Today's obituaries Alfred E. Kukol Farrell graduate served in U.S. Navy, was avid hunter Alfred E. Kukol of 1625 George St. Ext., Hermitage, died at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday (10-23-01) at the hospital at Sharon Regional Health System following an extended illness. He was 71. Mr. Kukol was born on Dec. 27, 1929, in Farrell, a son of John and Anna Rogan Kukol. After graduating from Farrell High School in 1948, Al served our country during the Korean conflict in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Kukol was a security guard for six years at Ivor J. Lee in Masury; and had previously worked for National Castings Division of Midland-Ross Corp. in Sharon. His memberships included Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6166 in Hermitage; and the former Shenango Valley Archery Club. In his spare time, Al was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed gardening. Survivors include: three daughters, Cynthia L. Lowe, Masury; Linda S. Kukol, Phoenix; and Karen E. Bigler, Canfield, Ohio; two brothers, Carl Kukol, Florida; and John Kukol, Sharon; two grandchildren, Erin Lowe and Heather Bigler; three great-grandchildren, Jalen Lowe, Jarelle Parker and Dashawn Parker; and one great-grandchild, Destiny Goodnight. He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Martin Kukol; and a sister, Elma Milcarek.
KUKOL Brookfield.Nellie J. Reeher Nellie J. Reeher, 11 Fairview Drive, West Middlesex, died at 5:45 a.m. today (10-29-01) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 81. Obituary information was incomplete.
REEHER June E. Dresch Retired co-owner of former dress shop lived in GC June E. Dresch, Grove Manor, formerly of Lee Lane, both Grove City, died at 1:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, 2001, in United Community Hospital, Pine Township. She was 83. Mrs. Dresch was born July 10, 1918, in Nectarine, Irwin Township, Venango County, to Lon Blane Surrena and Sarah Phipps Surrena. A graduate of the former Wesley (Pa.) High School, she was a co-owner of the former JA-DE Dress Shop in Grove City, retiring in 1983. Mrs. Dresch was a member of Church of the Beloved Disciple in Grove City and its Rosary Altar Society. Her husband, Lewis S. Dresch, whom she married June 10, 1938, died Feb. 13, 1991. Surviving are: a daughter, Sally Louise Palardy and her husband Rick Palardy, Temecula, Calif.; three sisters, Erla Ingram, Grove City; Myrna Phillips, Hydetown, Crawford County; and Ruth Coast, Harrisville; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, Mrs. Dresch was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Lewis E. Dresch; and a daughter-in-law, Patricia Dresch. DRESCH Gertrude Kelley Gertrude Kelley, 347 Vernon Court, Sharon, died at 8:15 p.m. Saturday (10-27-01) in Nugent Convalescent Home, Hermitage. She was 89. Obituary information was incomplete.
KELLEY Charles Mackey Sharon Steel retiree, farmer had worked for GC builder Charles Mackey, 752 Clintonville Road, Findley Township, died at 4 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, 2001, in his residence after an extended illness. He was 92. Mr. Mackey was born Sept. 30, 1909, in Butler County to Albert and Vina Double Mackey. He retired from the former Sharon Steel Corp.'s Farrell plant, where he was a high lift operator. Mr. Mackey was also a farmer and worked for the former Montgomery Construction in Grove City. Previously, he worked for the former United Engineering in Ellwood City. Mr. Mackey was a Protestant. Surviving are: his wife, the former Edna Young, whom he married May 28, 1932, at the residence; three daughters, Doris, wife of Theodore Davis; and Florine Mackey, both Mercer; and Joyce, wife of Richard Rust, Cochranton; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Mr. Mackey was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Bertha Cowan; and four brothers, Roy, Garth, Jesse and Clarence Mackey.
MACKEY Donald E. Daisley '57 Sharpsville grad, Navy vet retired from Delphi Packard NEWTON FALLS, Ohio -- Donald E. Daisley, 5098 Shanks Phalanx Road, Newton Falls, formerly of Sharpsville, died at 8:05 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2001, in his home. He was 61. Mr. Daisley was born Jan. 25, 1940, in Greenville to Arnold "Pug" and Marie Moffett Daisley. He was a 1957 graduate of Sharpsville High School. Mr. Daisley was a resident of Newton Falls for 22 years and retired as a tow motor operator on Jan. 1, 1999, after 30 years of service from Delphi Packard Electric Systems, Warren Ohio. An avid hunter, golfer and fisherman, Mr. Daisley belonged to Riverview Golf Club; and Sunrise Inn Bowling League, both Warren; North American Hunting Club; Vienna Fish & Game; and Packard Golf & Bowling Leagues. He was a life member of Local 717 of International Union of Electrical workers. He also enjoyed watching his son Mark play baseball. Mr. Daisley was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served for 11 years. Surviving are: his wife, the former Sharon Moody, whom he married March 24, 1973, at home; two sons, Mark E. Daisley, Newton Falls; and Donald "Donny" T. Daisley, Bellevue, Pa.; a daughter, Mrs. Clyde (Diane) Heckman, Transfer; four grandchildren; three brothers, Thomas D. and Russell L. Daisley, both Greenville; and Daniel L. Daisley, Rutherfordton, N.C.; and a sister, Jean Zuschlag, Sharon. Mr. Daisley was preceded in death by his parents. DAISLEY Frank W. Minnick Retired self-employed trucker belonged to sportsmen's club Frank W. Minnick, 235 Maple Grove Road, Shenango Township, died at 9:15 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 2001, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System after a brief illness. He was 66. Mr. Minnick was born Oct. 11, 1935, in Everett, Pa., to Samuel and Annie College Minnick. He retired in 1992 after 35 years as a self-employed truck driver and was a member of Local 261 of the Teamster's union in New Castle. Mr. Minnick also belonged to Hidden Valley Sportsmen Club in Shenango Township. Surviving are: his wife the former Alda V. Howsare, whom he married Oct. 1, 1955, at home in Shenango Township; a daughter, Tracey, wife of Steve Winck, Lowellville, Ohio; a son, Randy and his wife Tammy Minnick, West Middlesex; a sister, Fay, wife of Wayne Thompson, Breezewood, Pa.; a brother, Grant Minnick, Cumberland, Md.; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Mr. Minnick was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Louise Winck and Wanda Koontz; and a brother, Paul Minnick.
