Stanley F. Bitenz Ellwood City retiree had sister living in Sharpsville NEW CASTLE -- Stanley F. Bitenz, 811 Harmony-Fisher Ave., Ellwood City, died at 10:35 a.m. Friday, May 17, 2002, in the hospital of Jameson Health System. He was 86. Mr. Bitenz was born Oct. 10, 1915, in Sharon to Frank Bitenz and Helen Peterson Bitenz. He was employed at Aetna Standard in Ellwood City as a chief inspector and, after retiring, did field service and consulting for the company. Mr. Bitenz was a very active member of St. Agatha Worship Site, Holy Redeemer Parish, Ellwood City. He also enjoyed golfing and gardening. Surviving are: his wife, the former Mary H. Zele, whom he married on Oct. 2, 1937, at home; two daughters, Patricia Mollick, New Castle; and Elizabeth Package, Kingston, Ohio; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a sister, Helen Lange, Sharpsville. Mr. Bitenz was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Stanley E. Bitenz; and two brothers, Frank and Rudolph Bitenz. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Angel Fund of Holy Redeemer Parish, 124 Fifth St.; Ellwood City Public Library, 510 Crescent Ave., both Ellwood City 16117; or to a charity of the donor's choice.
BITENZ John Edward Kephart Self-employed carpenter was dachshunds breeder, handler John Edward Kephart of 2415 Custer Orangeville Road, Hartford, died at 10:53 a.m. Thursday (5-16-02) in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, following an extended illness. He was 49. Mr. Kephart was born June 18, 1952, in Sharon, a son of Jasper and Irene Bordell Kephart. He served our country in the U.S. Army. Mr. Kephart was a self-employed carpenter for 31 years, working under the name of Kephart Construction. He was also nationally known as a breeder and handler of American Kennel Club Dachshunds. His memberships included St. Anthony's Church, Sharon; the Dachshund Club of America; and the Central Ohio Dachshund Club. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and all outdoor activities. Survivors include: his wife, the former Joanne Karlovic, whom he married Jan. 22, 1981; two sons, John E. Kephart Jr. Pittsburgh; and Shawn Kephart, Slippery Rock; four brothers, Charles Bordell, Hermitage; and George, Richard and Jasper Kephart, all Sharon; and one sister, Linda Negrea, also Sharon. Mr. Kephart was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Larry Kephart; and a sister, Joanne Hummel. Memorial contributions may be made to Trumbull County Humane Society, 409 Harmon Ave. NW, Warren, OH 44483.
KEPHART Catherine Kiester Sharon High School graduate was homemaker A funeral service will be held Monday for Catherine Kiester, 745 Dutch Lane, Hermitage, formerly of Forker Boulevard, Sharon. She died at 12:40 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2002, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System after an extended illness. She was 49. Mrs. Kiester was born Feb. 19, 1953, in Bellefonte, Pa., to Harry Rutherford Sr. and Betty Hockenberry Rutherford. She attended Sharon High School. A homemaker, Catherine enjoyed crossword puzzles, crocheting, cooking, camping, boating, fishing and gardening. Surviving are: her former husband, Harold Kiester Sr., Mesa, Ariz.; a daughter, Michelle Kiester, with whom she made her home; three sons, Todd Kiester, Farrell; Harold M. Kiester Jr., Virginia Beach, Va.; and Chad E. Kiester, Hermitage; a brother, Harry Rutherford Jr., Sharon; and four grandchildren, Nicole, Chrissy and Paige Kiester, all Virginia Beach; and John Wansor Jr., Hermitage. She was preceded in death by her parents.
KIESTER Adolph Pacifico Sharon man born in W.Va. was National Castings retiree Adolph Pacifico, 539 Lafayette St., Sharon, died at 1:25 a.m. Friday, May 17, 2002, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System after being stricken at home. He was 93. Mr. Pacifico was born Nov. 26, 1908, in Morgantown, W.Va., to Adolph Pacifico and Olivea Leone Pacifico. He retired in 1973 as a chipper and grinder from the former National Castings Division of Midland-Ross Corp., Sharon, where he worked for 35 years. Mr. Pacifico enjoyed hunting and gardening. His wife, the former Thelma Cameron, whom he married April 14, 1940, died Oct. 5, 1991. Surviving are: a son, Joseph and his wife Margie Ser, Farrell; two sisters, Laura Vaccaro and Minnie Valentino, both Hermitage; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Besides his wife, Mr. Pacifico was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Emma Mazza, Jennie Wiley and Corinda Squalis; a brother, Weda Pacifico; and a grandson, Roy Ser.
