Ann M. Joseph Farrell High alumna was Our Lady of Fatima member A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday (4-29-02) for Ann M. Joseph, formerly of Shady Drive, Farrell. She died at 12:40 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2002, in Countryside Convalescent Home, East Lackawannock Township. She was 83. Mrs. Joseph was born June 9, 1918, in Farrell to Andrew Poranda and Susan Dupay Poranda. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Farrell. Mrs. Joseph enjoyed bowling, playing cards and traveling. She was a graduate of Farrell High School. Her husband, Marlin Thomas Joseph, whom she married June 10, 1944, died July 1, 1989. Surviving are: two sons, Thomas A. Joseph, Louisville, Ohio; and Richard M. Joseph, Hermitage; and a sister, Irene Poranda, Hermitage. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Michael Joseph, who died on March 16, 1999; two brothers, Michael A. and Andrew Poranda; and two sisters, Agnes and Mary Poranda. JOSEPH Bradley Patrick Bortner VFW member, former roofer enjoyed hunting, fishing A funeral service will be held Monday for Bradley Patrick Bortner of 2356 Brian Lane in Hermitage. He passed away at 3:27 p.m. Thursday (4-25-02) in UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, after a short illness with cancer. He was 25. Mr. Bortner was born Sept. 4, 1976, in Sharon, a son of James L. Bortner and Patricia Rendick Bortner. He attended St. Joseph's School in Sharon and Hermitage schools. Brad had previously been employed as a roofer by the Rupp Construction Co. in Sharpsville. He attended St. Joseph's Church and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1338, both Sharon. An outdoorsman, Bradley enjoyed both hunting and fishing. He is survived by his fiance, Nicole Rearick, and their son, Nathan Patrick Bortner, both at home. Also surviving are: his parents and his nephew, Dustin James Bortner, all at home. Bradley also leaves: his maternal grandfather, John Rendick, Hermitage; his brother, James J. Bortner, Mercer; and his aunt and godmother, Barbara Brush, Farrell. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Andrew and Dellia Margaret Carlisle, and his maternal grandmother, Mary Rendick.
