was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Sharon. Her husband, William J. Orchard, who had worked at the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp., preceded her in death. Surviving are: two sons, John L., Pawleys Island, S.C.; and Robert W., Athens, both Sharon High School alumni; a sister, Phyllis Burris, Redwood City, Calif.; and a grandchild. Memorial services will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Gregory Building Fund, 3195 Barnett Shoals Road, Athens 30605. Robert 'Duke' and Mary Lew Ryan Bell retiree, homemaker belonged to Holy Trinity Robert "Duke" and Mary Lew Ryan, 17 Davidson Ave., Greenville, formerly of 25 Geotsch Road, Sugar Grove Township, both died at 5:48 p.m. Monday (12-18-00) in a traffic accident in Delaware Township. Mr. Ryan was 70. Mrs. Ryan was 69. Mr. Ryan was born Sept. 18, 1930, in Pittsburgh to Robert and Estella Feldman Ryan. Mrs. Ryan was born April 19, 1931, in Pittsburgh, to John H. and Margaret L. (Frey) Meyer. Mr. Ryan was a retired master sergeant with the U.S. Air Force Reserves. He retired in December 1992 after 40 years as a service technician with Bell of Pennsylvania Telephone. Mrs. Ryan was a homemaker and a former member of Order of the Eastern Star, Greenville Chapter 63. Mr. Ryan was a member, and past master of Free and Accepted Masons Eureka Lodge 290, Greenville and Scottish Rite's New Castle Consistory. He was a volunteer at UPMC Horizon, Greenville. Both were members of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Greenville. They were married July 12, 1952. The Ryans are survived by a son, Craig A., East McKeesport, Pa.; a daughter, Jeannine M. Wieland, Sharpsville; and a grandson.
