Eric John Young Eric John Young, 1500 Bend Road, Jefferson Township, died about 3 p.m. Saturday (5-18-02) from injuries sustained in an accident in Forest County. He was 19. Obituary information was incomplete.
YOUNG Lois M. Dresch Farrell retiree taught in Sharpsville, Hickory schools Lois M. Dresch, 938 Sharon-New Castle Road, Farrell, died at 5:40 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2002, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System after an extended illness. She was 93. Mrs. Dresch was born Sept. 11, 1908, in Sharon, to Albert C. Ebert and Viola Sharra Ebert. She graduated from Farrell High School in 1925 and went on to receive her teaching credentials from Slippery Rock University. Mrs. Dresch taught at Sharpsville schools and then at Hickory Junior High School for 18 years. She retired in 1972. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Sharon; the National and Pennsylvania State Education associations; and Order of the Amaranth Sharon Court 120. Mrs. Dresch enjoyed knitting and following sports and was an avid collector of Snoopy products. Her husband, Ralph E. Dresch, whom she married June 21, 1938, died Jan. 27, 1969. Surviving are: two daughters, Lois A. Fry, West Middlesex; and Sharra A. Pomroy, Custer City, Pa.; two sons, Ralph M. Dresch and his wife Marcia, Dexter, Mich.; and Raymond A. Dresch and his wife Betsy, Apollo Beach, Fla.; Ester E. Ebert, Farrell; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, Mrs. Dresch was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Walter and Albert Ebert.
DRESCH Elsie K. Spangler WARREN, Ohio -- Elsie K. Spangler, 7554 Pegotty Drive NE, Warren, Ohio, formerly of Hermitage, died at 5:30 a.m. Saturday (5-18-02) in her home after a long bout with cancer. She was 53. Obituary information was incomplete.
SPANGLER Walter Leroy 'Putter' Anthony Transfer man belonged to Lebanon Presbyterian Walter Leroy "Putter" Anthony, 48 Penn St., Transfer, died at 4:30 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2002, in his residence after an extended illness. He was 48. Mr. Anthony was born March 29, 1954, in Sharon to Robert James Anthony and Essie June Connor Anthony. He was a man of various occupations and was a member of Lebanon Presbyterian Church, Lackawannock Township. Surviving are: his former wife and friend, Nancy Sis Anthony, Transfer; a daughter, Bobbi Anthony, Sharpsville; a son, Walt Anthony, Transfer; his grandmother, Marybelle Anthony, Hermitage; his parents, Lackawannock Township; a sister, Jennifer Anthony, Hermitage; three brothers, James Anthony, Uniontown, Pa.; Robert Anthony, Shenango Township; and Barry Anthony, Lackawannock Township; and one grandchild, Elizabeth Anne Irwin. Memorial contributions may be made to Sharon Regional Health System's Hospice Home Care, 490 N. Kerrwood Drive, Suite 204, Hermitage 16148.
ANTHONY Robert F. Hoffman Robert F. Hoffman, 934 Coleman Ave., Sharpsville, died of natural causes at 12:30 p.m. Saturday (5-18-02) in UPMC Horizon, Farrell. He was 79. Obituary information was incomplete.
