Helen K. Gorzo Davidson Homemaker belonged to St. Joseph Church A funeral Mass will be Monday (6-10-02) for Helen K. Gorzo Davidson, 426 Superior St., Hermitage, formerly of Delaware Street, Sharon. She passed away at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday (6-5-02) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 89. Mrs. Davidson was born May 18, 1913, in Deegan, Butler County, to Michael and Veronica Fazekas Gorzo. Moving here as a child, she attended schools in Farrell. Prior to her marriage, she was employed by a shirt factory in Kane, Pa. Mrs. Davidson was a homemaker and member of St. Joseph Church, Sharon. She enjoyed embroidery and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also well known for her delicious peach pies. Her husband, John L. Davidson, whom she married Aug. 31, 1935, died Dec. 17, 1983. Surviving are: three daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Shirley M.) Pacifico, Hermitage; and Mrs. Charles (Phyllis A.) Groscost and Mrs. Wayne (Evelyn L.) Daniel, both Phoenix; one sister, Anne Emery, Hermitage; 10 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Julia Weiser; and five brothers, John, Nicholas, Lester, Andrew and Steven.
DAVIDSON Ethel Sara Coxson Homemaker was honorary member of conservation club Funeral service will be Monday (6-10-02) for Ethel Sara Coxson, 847 Boyd St., Masury. She died at 12:30 p.m. Thursday (6-6-02) in St. Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown. She was 93. Mrs. Coxson was born in Punxsutawney, Pa., on Oct. 31, 1908, a daughter of Charles and Annie Learner Harpster. Mrs. Coxson was a homemaker. She also enjoyed crocheting, fishing and reading her bible. Her memberships included the Brookfield and Masury Methodist Church. She also was an honorary member of the Brookfield Conservation Club. Her husband, William H. Coxson, whom she married Sept. 19, 1926, died Oct. 1, 1972. Surviving are: six daughters, Mrs. Freda Karlovich, Brookfield; Mrs. Melda Syslo, Mrs. Wilma DeMay, Mrs. Brenda Cox, and Mrs. Carol Patterson, all of Masury; and Mrs. Irene Koosh, Hubbard; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by: her husband; a daughter, Billie Ann Frampton; two brothers, Frank and James Harpster; three sisters, Violet Woods, Nellie Mahaffey, and Alice Beighley; and three grandchildren, Jerry Frampton, Dennis Cox and Christina Mary.
COXSON Samuel W. Herriott Retired autobody manager built race car; liked outdoors Funeral service will be June 16 for Samuel W. Herriott, White-Cliff Nursing Home, 110 Fredonia Road, Hempfield Township, formerly of Sharpsville. He died at midnight June 7, 2002, in the nursing home. He was 79. Mr. Herriott was born to Jesse and Garloss McIntyre Herriott on Nov. 4, 1922, in Canfield, Ohio. He graduated in 1941 from Hartford High School in Ohio. Mr. Herriott was employed by DeForest Buick Cadillac, Sharon, as an autobody manager before retiring in 1982. Prior to that, he was self-employed as an autobody mechanic. Mr. Herriott was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church in Sharon. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also built a race car in the 1950's and 1960's. His wife, the former Norma Rohrdanz, whom he married April 17, 1948, died April 21, 1996. Surviving are: three sons, James A. Herriott, Gary L. Herriott and Samuel E. (Cathy) Herriott, all of Sharpsville; a sister, Dollie Steele, Las Vegas; Two brothers, Jesse (Catherine) Herriott, Mecca, Ohio, and Robert Herriott, Fowler, Ohio; four grandchildren, James L. Herriott, Brandon Herriott, Jennifer Marie Herriott and Julianna Nicole Herriott; and a step grandson, James David Wherry. He was preceded in death by his wife and a son, Jeffrey L. Herriott.
HERRIOTT Mia Eileen Patton Mia Eileen Patton, daughter of Timothy Maurice and Rebekah Kathleen Mills Patton, 428 Walnut St., Sharpsville, died at birth Thursday afternoon (6-6-02) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. Besides her parents, she leaves one brother, Anthony Maurice Patton, at home; and her grandparents, Gene and Jean Mills, Masury; Tom and Anna Mary Patton, South Pymatuning Township; and Patricia Cratsley Mills, Brookfield. Memorial contributions may be made to Shenango Valley Children's Transplant Fund, in care of First National Bank, 107 E. State St., Sharon 16146.
