Today's obituaries Alfred S. Ruth Sr. Alfred S. Ruth Sr., 2309 Lynnwood Drive, Hermitage, died Monday (3-26-01) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. He was 74. Obituary information was incomplete.
RUTH Paul Peter Soros Sr. Born in Hungary, Greenville man was Sharon Steel retiree Paul Peter Soros Sr., 70 Hilltop Road, Greenville, died at 2:21 p.m. Sunday (3-25-01) in his home. He was 89. Mr. Soros was born June 14, 1911, in Hungary to George and Julianne Soros. He retired after 22 years of service from the former Sharon Steel Corp.'s Farrell plant. Mr. Soros was a member of Holy Trinity Church in Farrell. Surviving are: his wife, the former Magdolna "Maggie" Szabo, whom he married Jan. 8, 1944; three sons, Paul P. Soros Jr., Greenville; George A. Soros, Harts-town; and Robert J. Soros, Fredonia; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a granddaughter, Kasidy Soros. Memorial contributions may be made to Home Health Care Hospice Program, 110 N. Main St., Greenville 16125.
SOROS Thomas R. Muller Ex-Pittsburgh man lived in Grove City, was machinist Thomas R. Muller, Grove City, formerly of Pittsburgh, died Saturday (3-24-01) in his home. He was 39. Mr. Muller was born Dec. 31, 1961, in Pittsburgh, the son of Bertha A. Helbling Muller and the late Edward R. Muller. He was a machinist. Mr. Muller was a member of American Legion Post 584 in Springfield Township. Surviving are: Teri Walochik, to whom he was a beloved fiancé, Grove City; a daughter, Jennifer Muller; his mother, Avalon, Pa.; two brothers, Edward R. Muller III, North Side of Pittsburgh; and David M. Muller, North Huntingdon, Pa.; and nieces, a nephew and a great-nephew.
MULLER Patricia DiSalvo Greenville homemaker was member of St. Michael's Mass of Christian burial will be Thursday for Patricia DiSalvo, 9 Penn Ave., Greenville. She died at 2:30 a.m. Monday (3-26-01) in UPMC Horizon, Greenville. She was 86. Mrs. DiSalvo was born June 5, 1914, in New Castle to Joseph and Rosalie Sunseri Tomasello. She attended New Castle schools. A homemaker, Mrs. DiSalvo was a member of St. Michael's Church, Greenville. She also belonged to Women of the Moose Lodge 276; and was a past member of the Italian Home Club Women's Auxiliary, both Greenville. Mrs. DiSalvo enjoyed cooking, dancing and traveling. Her husband, Dominick DiSalvo Sr., whom she married July 14, 1939, died Feb. 20, 1972. Surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Anita) Clark, Port Charlotte, Fla.; a son, Ross J. DiSalvo, Greenville; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Dominick DiSalvo Jr.; a sister, Marie Brasile; and two brothers, Samuel and Emilio Tomasello. DiSALVO Mary A. Trimble Homemaker was member of Sharpsville Women's Club Mary A. Trimble, 964 Mayfield Road, formerly of Fourth Avenue, both Sharpsville, passed away at 9:30 a.m. Monday (3-26-01) in Clepper Manor in Sharon of natural causes. She was 87. Mrs. Trimble was born Feb. 24, 1914, in Sharon, the daughter of Homer and Edna Jones Dute. She was a 1932 alumna of Sharon High School. A homemaker, Mrs. Trimble belonged to First Baptist Church in Sharpsville. For more than 50 years, she belonged to Sharpsville Women's Club, for which she served as a past president. Mrs. Trimble was a former member of Order of the Eastern Star. Her husband, Robert B. Trimble, whom she married on Oct. 9, 1936, passed away on Oct. 21, 1960. Surviving are: a daughter, Roberta L. Dunn, Sharpsville; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 185 Union St., Sharpsville 16150.
TRIMBLE Mary C. Pitonyak St. Bernadette's member worked at Valley View store Funeral Mass will be Thursday for Mary C. Pitonyak, 7813 First St., Masury. She died at 8:30 p.m. Saturday (3-24-01) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System after an extended illness. She was 85. Mrs. Pitonyak was born July 28, 1915, in Hubbard to John and Anna Vogt Knapik. For 19 years, she was employed by the former Valley View Department Store in Brookfield, where she was a department manager of Housewares. As a member of St. Bernadette's Church in Masury, she belonged to the Altar Rosary Society; Ladies Prayer Group; and was very active with church functions. She enjoyed baking, gardening, and making bead Christmas ornaments. Her husband, Stephen D. Pitonyak, whom she married in June of 1941, died Oct. 19, 1973. Surviving are: a son, Donald Pitonyak, Masury; three sisters, Helen Rusbacky and Pauline Kalman, both Hubbard; and Mildred Kudelko, Sharon; three grandchildren, Tracy Godoy, Shelley Myers and Jason Pitonyak; and three great-grandchildren, Dillon, Tyler and Kylan Pitonyak. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Ann Choppa and Margaret Lawrence; two brothers, Joseph and John Knapik; and a great-granddaughter, Isabella Godoy. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Bernadette Church, 7807 Locust St. SE, Masury 44438.
