John Solomon Obituary was published 6-2-02 John Solomon of 290 Penhale Ave., Campbell, Ohio, was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Batdoth. Joseph Anthony Rotz Sharon Tube retiree was member of fraternal groups Joseph Anthony Rotz, 2385 Brian Lane, Hermitage, passed away unexpectedly at 2:30 a.m. Monday (6-3-02) in the emergency room of UPMC Horizon, Farrell. He was 73. Born March 19, 1929, in New Castle, he was a son of the late Charles and Mary Russo Rotz. He attended New Castle schools and retired in 1984 as a millwright from Sharon Tube Co. after 30 years of service. A member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Sharon, he was a United States Army veteran who served during the Korean conflict. Mr. Rotz was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7597, Farrell; and Veterans of Foreign Wars Shenango Valley Post, 1338, Sharon; Sharon American Legion Post 299; Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Sharon Lodge 103; Farrell Italian Home; and Farrell Croatian Club. Joseph was a devoted father, grandfather and brother who loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed dancing and cooking for the German Home and Sharon Tube Co. Golf League; and catering private parties. Mr. Rotz was also an avid card and bingo player. On Feb. 6, 1954, he married the former Eleanor "Pee Wee" Negrea. She preceded him in death April 26, 1997. Survivors include one son, Robert Joseph Rotz and his wife, Terry, Sharon; one daughter, Tammie Detwiler, Mansfield, Ohio; one brother, Anthony Rotz, Butler; three grandchildren, Joel Matthew Rotz, Jordyn Ashle Detwiler and Julie Ann Rotz; and his companion, Verla Bradian, with whom he made his home. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Carmen Rotz; a brother, Charles "Pabby" Rotz II; and two sisters, Phyllis Ricuitti and Marie Ascione. ROTZ Philip F. Carlson Philip F. Carlson, 310 Fairground Road, Stoneboro, died at 5:50 p.m. Monday (6-3-02) in Autumn Grove Care Center, Harrisville. He was 71. Obituary information was incomplete.
CARLSON Judith M. Savach Vengren Hair stylist, crafter donated works to charity fund-raisers A funeral service will be Wednesday for Judith M. Savach Vengren, 303 Woodland Ave., Farrell. She died unexpectedly of natural causes at 2:45 a.m. today (6-3-02) in UPMC Horizon, Farrell. She was 54. Judy was born July 27, 1947, in Sharon to Steve and Katherine Yurcich Savach. She was a hair stylist and a Roman Catholic. Judy was a fund-raiser and secretary for the Sharing and Caring for Persons In Need of Mercer County, Inc. As a young girl she was a member of the Sloga Tamburitza. She was an avid and very talented crafter and donated many of her creations to local charitable fund-raising events. Surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. Mark (Stephanie C.) DelFratte, Beaver; two brothers, Ronald Savach, Hubbard; and Stephen Savach, Masury; two granddaughters, Christina and Cara; one grandson, Nico; and a longtime companion, Andrew M. Miller, Farrell. VENGREN Carl H. Addicott Sharpsville grad, WE retiree, WWII vet lived in Sharon FORT PIERCE, Fla. -- Carl H. Addicott, 128 Plantation Blvd., Fort Pierce, died at 8:16 a.m. May 6, 2002, in Lawn Medical Center, Fort Pierce. He was 75. Mr. Addicott was born April 3, 1927, in Sharpsville to Louis and Jessie Hettrick Addicott. He formerly lived on Fisher Hill in Sharon. The 1945 Sharpsville High School alumnus served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He retired after 39 years of service from Section I-35 of Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp. His wife, the former Shirley I. Gilliland of Grove City, whom he married June 6, 1951, died in January 1996. Surviving are: a sister, Marian Sickafus, Sharpsville; a brother, Walter Addicott, Sharon; a daughter, Marilyn Addicott and her husband, William Warnick, Hermitage; one son, Larry E. Addicott and his wife, Kathy, Youngstown; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday (6-8-02) in Clark Trinity United Methodist Church, 96 Charles St., with the Rev. Faye A. Barca, pastor, officiating. Michael Charles Albright Sr. Ex-director, golfer at Sharon club worked in steel services A memorial service will be Wednesday for Michael Charles Albright Sr., of 7424 Brookwood Drive SE, Brookfield. He died at 3:30 p.m. Sunday (6-2-02) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System following an extended illness. He was 61. He was born May 4, 1941, in Youngstown, the son of Chauncy Howells and Ruth Snyder Albright Jr. A 1957 graduate of Culver (Ind.) Summer Naval Academy and a 1959 graduate of Sharon High School, he also attended Youngstown State University, where he was a member of Pershing Rifles Fraternity. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, 226 W. State St., Sharon. Mr. Albright was well known in the steel service industry for 40 years in the Shenango Valley. He served in managerial and sales positions at Shenango Steel Co.; L&N Steel Products Division; Masury Steel Service Center and recently at Turner Steel Service Center. A former member of Sharon Country Club and its board of directors, he was an avid golfer, having been club champion and runner-up of its Men's Golf Association several times in the 1970s. He was also chairman of the greens committee. A former member of Sharon Social Fishing Club, he was an avid sports fan of the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns. He loved working in his yard and garden. He is survived by his wife, the former Barbara Latimer, whom he married Dec. 15, 1961; a daughter, Kristine A. Jablonski and her husband, Terence, Fairhope, Ala.; a son, Michael C. Albright Jr., York, Pa.; a sister, Jane S. Andrews, St. Augustine, Fla.; a brother, C.H. "Skip" Albright, Brookfield; and two grandchildren, John Charles and Jeffrey Michael, Fairhope. He was preceded in death by his parents. ALBRIGHT William H. Shacklock Sharon Steel retiree was active in Nazarene church William H. Shacklock, 423 Main St., Sharpsville, died unexpectedly at approximately 3:45 p.m. June 3, 2002, in his home. He was 79. Mr. Shacklock was born Nov. 19, 1922, in Sharpsville to Frank V. and Lenora Almeda Derr Shacklock. The 1942 graduate of Sharpsville High School served during World War II in the Army, where he was a military police officer in India. He worked for Sharon Steel as a rigger for 34 years, retiring April 26, 1982. Mr. Shacklock was a member of Sharpsville Church of the Nazarene, where he served on the church board and was a past trustee, past International Nazarene Youth President and past usher. He was a member of Sharpsville American Legion Post 162; Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6404, Sharpsville; and Sharpsville Men's Service Club. Surviving are: his wife, the former Hazel Emerson Rearick, whom he married April 28, 1992; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Clarence (Amelia) Thompson, Transfer; and Mrs. Frank (Anna) Zarecky and Mrs. Charles (Emma) Miller, both West Salem Township; two stepsons, Paul Rearick Sr.; and Keith Rearick and his wife, Helen, all Transfer; a brother, Kenneth Shacklock, Sharpsville; 13 stepgrandchildren; and 26 stepgreat-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Margaret E. Filer and Betty J. Stabile; and one brother, Frank Shacklock.
SHACKLOCK Rachel Leigh Crocker Rachel Leigh Crocker, 282 Veterans Road, Springfield Township, died after an illness at 3:12 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2002, in Children's Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was 4. Rachel was born Feb. 13, 1998, in Grove City to Jerry Wayne and Tracy Annette Mason Crocker. She was a member of Fellowship Community Church, Mercer. Rachel loved life, and her kidneys were donated to two others. Surviving are: her parents, Mercer; her grandparents, John N. and Harriet L. Mason, Mercer; and Tommy G. and Martha A. Crocker, Mercer; her great-grandmother, Annette R. Thompson, Mercer; her great-grandfather, James D. Jones, Mabank, Texas; her half sister, Wendy Denice Crocker, Las Vegas; and her half brother, Tommy Dean Crocker, at home.
