Doris L. Troy Doris L. Troy, Woodland Place, 745 Greenville Road, Coolspring Township, formerly of South Pymatuning Township, died of natural causes at 2:10 p.m. Sunday (5-5-02) in the nursing home. She was 99. Obituary information was incomplete.
TROY Ronald Earl Winder '68 Grove City grad worked at Wendell August Forge Ronald Earl Winder, 255 Old Ash Road, Springfield Township, died of an apparent heart attack at 3 a.m. Sunday, May 5, 2002, in his residence. He was 52. Mr. Winder was born May 28, 1949, in Grove City to Clarence P. "Buzz" and Margery Hoffman Winder. He was a craftsman for 30 years with Wendell August Forge Inc., Grove City. The 1968 Grove City High School alumnus was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam era. He attended First Church of God, Grove City. Mr. Winder was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7465 and American Legion Richard E. Craft Post 584, both Springfield Township. He enjoyed fishing and NASCAR. Surviving are: one son, Michael Guy Winder and his wife, Stacy, Franklin; his father, Grove City; one sister, Cathy Sue Smith, Grove City; two brothers, Gary Lee Winder, Grove City; and Rick P. Winder, Mercer; and one granddaughter, Paige Winder, Franklin. He was preceded in death by his mother.
WINDER Joseph W. Glavey WWII vet, retired postal clerk took part in baseball, softball Joseph W. Glavey, 1444 Cranbrook Drive, Hermitage, died of natural causes at 7:57 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2002, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. He was 85. Mr. Glavey was born Dec. 4, 1916, in Sharon to James A. and Louella Woodburn Glavey. The 1935 Sharon High School alumnus served with the 86th Engineers during World War II in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes and Rheinland. He received a Purple Heart. Mr. Glavey retired June 30, 1972, after 25 years as a clerk with the United States Post Office. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Sharon; Knights of Columbus Sharon Council 684; Veterans of Foreign Wars Hickory Post 6166, Hermitage; American Association of Retired Persons Hermitage Chapter 3616; Farrell Italian Home; and Sharon Carpo-Russ Club. Mr. Glavey was active in Little League and Junior Varsity baseball and was a Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association umpire in baseball and softball. He played baseball with the first American Legion team in Sharon and also with West Middlesex Merchants, Farrell Book Shoes and Farrell YMSA. Mr. Glavey played softball with Jack's Grill and Slovenian Home. His wife, the former Margaret J. Kovach, whom he married Nov. 5, 1942, died Nov. 13, 1993. Surviving are: one daughter, Mrs. Margaret Timmerman, Hermitage; two sons, Joseph D. Glavey, Boulder City, Nev.; and Richard A. Glavey, Sharpsville; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Bonita Glavey; and two brothers, Bernard Glavey and Ed Glavey.
GLAVEY Sophia W. Cvelbar Rudley Sophia W. Cvelbar Rudley, 270 Cohassett Drive, Hermitage, died at 5:15 p.m. Sunday (5-5-02), in Hospitality Care Center of Hermitage. She was 84. Obituary information was incomplete.
CVELBAR RUDLEY Arthur W. Walker Arthur W. Walker, 359 Shady Ave., Sharon, died Sunday, May 5, 2002, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. He was 79. Obituary information was incomplete.
WALKER Larry J. Kephart Sheepfold Ministries member was self-employed handyman Larry J. Kephart, 1395 Bolde Drive, Hermitage, passed away Saturday (5-4-02) in the intensive care unit of the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System following a brief illness. He was 46. He was born Aug. 10, 1955, in Sharon, the son of Jasper and Irene Munnal Kephart. He later enlisted in the U.S. Army. Mr. Kephart was a self-employed handyman and worked primarily as a roofer and painter. He belonged to Sheepfold Ministries, Sharon. Surviving are: his wife, Kathy Elaine; four daughters, Elaine Marie Neiswonger, Mercer; Melissa Lynn Anderson and her husband Walter, Hermitage; Janet Lee Deal and her husband, Raymond, Sharon; and Amanda Rae Kephart, at home; a sister, Linda Negrea and her husband, John, Sharon; four brothers, John E. Kephart and his wife, Jo Ann, Hartford; George W. Kephart and his wife, Donna, Sharon; Jasper L. Kephart, Sharon; and Charles E. Bordell and his wife, Kathy, Hermitage; a brother-in-law, Robert Hummell, West Middlesex; and five grandchildren, Hannah M., Jonathan M. and Trinity Neiswonger; and Catlin Nicole Anderson and Raymond Harold Deal Jr. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Joanne Hummell.
KEPHART Joseph E. Millero Railroad retiree of Greenville was Navy vet, high-rise officer Joseph E. Millero, 9 Penn Ave., Greenville, died at 6:37 a.m. Sunday (5-5-02) in UPMC Horizon, Greenville. He was 64. Mr. Millero was born April 15, 1938, in Greenville to Albert M. Millero Sr. and Margaret M. Jordan Millero. He attended the former St. Michael High School, Greenville; and served from 1956 through 1962 in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Millero previously was employed as a welder at Bessemer & Lake Erie Rail Road, Greenville. He was a member of St. Michael's Church and of the Italian Home Club, both in Greenville. Mr. Millero served as vice president of Greenville House, where he also enjoyed visiting with residents. Surviving are: his wife, the former Mary Painter, whom he married May 20, 1973; one sister, Mrs. Robert A. (Tony) Gaus, Greenville; and five brothers, Albert M. Millero Jr., Edward R. Millero and Richard R. Millero, all Greenville; Raymond G. Millero, Sandy Lake; and James L. Millero, Fredonia. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael School Endowment Fund, 80 N. High St., Greenville 16125.
MILLERO Charles O. Fetterhoff Bethany Presbyterian member retired from Agway Charles O. Fetterhoff, St. Paul Homes, 339 E. Jamestown Road, West Salem Township, formerly of 321 E. Market St., Mercer, died at 12:20 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2002, in the nursing home. He was 90. Mr. Fetterhoff was born Oct. 11, 1911, in Greenville to Harvey C. Fetterhoff and Lillie Homer Fetterhoff Reinhart. He attended Fredonia schools. Mr. Fetterhoff retired in 1976 after 40 years of service with Agway Corp. in Reynolds. He was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church, Mercer. At. St. Paul Homes, Mr. Fetterhoff became very involved in social activities and enjoyed card playing and bingo. He was a member of the resident council of St. Paul Homes. His wife, the former Dorothy Reimold, whom he married Aug. 1, 1939, died Jan. 28, 2000. Surviving are: one son, Howard C. Fetterhoff, Mercer; one daughter, Mrs. Gerald (Diane) Steuart, Greenville; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund of Bethany Presbyterian Church, 100 W. Venango St., Mercer 16137.
FETTERHOFF John Miskolitz WE retiree formerly lived in Farrell, was active in Kiwanis John Miskolitz, St. Paul Homes, 339 E. Jamestown Road, West Salem Township, formerly of Lunn Boulevard, Farrell, died of natural causes at 10 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2002, in the nursing home. He was 86. Mr. Miskolitz was born July 3, 1915, in Hammond, Ind., to Paul and Mary Nowalicz Miskolitz. He retired in 1973 after 40 years as a supervisor for the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp. John was a member of Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, Hermitage. He was a member of the Farrell Booster Club and Farrell Volunteer Fire Department, and was a past treasurer of both. Mr. Miskolitz was a former member of the Farrell Kiwanis Club, where he was a past president. He also was a former member of the Transfer Kiwanis Club. He served as lieutenant governor for Kiwanis District Two, Pennsylvania. Mr. Miskolitz loved to garden, woodwork, hunt and travel. His wife, the former Yvonne Charriere, whom he married June 15, 1940, died July 22, 1969. Surviving are: one son, Rick Miskolitz and his wife, Kathleen, Charlotte, N.C.; one daughter, Mrs. Fred (Jonette) Olinger, Randolph, N.J.; one brother, Frank Miskolitz, Hermitage; three grandchildren, Scott, Eric and Melissa; and one great-grandchild, Alex. Memorial contributions may be made to Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, 5130 E. State St., Hermitage 16148.
MISKOLITZ Edythe T. Schehl Former Transfer woman was security officer, volunteer Edythe T. Schehl, Sharon, formerly of 3317 N. Hermitage Road, Transfer, died at 10:29 a.m. Thursday, May 2, 2002, in Clepper Manor, Sharon, after an extended illness. She was 80. Mrs. Schehl was born Feb. 10, 1922, in Bell Ellen, Ala., to Franklin Teague and Effie Mae Clay Teague. She graduated in 1939 from high school in Alabama and attended one year of college. Mrs. Schehl retired in 1985 after three years as a security officer for Shenango Valley Mall in Hermitage. At one time, she volunteered at Mercer County Crippled Children's Home. Her husband, Herbert A. Schehl, died Aug. 4, 1985. Surviving are: a daughter, Linda J. Schehl, Transfer; a stepdaughter, Connie Meszaros, Farrell; two sons, H. Franklin Lawrence and his wife, Debbie, Longwood, Fla.; and Roger C. Lawrence, and his wife, Anne, Thonosassa, Fla.; two stepsons, John W. Schehl and his wife, Diana, Amarillo, Texas; and Timothy J. Schehl and his wife, Alice, Hubbard; five grandchildren; nine stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren. Mrs. Schehl was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Maurice Teague. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made commemorating her great love of animals to Stray Haven Animal Shelter Inc., Box 464, 94 Donation Road, Greenville 16125.
