YOUNG Georgia Romaine Peters Faivre Former Grove City Hospital worker retired from SRU Georgia Romaine Peters Faivre, 416 Oakland Ave., Grove City, died at 3:18 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, in Grove Manor, Grove City, where she was a resident since August 2001. She was 76. Mrs. Faivre was born July 23, 1925, in Grove City, a daughter of Harry Joseph Peters and Nellie Leone Faull Peters. Georgia graduated from Grove City High School in the Class of 1943 and from Grace Martin School of Business in Pittsburgh. She retired in 1966 from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania, where she was employed as a telephone switchboard operator for 19½ years. Mrs. Faivre previously worked for the former Grove City Hospital. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Grove City. Her husband, Franklyn Andrew "Bud" Faivre, whom she married April 10, 1946 in Grove City, survives at the residence. Also surviving are: two daughters, Marcia Lynn Campbell and her husband Rodney L. Campbell Sr., Franklin; and Bonnie Janine Rihel and her husband Jerry Rihel, Grove City; two sisters-in-law, Naomi Faivre Downs, Grove City; and Mary Faivre Smith and her husband Joseph Smith, Rogers City, Mich.; six grandchildren, Julie Danzer and her husband Tom; and Rodney L. Campbell Jr., all Franklin; Dr. Michael A. Campbell and his wife Colleen, Columbus, Ga.; Jennifer L. Davis and her husband Brandon, Erie; and Sean Rihel; and Janine Rihel, both Grove City; two great-granddaughters, Mackenzie Danzer and Danielle Davis; one great-grandson, Nathaniel Danzer; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Faivre was preceded in death by her parents.
FAIVRE M. Ruth Fields M. Ruth Fields, 2495 Mercer St., Stoneboro, died today (1-30-02) in Hamot Medical Center, Erie. She was 80. Obituary information was incomplete.

MARINO Violet M. LaCamera Hermitage woman was buyer for former Strouss store Violet M. LaCamera, Maple Drive, Hermitage, passed away at 11:55 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System at the age of 83. Violet was born July 22, 1918, in Youngstown, a daughter of Guy and Rosalie Gentile Centofanti. She was employed as a buyer for the former Strouss' department store in Youngstown for 30 years. Mrs. LaCamera graduated from East High School in Youngstown in 1936. Her first husband, William M. Thomas Sr., whom she married in 1940, passed away in 1980. She leaves: her second husband, Richard H. LaCamera, whom she married in 1988; a son, William M. Thomas Jr. and his wife Carla, Boardman; a daughter, Jacquelyn A. Sonedecker, Columbus, Ohio; three sisters, Olga Cavalier and Tillie Crino, both Boardman; and Erma Galose, Girard, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Besides her first husband, Mrs. LaCamera was preceded in death by five brothers, Herman, Mario, Raymond, Renaldi and Rudolph; and a sister, Ida Mikolay.
LaCAMERA Alvin S. Ackerman Lawyer reared in Farrell was active in Philadelphia area CAMDEN, N.J. -- Alvin S. Ackerman, Drexel Hill, Pa., formerly of Farrell, died Jan. 26, 2002, in Cooper Memorial Hospital. He was 69. Mr. Ackerman was born March 17, 1932, and reared in Farrell, a son of David and Ethel Newman Ackerman. For the past 15 years, Mr. Ackerman had been the administrative partner at the Media Office of Blank Rome Comisky & McCauley LLP, where he concentrated his practice in the areas of municipal law and local government. In 1950, he came to the Philadelphia area, where he met and in 1954 married his wife, the former Edith Katz. Mr. Ackerman received his bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1954; and, in 1957, he received his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law. Mr. Ackerman was a member of the Delaware County (Pa.) Bar Association and practiced law in Delaware County for 44 years. During that time, he started a private practice; served as a prosecutor for the Delaware County District Attorney's Office; served as solicitor for both Upper Darby Township and Delaware County; and served as counsel to the township and county for more than 30 years. As an active member of his community, Mr. Ackerman had served as a board member for numerous organizations, including the Institute for Experimental Psychiatry, Haverford State Hospital and Temple Israel of Upper Darby. Mr. Ackerman is survived by his wife, Edith; children Marilyn and Marc Ackerman; a brother, Robert Ackerman; and grandchildren Drew, Scott, Noah and Maya. ACKERMAN Dorothy M. Philibin Homemaker formerly lived in Lake Latonka BOARDMAN, Ohio -- Dorothy M. Philibin, Forest Ridge, Boardman, formerly of Lake Latonka, died 1:45 p.m. Monday afternoon (1-28-02) in her residence after a long illness. She was 73. Dorothy was born April 3, 1928, in Canfield, Ohio, a daughter of Lloyd and Helen Cook Spellman. She moved to Lake Latonka in 1979 and returned to Boardman in 1999. Mrs. Philibin was a 1951 graduate of Canfield High School and a homemaker. She is survived by: her husband, Bertram P. Philibin, whom she married April 10, 1954; a daughter, Charlene Eisenbraun, Boardman; two sons, Mark Philibin, Ellsworth, Ohio; and Patrick Philibin, Florida; a sister, Nelda Miller, Sacramento, Calif.; two brothers, Lloyd Spellman, Ellsworth; and Roy Spellman, Colorado Springs, Colo.; and five grandchildren, Jennifer, Megan, Kathleen, Jenny and Tim Philibin. Mrs. Philibin was preceded in death by six brothers, Harold, Frank, Walter, Ray, Richard and Robert Spellman; and a sister, Florence Spellman.
