Julia M. Likens Caszatt Boles John XXIII Home nurses aide had been Eagles officer Julia M. Likens Caszatt Boles, 1578 W. Ridge Ave., Sharpsville, died at 7:19 p.m. Friday (2-15-02) in UPMC Horizon, Farrell, after an extended illness. She was 81. Mrs. Boles was born July 16, 1920, in West Middlesex to Thomas L. and Edna A. Baer Likens. The homemaker was a nurses aide at John XXIII Home, Hermitage. She was of the Protestant faith. Mrs. Boles was a member and past officer of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 327, Sharon. She loved to play cards and bingo and also enjoyed spending time with her family. Her husband, Kermit Boles, whom she married Sept. 6, 1969, died March 9, 1982. Her first husband, Alvin E. Caszatt Sr., died May 2, 1963. She is survived by: four sons, Clayton L. Caszatt and his wife, Eileen; and Jacob A. Caszatt and his wife, Georgia, all Sharpsville; Edward L. Caszatt, Sharon; and Daniel L. Caszatt and his wife, Cheryl, Hermitage; two sisters, Lois D. Caszatt, Sharon; and Ida M. Gawne, Mercer; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her two husbands, she was preceded in death by four brothers; five sisters; and a son, Alvin Caszatt Jr.
BOLES Dorothy F. Bocko Dorothy F. Bocko, 1645 Orangeville Road, Hermitage, died at 2:15 p.m. Saturday (2-16-02) in the intensive care unit of UPMC Horizon, Farrell. She was 75. Obituary information was incomplete.
BOCKO Rose Marie Kocis St. Michael's Byzantine member had been secretary Private funeral service will be Monday (2-18-02) for Rose Marie Kocis, 427 Buckeye Drive, South Pymatuning Township. She died at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2002, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 84. Mrs. Kocis was born April 1, 1917, in Jamestown to Michael and Kathryn Slyczak. She had been a secretary with Protected Home Mutual Life Insurance Co., Sharon, and Pennsylvania State Employment Office. Mrs. Kocis was a member of St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church, Hermitage. Her husband, Edward Kocis, died June 14, 1967. Surviving are: one son, Dennis and his wife, Alma of South Pymatuning Township; two grandchildren, Denise Churlick of Sharon; and Edward Kocis of Erie; and a brother, John Slyczak of Kinsman. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Donald, on July 20, 1989; two sisters, Helen McCright and Mary Ondo; and three brothers, Harry and Joseph Slyczak and Nick Slovinsky. KOCIS Margaret H. Hanlon Margaret H. Hanlon, Countryside Convalescent Home, 8221 Lamor Road, East Lackawannock Township, formerly of Hermitage, died of natural causes at 1 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, in the nursing home. She was 84. Obituary information was incomplete.
HANLON Agnes Frances Meyers St. Anthony member worked for former Farrell businesses A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday (2-19-02) for Agnes Frances Meyers, 1146 Wallis Ave., Farrell. She passed away at 2:15 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, 2002, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System after an extended illness. She was 90. She was born on Feb. 5, 1912, in McKees Rocks, Pa., the daughter of Michael and Sophie Dugan Matusick. She was employed by the former Carnegie Steel and the former Beebich Machine Shop, both Farrell. A homemaker, she belonged to St. Anthony Church, Sharon, and was a member of Croatian Fraternal Union Lodge 126. She was married to George Matchurich, who passed away in 1938; and then John Meyers, who passed away in 1967. Agnes is survived by a daughter Dorothy A. "Cookie" Taylor, Sharon; and two sons, John E., at home; and Michael E. and his wife, Nancy, of Masury; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Matthew and Edward Matusick; and one sister, Ann Zipay.
MEYERS Lillian O. Tamplin Was St. Paul's UCC organist, choir director for 42 years Lillian O. Tamplin, Woodland Place, Coolspring Township, formerly of 489 Georgetown St., Sharpsville, died Friday evening (2-15-02) in the nursing home. She was 88. She was born Jan. 15, 1914, in Sharon the daughter of John P. and Anna Boffey Otte. She was a former member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Hermitage, where she was organist and choir director for 42 years. She was an accomplished pianist in her younger years and active in many music circles. She was a former member of Sharon Music Club and a 1931 graduate of Sharon High School. Her husband, Jack E. Tamplin, whom she married in August 1933, died Nov. 24, 1987. She is survived by: a son, Jack O. Tamplin of Fort Myers, Fla.; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Charles R. Tamplin; and brothers Charles P. Otte and James B. Daugherty.
TAMPLIN Ida R. Alderman Centenarian belonged to Paynes Corners Christian Ida R. Alderman, O'Brien Memorial Healthcare Center, 563 Brookfield Ave., Masury, formerly of Brookfield, died at 12:03 a.m. Saturday (2-16-02) in the nursing home. She was 100. Mrs. Alderman was born in Sharon on June 23, 1901, a daughter of John and Clara Hughes Burns. She was a homemaker and member of Paynes Corners Christian Church, Brookfield. Other memberships included the American Legion Auxiliary; White Shrine, Sharon; and Blue Star Mothers, where she had been past president of the local, state and national chapters. Her husband, Elton Alderman, preceded her in death. They had been married for 66 years. Survivors include two granddaughters; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. She also was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Carl Alderman; four brothers; and one sister. Memorial contributions may be made to Paynes Corners Christian Church through the funeral home.
ALDERMAN Harry Griffith Sr. Harry Griffith Sr., 504 State Line Road, Masury, died at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. He was 80. Obituary information was incomplete.
GRIFFITH Mary Salatino Farrell homemaker was coilwinder at Westinghouse Mary Salatino, 312 Pershing Drive, Farrell, passed away at 2:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 76. Mrs. Salatino was born Feb. 8, 1926, in Sharon to Vasko and Susan Lesko Ferko. She attended Sharon Schools. Earlier in her life, she was a coilwinder for 11 years at the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp. A homemaker, she was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Farrell. Surviving are: her husband, Alfred S. Salatino, whom she married Nov. 22, 1952; a son, Gary Salatino Sr. and his wife, Diane, West Middlesex; a sister, Mrs. Ted (Helen) Glover, Sharpsville; one brother, George Ferko and his wife, Diane, Warren, Ohio; one sister-in-law, Louise Ferko of Arizona; and two grandsons, Gary Salatino Jr. and Gregory Salatino. Her parents; one son, David Salatino; and one brother, John Ferko, preceded her in death. Memorial contributions may be made to Prince of Peace Center, 502 Darr Ave., Farrell 16121.
SALATINO Kenneth V. Moon Obituary was published 2-15-02 Kenneth V. Moon of Woodland Place Inc., Coolspring Township, formerly of Jackson Center, was preceded in death by three sisters, Madlin Roper and Florence Campbell and infant Dorothy; two brothers, Alan and Perry; and twin great-grandsons, Dustin and Justin.
