Albert L. Latsko
Former shoe store manager_was WWII Army veteran

Albert L. Latsko, 663 Service Ave., Sharon, died peacefully in his sleep Saturday morning (7-27-02) at his home. He was 88.

Mr. Latsko was born Nov. 12, 1913 to John A. Latsko and Mary E. (Benjock) Latsko.

He married Marie (Kumancik) Latsko on Nov. 29, 1941.

He worked for the former Brooks Shoe Store in Farrell where he was a manager, the former Silvermans Shoe Store, the former Lustigs Shoe Store and Reyers Shoe Store, all Sharon. He also worked for Pic Electric, Farrell, as a salesman.

He was a member of St. Ann's Church, Farrell, where he was previously an usher.

Mr. Latsko was an Army veteran. He served during World War II. He was attached to the 164th Battalion, the Army Combat Corps of Engineers in the European Theater of Operations.

He was preceded in death by his wife on Oct. 8, 1966; his father on July 2, 1959; and his mother on March, 7, 1971; a sister, Mary Palko; three brothers, William Latsko, George Latsko and Charles Latsko.

He is survived by two sons, Michael Latsko and Lawrence Latsko, both Sharon; two brothers, Andrew E. Latsko, Brookfield, Thomas M. Latkso and his wife Rose, Farrell; a sister, Betty Jane Suchy and her husband John, Farrell.

Elizabeth M. Loosemore

Retired teller was member_of Church of Good Shepherd

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday (7-30-02) for Elizabeth M. Loosemore, Benezette, Pa.; formerly of Alcoma Street, Sharon; Bloomington, Ind.; Greensboro, N.C., and Hendersonville, N.C. She passed away at 5:57 p.m. Friday (7-26-02) in UPMC Montefiore Hospital, Pittsburgh, due to complications from a liver transplant she received over two-and-a-half years ago. She was 69.

Born Aug. 27, 1932 in West Middlesex, she was a daughter of Ann Rotunno Campbell and the late Joseph Ruffo.

A 1950 graduate of West Middlesex High School, she attended Youngstown State University for two years. Mrs. Loosemore was employed at First National Bank of Mercer County for 22 years and retired from First Union National Bank of Greensboro, as a chief teller after 10 years of service in 1994. She was also a licensed realtor in the state of North Carolina. While she resided in Greensboro, she was a member of the Forest Oaks Country Club.

Mrs. Loosemore's life centered around her children. She was an active member of the Kennedy Catholic High School Boosters Club, Bloomington High School Boosters and the South East Guilford High School Boosters. She was a founding member of Church of the Good Shepherd, West Middlesex, and the church's Altar Rosary Society and catering group. After moving from the Shenango Valley she became a member of Immaculate Conception Church of Hendersonville, N.C.

An enthusiastic homemaker who was proud of her home and family, she particularly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading, gardening and was a fantastic cook.

On June 2, 2001, while she was a patient at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, Elizabeth and her husband Allan Garr Loosemore, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. The staff of the hospital graciously gave the couple a proper anniversary celebration. The event also caught media attention and was covered by WTAE Channel 4 News and the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. The piece ran under the tile, "A Love Story."

In addition to her husband, survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Bernard (Michelle) Vorndran, Madison, Ohio, and Mrs. James (Deanna) Horwitz, Hendersonville; three sons, Allan G. Loosemore Jr., Evansville, Ind., Mark E. Loosemore and his wife Jean, Bloomington, Ind., and Scott B. Loosemore and his wife Lori of McLeanville, N.C.; her mother and step-father Clifford Campbell, New Castle; two brothers, Albert Ruffo and his wife Sandra, West Middlesex, and Lawrence Ruffo and his wife Paula, Kernersville, N.C.; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her father, two brothers, Joseph Ruffo Jr. and Charles Ruffo, preceded her in death.
