Today's obituaries Richard 'Rick' A. Myers Sharpsville High alumnus was self-employed contractor Richard "Rick" A. Myers, 413 N. Oakland Ave., Sharon, died of natural causes at 9:56 p.m. Friday (7-13-01) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. He was 48. Mr. Myers was born June 13, 1953, in Sharon to Harry and Betty Clark Myers. He was a self-employed contractor and previously was a salesman for industrial supplies. Mr. Myers was a Protestant. He belonged to Eight Point Hunting Club, Tionesta, Pa., and was an avid fisher, boater, camper, spectator sport fan and pet lover. Mr. Myers was a 1971 Sharpsville High School graduate. Surviving are: his companion, Karen Pauley, Sharon; his former wife, Gail Myers, Sharpsville; a daughter, Tracey L. Myers, Sharpsville; two sons, Jason M. Myers and Kyle M. Myers, both Sharpsville; his parents, Sharpsville; and a sister, Mrs. Robert (Lynn) Van Horn, Sharpsville. His grandparents preceded him in death.
MYERS Pauline M. (Dirgo) Farkas Sharon woman was retired as aide with Sharon hospital Pauline M. (Dirgo) Farkas, 293 Euclid Ave., Sharon, died at 7:53 p.m. Friday (7-13-01) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System after an extended illness. She was 73. Mrs. Farkas was born Feb. 23, 1928, in Nome, Alaska, to Napoleon and Bessie Aleosick Bergamaschi. She retired as a nurses aide in the 1960s with the former Sharon General Hospital. Mrs. Farkas also had worked as a private sitter for many years. She was madame chaplain for the Women's Auxillary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 327, Sharon. Mrs. Farkas enjoyed sewing, baking and crocheting. She was a member of Oakland Avenue United Methodist Church, Sharon. She was preceded in death by her husbands, George Dirgo and Michael Farkas Jr. Surviving are: four daughters, Marilyn (Dirgo) Lacey, wife of Gerald, Masury; Anita (Dirgo) Esmond, wife of Carl Jr., Transfer; Margaret Rufenacht and Michelle (Farkas) Palmer, wife of James, both Sharon; three sons, Michael G. Dirgo, husband of Michelle, Harrisburg; James Dirgo, husband of Margorie, Sharon; and John Bahnke, Anchorage, Alaska; a niece, Cathy Bergamaschi-Earnshaw, Nome; three granddaughters, Ginger Lacey, Carrie Harding and Brittany Vance; seven grandsons, Kevin Lacey, Brian Lacey, David Lacey, Bradley Dirgo, Steven Dirgo, Carl R. Esmond III and Ethan Vance; and five great-grandchildren. Besides her husbands, she was preceded in death by a grandson, John C. Rufenacht, along with her brothers, Napoleon, John and James Bergamaschi.
FARKAS Andrew Elmer Lydick Former carpenter attended Bethany Presbyterian Church Andrew Elmer Lydick, 527 Charleston Road, Jefferson Township, formerly of Findley Township, where he had lived for 43 years, died at 12:35 a.m. Saturday (7-14-01) in Trinity Living Center, Grove City. He was 84. Mr. Lydick was born Sept. 29, 1916, in the North Side, Pittsburgh, to Elmer Ellsworth and Margaret Sleepy Lydick. In 1951, he worked for United Brotherhood Carpenters Union 268. In 1948, he worked for Pittsburgh Carpenters Union 211. Mr. Lydick previously was employed by Mesta Machine Co., Pittsburgh. He attended Bethany Presbyterian Church, Mercer. His wife, the former Eleanor Mae McCauley, whom he married Aug. 15, 1940, died May 18, 1998. Surviving are: two daughters, Mrs. James Tim (Lou Ann) Handerhan, Sharpsville, with whom he made his home; and Linda Harton, Sharon; a son, William Ellsworth Lydick, and his wife, Joyce, Pittsburgh; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Martin.
LYDICK Ellen C. Rombold Sharon woman had been registered nurse at CCC Ellen C. Rombold, formerly of 285 White Ave., Sharon, died at 9:25 a.m. Saturday (7-14-01) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 60. Mrs. Rombold was born March 11, 1941, in Jackson Center to Roy and Anna Swartzbeck Brocklehurst. Mrs. Rombold was an active member of First Presbyterian Church, Sharon. The 1959 graduate of Mercer High School received her registered nursing diploma from Sharon General Hospital School of Nursing, Sharon, in 1961. She retired as a nurse from Community Counseling Center, Hermitage, in 1997 with 15 years of service. Her husband, John W. Rombold, whom she married Oct. 12, 1963, died March 20, 1992. Surviving are: her father, Mercer; a daughter, Carol M. Rombold, Sharon; a son, John S. Rombold, and his wife, Jacqueline, Natick, Mass.; and a sister, Mrs. William (Judy) Finney, Mercer. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her mother. Memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund of First Presbyterian Church, 600 E. State St., Sharon 16146.
ROMBOLD Thomas F. Bresnan Thomas F. Bresnan, Hempfield Township, formerly of 17 N. Second St., Greenville, died at 4:45 p.m. Saturday (7-14-01), in White-Cliff Nursing Home, Hempfield Township. He was 91. Obituary information was incomplete.
BRESNAN Pauline Yurcich St. Anthony's member had owned, operated beauty shop Pauline Yurcich, 375 Sherman Ave., Sharon, formerly of Seig Hill Road, Shenango Township, died at 9:35 p.m. Friday (7-13-01) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 84. Mrs. Yurcich was born July 6, 1917, in Youngstown to Paul and Kata Matasic Babic. She was the owner and operator of Lee's Beauty Shop on Hamilton Avenue in Farrell, and later at Seig Hill in Shenango Township. Mrs. Yurcich was a member of St. Anthony's Church, Sharon. Her husband, Nick J. Yurcich, whom she married June 15, 1935, died April 21, 1996. Surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. James (Eleanor) Brennan, Sharon; four grandsons, Dr. Nicholas J. Brennan, Hermitage; Terry P. Brennan, Orlando, Fla.; James J. Brennan, Phoenix; and Patrick L. Brennan, Orlando; two great-grandchildren, Taylor Jo and Luke J. Brennan; two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Ann) Sinkus, West Middlesex; and Mrs. Joseph (Frances) Shapona, San Francisco; and a brother, Thomas Babic, Sharpsville. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mary Pollock and Diane Oliveria; and a brother, Joseph Babic.
