LaVerne H. Clark
CLARK LaVerne H., 89, of 150 Mayflower Road, SE, Howland Township, Ohio. Calling hours: One hour prior to service in the ROBERT H. ROBERTS-CLARK MEMORIAL HOME, INC., 180 Garfield Drive, N.E. , Warren, Ohio. Service: Funeral service at 11 a.m. Tuesday (1-22-02) in the funeral home. Burial: Howland Township Cemetery, Warren, Ohio.
James McVey Ramsey Sharpsville grad was Navy vet, clerk at Dairy Mart James McVey Ramsey, of Belmont Avenue, Hubbard, died at 9 a.m. Friday (1-18-02) in Trumbull Memorial Hospital, Warren, Ohio, after being stricken at work. He was 43. He was born Nov. 8, 1958 in Sharpsville to Charles F. and Harriet Jane Bailey Ramsey. Mr. Ramsey was a 1977 graduate of Sharpsville High School, later serving in the navy on the USS Jarrett, San Diego, Calif. He was employed by the Dairy Mart, Hubbard, as a clerk the past five years. Previously, he was employed by the Greenwood Pharmacy as a driver. Mr. Ramsey was a Presbyterian. He loved his family and his nieces and nephews. Surviving are: three nieces, three nephews, two great-nieces and one great-nephew; one sister, Elizabeth J. Ramsey, Warren, Ohio; and two brothers, C. David Ramsey and his wife Barbara, Sandy Lake; and Richard N. Ramsey and his wife Marianne, Sharpsville. He was preceded in death by his parents.
RAMSEY Donald Frederick 'Butch' Ashman Sharon man was truck driver, code officer, talk show host Donald Frederick "Butch" Ashman, 330 Wilson St., Sharon, died at 8:15 p.m. Thursday (1-17-02) in UPMC Horizon, Farrell, following an extended illness. He was 58. He was born Dec. 2, 1943 in Youngstown to Mildred Ashman and was reared by his grandparents, Frederick and Mattie Ashman. Mr. Ashman served in the army during Vietnam. He attended the Youngstown and Hubbard area schools. He graduated from the WPIC School of Broadcasting. Mr. Ashman was a truck driver for many local companies in the valley. He also worked for WPIC from 1994 to 1997 as a talk show host. He was a former code officer for Sharon and a member of the Community Court Program for juveniles. He also worked for the former Sherman Ambulance Company as a driver. He was a past member of the Church of Christ, Hermitage. Mr. Ashman was an avid CB operator, and he was known as "The Flying Dutchman" or "B.B." He also enjoyed riding motorcycles and participating in many talk shows. Surviving are: his wife at home, Starr Bell Ashman, whom he married Sept. 22, 1964; two daughters, Brenda Leigh Ashman, at home; Denise Lorraine Szugye, Niles, Ohio; two sons, Brad Allen and Brian Lee Ashman, both of Sharon; a half-sister, Carol Douglas, Poland, Ohio; a half-brother, Andrew Douglas, Youngstown, Ohio; nine grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Renee Ashman, Mercer; and a son-in-law, Kurt Szugye, Sharpsville. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Memorial contributions may be sent to the family through the funeral home.
ASHMAN James M. Reynolds James Reynolds, formerly of Hermitage, passed away Saturday afternoon (1-19-02) in Millcroft Nursing Home, Newark, Del. following an extended illness. Obituary information was incomplete.
