Harold 'J.R.' Green
Retired farmer, fair director had worked at Westminster

Harold "J.R." Green, Glenn Road, New Castle RD 5, died at 9 a.m. Thursday, July 11, 2002, in his residence after an extended illness. He was 72.

Mr. Green was born March 24, 1930, on the family farm on Glenn Road to Harold D. Green Sr. and Mary Ella McQuiston Green.

A retired dairy farmer, he was a former maintenance worker at Westminster College in New Wilmington.

Mr. Green served for more than 20 years on the Lawrence County Fair board of directors.

He was a Navy veteran, having served for four years.

Mr. Green was a former member of Kings Chapel United Methodist Church and most recently belonged to Shenango Presbyterian Church, both New Castle, where his son serves as pastor. He enjoyed singing in the choir at both churches.

He was an avid golfer.

His wife, the former Janet Marie Barkley, whom he married May 16, 1951, died Nov. 27, 1989.

Surviving are: a son, the Rev. Harold "Bud" Green and his wife, Jennifer, New Castle; and their children, Cyla, Allie and Jordan Green; two daughters, Liza Green, New Wilmington; and Luan Werther and her husband, Bruce, New Castle; and their children, Carrie, Melinda, Zach and Rachel Werther; and three sisters, Virginia Zeigler, Matilda Lutz and Margaret Hanna, all New Castle.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Clifford and Harry Green.

Calvin L. 'Buck' Louise

Calvin L. "Buck" Louise, 308 Oakland Ave., Grove City, died at 6:02 p.m. Thursday (7-11-02) in the emergency room of UPMC Horizon, Greenville. He was 65.

Mildred M. Nadasky

Greenville resident retired from WE's Reynolds plant

Mildred M. Nadasky, 19 Homer St., Greenville, died Thursday evening (7-11-02) in UPMC Horizon, Greenville. She was 79.

Miss Nadasky was born July 20, 1922, in Greenville to Emery J. Nadasky and Emilia Bilchik Nadasky.

She attended the former Penn High School in Greenville and worked for 42 years at Westinghouse Electric Corp.'s Reynolds plant as an assembler, retiring in 1984.

Miss Nadasky was a member of St. Michael's Church in Greenville.

She enjoyed gardening and bowling.

Surviving are a sister, Mary Clauser, Erie; and several nieces and nephews.

Miss Nadasky was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Ann Zarecky and Evelyn Falkewitz; and four brothers, Frank, James, Michael and Rudolph Nadasky.

Marius W. Marrapese

Marius W. Marrapese, 3431 Rocky Glen Road, West Fallowfield Township, died at 2:45 a.m. today (7-12-02) in UPMC Horizon, Greenville. He was 88.

William Daniel Pancy

Michigan man was Sharon native, had sisters living here

MUSKEGON, Mich. -- William Daniel Pancy, North Muskegon, went to be with his Lord on Thursday morning, July 11, 2002, in Hackley Hospital. He was 70.

Mr. Pancy was born July 10, 1932, in Sharon to Daniel and Alice Gardenier Pancy.

Mr. Pancy served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict.

On Feb. 27, 1954, he married the former Jean Kovach in Biloxi, Miss.

Mr. Pancy was a graduate of Baker College, Muskegon, and was employed as a systems analyst at S.D. Warren, Muskegon, for 20 years until his retirement. He was also an adjunct teacher at Muskegon Community College and Baker College.

Mr. Pancy was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, North Muskegon.

He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them.

Bill had coached the North Muskegon Youth Football League for many years.

He enjoyed golfing at Lincoln Golf Course, Muskegon, where he was a member. He also enjoyed trapshooting.

His survivors include: his beloved wife, Jean; two sons, Daniel Pancy, North Muskegon; and James Pancy and his wife Kathy, Spring Lake, Mich.; two daughters, Patty Redeker, North Muskegon; and Mariann Queen and her husband Jeff, Milwaukee; 10 grandchildren; one brother, Emil Pancy and his wife Mary Lou, Phoenix; three sisters, Eleanor McPherson and Helen Zaborowski, both Sharon; and Estelle Denton, Richmond, Va.

Dianna Lynn Gibson Turner

Woodland Place nurse was '65 Mercer High grad

Dianna Lynn Gibson Turner, Pine Grove Trailer Court, Coolspring Township, died Wednesday evening, July 10, 2002, in UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh, after an extended illness. She was 54.

Mrs. Turner was born Aug. 15, 1947, in Mercer to Robert D. Gibson and Betty J. Snyder Gibson.

A 1965 graduate of Mercer High School, she was a licensed practical nurse at Woodland Place Inc., Coolspring Township, for more than 30 years.

Mrs. Turner was a member of Mercer Free Methodist Church.

As a nurse at Woodland Place, she was featured in an article published Friday, July 5, of this year in The Herald, for her dedication and excellence as a caregiver and her recent role as a patient awaiting a liver transplant.

Her husband, John Turner, whom he married in 1973, preceded her in death in 1989.

Surviving are: two sons, Josh M. Turner, Mercer; and Jeremy A. Turner, Sanford, Fla.; and his wife, Charity; and their four children, Dakatah and Ethan; and twins, Christopher Robert and Claire Elise; Dianna's parents, Mercer; a sister, Darlene E. Wilson, Grove City; and a brother, Robert W. Gibson and his wife, Vicki, Fredonia.
