Ann M. Stieb

Brookfield homemaker helped operate family farm

Ann M. Stieb, 741 Collar Price Road, Brookfield, died at 1:12 p.m. Saturday (1-5-02) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 87.

She was born March 5, 1914, in Farrell to Daniel F. and Martha S. Murdoch Miller.

Mrs. Stieb was a homemaker and had operated the family farm with her husband for many years. She was also a member of the Brook Village Seniors.

Her husband, Phillip Stieb, whom she married Feb. 25, 1933, preceded her in death Nov. 6, 1983.

Surviving are: two daughters, Florence Mizer, Brookfield; and Phyllis Seifert, Niles, Ohio; two sisters, Mary Knapp, Masury; and Rose Gallas, Hermitage; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Nora Lee Stieb; a brother, Robert Miller; and a grandson, William Robert Greenwood.

Robert 'Bob' M. Boyle

'68 Kennedy grad was CPA in Warren, Ohio, firm

Robert "Bob" M. Boyle, 144 Hogan Lane NE, Warren, Ohio, formerly of Hermitage, died of hepatic failure at 6:10 p.m. Friday (1-4-02) in his residence. He was 51.

He was born March 15, 1950, in Sharon to Thomas P. and Kathyrn Seiple Boyle.

Mr. Boyle was a 1968 graduate of what was Kennedy Christian High School, Hermitage; and a 1972 graduate of Youngstown State University. He received his Certified Public Accountant's license in 1973.

He came to Warren in 1982 from Hermitage and was employed as a partner in the firm of Berkman, Boyle, Masters and Stafman, Inc., Certified Public Accountants and Business Consultants in Warren. He retired in 2001.

Mr. Boyle was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Warren.

Surviving are: his wife at home, Beverly "Bev" Schneider, whom he married Aug. 12, 1972; his mother, Hermitage; two daughters, Bridget M. and Erin C. Boyle, both students at Washington and Jefferson College, Washington, Pa.; five brothers, Peter K. and Michael J. Boyle, San Francisco; T. Patrick Boyle, Hudson, Ohio; William J. Boyle, Sharpsville; and Mark S. Boyle, Cincinnati.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Vickie F. Clover

Knox woman had son living in Fredonia

Vickie F. Clover, 1206 Fullerton Road, Knox, Clarion County, died at 12:55 p.m. Friday (1-4-02) in Clarion Hospital. She was 47.

She was born May 3, 1954, in Brookville to Ernest M. Sweitzer, Sr., and Mary Dinger Sweitzer of Rimersburg.

Mrs. Clover was employed at Clarion Hospital's Huston Medical Center in Knox.

She belonged to Knox United Methodist Church and the Monroe Community Club.

Mrs. Clover enjoyed camping, fishing, swimming, watching her boys participate in sports and spending time with her family.

Surviving are: her husband at home, Dana E. Clover, whom she married June 15, 1974; two sons, Thomas Clover and his wife Sarah, Fredonia; and Jared Clover, at home; her parents, Rimersburg; three sisters, Judith and her husband Ron Cochran, Bradenton, Fla.; Cathy and her husband Arnold McKinney; and Lisa and her husband George Shimmons, all Rimersburg; a brother, Ernest M. Sweitzer, Jr., and his wife Georgia, Rimersburg; three special friends, Irene Rader, Paula McMillen and Kathy Baker; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Andrew E. Clover; and a nephew, Paul Sweitzer.

Frederick D. Fiedler

Retired WE manager was past officer of YMCA

Frederick D. Fiedler, 1324 Yahres Road, Sharon, died at 3:10 a.m. Saturday (1-5-02) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. He was 96.

He was born Aug. 4, 1905, in Worcester, Maine, to Frank and Mary Dawson Fiedler.

Mr. Fiedler was a graduate of North High School, Worcester; and of the Worcester Poly-Tech Institute with a bachelor's of science degree and master's degree in electrical engineering.

He began his career with the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp. in 1928 and retired in 1970 as the assistant production manager of the Sharon works.

Mr. Fiedler was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Sharon, where he was the past treasurer for the Retired Men's Association.

He was a member of Sharon Country Club; the American Institute of Electrical Engineers; Westinghouse Retirees; and was past treasurer of Shenango Valley YMCA, Hermitage.

His wife, Evelyn Kendall Fiedler, whom he married Aug. 28, 1930, preceded him in death Sept. 26, 1998.

Surviving are: two daughters, Mrs. Helen Fiedler Williams, Auburn, Pa.; and Mrs. Amy Fiedler Armstrong, Clifton, Va.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Walter Fiedler; and a sister, Ethel Frohock.

Roxaine Mayme-Margaret Pitzer Thompson

Retired teacher, artist taught in Greenville, Jamestown

Roxaine Mayme-Margaret Pitzer Thompson, of Andover, and of Edgewater, Fla., died unexpectedly Friday morning (1-4-02) in the home of her grandson, Tony Paglia, in Athens, Ga., on the way to her Florida home. She was 75.

She was born Jan. 18, 1926, in Aliquippa to Joseph and Sylvia Holzen Pitzer. She was a resident of the Pymatuning Lake area for more than 31 years and of Edgewater for 22 years.

Mrs. Thompson was a graduate of Aliquippa High School and received her bachelor's degree in elementary education from Slippery Rock University in 1947. She did post-graduate work at Slippery Rock and Edinboro universities.

A former area school teacher, she began her teaching career at Hempfield School, Greenville; and was an elementary school teacher in Jamestown Area School District for 25 years. Her accomplishments during her education career included teaching the first private kindergarten class in Aliquippa, organizing and teaching the first kindergarten class as a private program in James-town, being Jamestown's first special education teacher, and taking part in Jamestown's first team-teaching program.

Mrs. Thompson was an associate member of Edgewater Union Church and a member of St. Clement's Episcopal Church, Greenville.

She was a life member of the Slippery Rock University Alumni Association; and a member of a branch of the Volusia County Genealogical Society; and Edgewater Shuffleboard Club, where she was an accomplished player. As a resident of the Pyramid Park Mobile Home Association in Edgewater, she served as director and past president.

Mrs. Thompson was an accomplished artist and won numerous awards for her oil paintings. She was commissioned to design several stained glass windows at Edgewater Union Church. Among her other art interests were ceramics and Chinese watercolor. One of her favorite hobbies was genealogy, spending many hours at libraries and on the computer tracing her family lineage. She traced the Pitzer branch of her family back to the 1500s.

Surviving are: her husband, Thomas R., whom she married May 29, 1948; a daughter, Rhonda L. Paglia and her husband, Anthony G., Hermitage; two sons, T. Richard and his wife, Kathy, Marysville, Pa.; and Roger S. and his wife Laurie, Stansbury Park, Utah; a sister, Crystal Cross, Fairview, Pa.; and eight grandchildren, Tony and his wife, Kimberly; and Cara and Jessica Paglia; and Alaina, Richard, Nathan, Lindsay and Missy Thompson.

She was a loving, kind and gentle wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and neighbor who always had a smile on her face and saw the good in everyone she met. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

Brad E. Francisco

Marine served in Vietnam, lived in Greenville

Brad E. Francisco, 277 East Avenue, Greenville, formerly of Meadville, died at 1:35 a.m. Saturday (1-5-02) of an apparent heart attack in the emergency room of UPMC Horizon, Greenville. He was 53.

He was born April 13, 1948, in Oil City to Lee and Mary Vogan Francisco.

Mr. Francisco served in the Marine Corps from 1966-1968, serving in Vietnam.

He was a graduate of Oil City High School, later receiving his bachelor of arts degree in Christian education from Huntington (Ind.) College; and his master's degree in marriage and family counseling from Fuller Seminary, Pasadena, Calif.

Mr. Francisco was employed for eight years as a quality control inspector for Pennsylvania Tool and Gage Co., Meadville.

He was a member of Believers Christian Fellowship Church, Warren, Ohio.

Mr. Francisco enjoyed fishing and reading.

Surviving are: his wife at home, Kathy Spencer Francisco, whom he married June 11, 1971; three daughters, Amy Francisco, Indiana, Pa.; Mrs. Marc (Kerry) Mariacher, Greenville; and Mrs. Matthew (Laura) Gates, Freedom; and two sisters, Marlene Lesher and Mary Lee Riley, both Oil City.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Mark Francisco.
