Donald F. Ashman Donald F. Ashman, 330 Wilson St., Sharon, died at 8:15 p.m. Thursday (1-17-02) in UPMC Horizon, Farrell. He was 58. Obituary information was incomplete.
ASHMAN Dominic T. Mucci WWII Navy veteran worked for General Fireproofing Dominic T. Mucci of Youngstown died Thursday (1-17-02) in his home. He was 85. He was born Aug. 20, 1916, in Youngstown to Pasquale and Caroline Simeone Mucci and was a lifelong Youngstown resident. Mr. Mucci served in the Navy during World War II. Before retiring in 1979, he was employed by General Fireproofing as a die setter for 40 years. Mr. Mucci was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, Youngstown. He was a founding member of the Eastside Breakfast Club, a member of the Eastside Garden Club and served with the Civilian Conservation Corps in the West. Mr. Mucci was an avid gardener and animal lover and was a devoted husband, beloved uncle and respected friend. His wife, the former Mercedes Hill, whom he married in July 1940, died in March 1991. Surviving are: several nieces and nephews, Paul and Rose Mucci and Dorothy Pontino, all of Youngstown; Caroline and Dominic Barone, Avellino, Italy; many great nieces and nephews; and his beloved cat, Boo Boo. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Catherine Pescione and Theresa Lombard, and a brother Paul Mucci.
MUCCI James M. Ramsey James M. Ramsey of Hubbard died at 9 a.m. Friday (1-18-02) in Trumbull Memorial Hospital, Warren, after being stricken at work. He was 43. Obituary information was incomplete.
RAMSEY Rev. Essie Huntley Former Masury woman served in Sharon church LOS ANGELES -- The Rev. Essie Huntley, Inglewood, Calif., formerly of Masury, passed away Dec. 17, 2001. After more than 70 years of faithful Christian service on this earth, God Almighty reached down His hand of love to usher her into His kingdom. "Well done, thou good and faithful servant, come home." She was 92. Rev. Huntley was born Nov. 9, 1909, in Anderson, Ala., a daughter of Amos and Susie Tinsley. She had two sisters and one brother, all of whom preceded her in death. The Tinsley family moved to Struthers, Ohio, when she was a small child. It was there she began her work in the church and met and married her husband, Richard Huntley Sr. This union was blessed with two sons, Richard Huntley, Inglewood; and James Huntley of Masury, where she and her husband lived for many years. Through her church membership, Mother Huntley served in various capacities including interim church leadership, head of the pulpit committee, teacher, trustee, deaconess, choir director, usher and youth leader, having served many positions as a member of Cedar Avenue Church of God in Sharon. In 1990, she moved to Los Angeles, where she belonged to First Church of God and briefly served as minister of visitation. Leaving a legacy of faithfulness in ministry, Mother Huntley was a fervent prayer warrior, friend and role model to many young Christians. She was a loving mother, grandmother and trusted friend. Through the years, she was also a loving foster mother to many children, for which she received numerous commendations. Besides her sons, Mother Huntley leaves to cherish her memory: her daughters-in-law, Dr. Ola Huntley, wife of Richard, Inglewood; and Shirley, wife of James, Masury; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a special "play" daughter; and a host of other family members and friends. A funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Dec. 22 in First Church of God, Los Angeles, with the Rev. Dr. Gregory L. Dixon, officiant, and the Rev. Dr. Michael A. Smith, eulogist. Interment was in Inglewood Cemetery. A local memorial celebration honoring her life is set for 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, in Cedar Avenue Church of God, 1045 Cedar Ave., Sharon. Frank Thomas Rodgers Retired millwright machinist had sister living in Volant YORK, Pa. -- Frank Thomas Rodgers, 1920 Trolley Road, York, formerly of Wilson, N.Y., and the village of North Liberty, died Friday (1-18-02) in York Hospital. He was 76. He was born Dec. 21, 1925, in Plain Grove to Charles Noble and Violet Mildred Buxton Rodgers. Before retiring in 1986, Mr. Rodgers was employed by the New York State Power Authority for more than 25 years as a millwright machinist. He was a member of North Ridge United Methodist Church, Lockport, N.Y. An avid sportsman, Mr. Rodgers was a member of the Wilson Conservation Club, The Franklin Conservation Club and The Pioneer Sportsman Club. Surviving are: his wife at home, Helen Mae Means Rodgers, whom he married April 17, 1948; four children, Joyce Lepore and her husband Benjamin, Gail Burgen, and Frank Thomas Rodgers Jr. and his wife Patricia, all of York; and Charles L. Rodgers and his wife Paula, Norfolk, Va.; a sister, Emma Rogers, Volant; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Harry and Meryl Rodgers; and a sister, Marilyn Stevenson.
RODGERS Helen Mae 'Red' Hamilton Longtime bus driver was born in Jackson Center Helen Mae "Red" Hamilton of New Alexandria, Pa., left her home on Thursday (1-17-02) to be with the Lord. She was 65. She was born Feb. 22, 1936, in Jackson Center to Fred and Edna Mae Waid Cooper Wallace. Mrs. Hamilton was a school and activity bus driver for 33 years, working for more than 20 years for Kepple in Greensburg-Salem School District, Greensburg, and the remainder with Laidlaw Transportation in Monroeville. Surviving are: two sons, Larry John and Samuel Lee Hamilton, both of Texas; two daughters, Ramona J. Kanouff and her husband, Gary L., Blairsville, Pa.; and Shurla M. Mastrilli and Richard Bellora of Export, Pa.; seven grandchildren, Justin Hamilton and Deanna Anderson, Greensburg; Adam and Luke Hamilton, Georgetown, Texas; Steelyn and Brandon Kanouff, Blairsville; and Danyelle Mastrilli, Stahlstown, Pa.; and three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Owen and Zoe. She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Joshua Lynn Hamilton. Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Hamilton's name to Latrobe Hospital Home Health Services, 813 Ligonier St., Latrobe, PA 15650.
HAMILTON John Siciliano GATX retiree born in Farrell, had sister living here YOUNGSTOWN -- Services will be at 9 a.m. today (1-19-02) for John Siciliano, who passed away Tuesday evening (1-15-02) in St. Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown. He was 80. He was born June 9, 1921, in Farrell to Frank and Maria Afana Siciliano and lived in the area for the last 38 years. He was a World War II Army veteran. Before retiring in 1987, Mr. Siciliano was employed for General American Transportation Corp.'s former plant in Masury. He was a member Sacred Heart Church, Youngstown. Surviving are: his wife, Lucy C. Cartwright Siciliano, whom he married May 7, 1960; and a sister, Concetta Rosati, Farrell. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Theresa Furnelli and Stella Fragle; and a brother, Eugene J. Siciliano.
