Bernice Irene Ligo Baker Crew Former Mercer woman was pianist, Cleveland sports fan Bernice Irene Ligo Baker Crew, 225 Howland-Wilson Road, NE, Warren, Ohio, formerly of Mercer, died at 10:45 a.m. Friday (1-25-02) in her residence following a brief illness. She was 72. She was born June 18, 1929 in Grove City to Russell G. and Esther Elizabeth McMillan Ligo. Before retiring in 1988, Mrs. Crew was employed by Imperial Nursing Home, Warren, Ohio, as a licensed practical nurse. She was a Protestant. Mrs. Crew was an accomplished pianist and an avid sports fan who especially loved the Cleveland Indians and Browns. In her spare time, she was devoted to caring for grandchildren. Her first husband, Harold N. Baker, whom she married in 1949, preceded her in death on June 18, 1987. Surviving are: her husband, Frank Crew, whom she married Sept. 27, 1997, at home; two sons, Charles N. and Richard T. Baker, both of Howland, Ohio; five grandsons; two granddaughters; two step-granddaughters; two great-grandsons; and one step-great-granddaughter. Besides her first husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, J. Richard and William Ligo.
CREW Linda Marie Joyce Krafft Linda Marie Joyce Krafft, 109 Kelly Blvd., Slippery Rock, died at 8 a.m. Friday (1-25-02) in United Community Hospital, Grove City, due to injuries sustained in an auto accident. She was 46. Obituary information was incomplete.
KRAFT Victor A. 'Porky' Fragle Hermitage man was Sharon Steel retiree, ex-cafe owner Funeral services will be held Monday (1-28-02) for Victor A. "Porky" Fragle of 254 Wick Ave., Hermitage, who passed away at 10:50 p.m. Thursday (1-24-02) in John XXIII Home, Hermitage. He was 77. He was born Dec. 5, 1924 in Sharon to Pasquale and Cherubina Gioia Fragale. Mr. Fragle attended schools in Sharon. He retired March 1, 1985 as a supervisor at the Sharon Steel Corp.'s former Farrell plant where he had been employed for 42 years. He was a co-owner of the former Town Cafe, Sharon. Mr. Fragle was a member of Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage. He was a member of the Sharon Steel Foreman's Club, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 145, Greenville, the Shenango Valley Sons of Italy, Sharon, and the Italian Home Club, Farrell. Mr. Fragle was an avid gardener and enjoyed golfing and card playing, particularly poker. His first wife, the former Patricia J. Quinlan, whom he married Sept. 6, 1951, preceded him in death on July 22, 1983. Survivors are: his wife, Joyce Wilson Oakes, whom he married Sept. 6, 1998, at home; two daughters, Barbara E. Shelleby, Hermitage; and Jean A. Stenoff, West Middlesex; one son, William F. Fragle, Hermitage; one stepdaughter, Wendy Getway, Sharpsville; one stepson, Christopher Oakes, Hermitage; three brothers, Anthony Fragle and his wife Audrey and Al Fragle and his wife Edith, all of Hermitage, and Robert Fragle and his wife Donna, Farrell; two grandchildren, Thomas V. Shelleby and Matthew W. Fragle; on step-granddaughter, Sarah Getway; and one step-grandson, George Getway. Besides his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Guy, Joseph, James, Frank and Patsy Fragle; and two sisters, Mary Sansoti and Agnes Gatty. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 300 Penn Center Blvd., Suite 700, Pittsburgh 15235.
FRAGLE Mary Fern Hunter Woodall Hermitage great-grandmother was talented seamstress Mary Fern Hunter Woodall, formerly of South Oakdale Avenue, Hermitage, died at 11:25 a.m. Friday (1-25-02) in The Bentley House, Hermitage, following an extended illness. She was 86. She was born Aug. 4, 1915, in Jamestown, to Walker A. and Mary B. Splitstone Hunter. Mrs. Woodall was a 1933 graduate of Sharpsville High School. Before retiring, she was employed for 28 years by the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp. in the accounting department. Mrs. Woodall was a very talented seamstress. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. Her husband, Thomas W. Woodall, whom she married Nov. 11, 1963, preceded her in death on Dec. 13, 1996. Surviving are: one daughter, Janet Hoovler and her husband Tom, Hermitage; one son, Raymond Chapin and his wife Doris, Winston, Ga.; one stepdaughter, Jill Walcott and her husband Jim, Napierville, Ill.; one stepson, Michael Woodall, of Indiana; two sisters, Marilla Austin, Sharpsville, and Peggy Zeronas, Sharon; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 352 West 8th Street, Erie 16502.
