Francis J. David Sr. Decorated veteran was Harley Davidson enthusiast A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday for Francis J. David Sr. of 43 Lakeview Drive in Lackawannock Township. He passed away at 1:50 a.m. Friday (8-2-02) in his residence following a lengthy illness. He was 56. He was born June 4, 1946, in Sharon, a son of Joseph David Jr. and Helen Olenik David. He was a 1964 alumnus of West Middlesex High School. Mr. David was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers and worked out of local union hall #66 for 35 years. He was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd in West Middlesex and belonged to the Slovak Home in Farrell; and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6233, West Middlesex. Mr. David was a Harley Davidson enthusiast and enjoyed working on and restoring automobiles. He was a decorated war veteran, having served in the Vietnam conflict from 1965 to 1967. Mr. David received numerous honors, including the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, two Overseas Bars, Mechanic Qual Badge, Vietnam Campaign Medal and Vietnam Service Medal. He leaves his wife, the former Katherine "Tass" Stefanak, whom he married Nov. 25, 1971. Also surviving are: his daughter, Julia Ann David, Cleveland; four sons, Christopher G. David, Charlotte, N.C.; Francis J. David Jr. and his wife Dr. Kerrie David, North Canton, Ohio; and Andrew David and Michael David, both at home; two grandchildren, Jessica Daryl Williams and Maximillian Elliot David; two sisters, Carol Carson, Levittown, Pa.; and Mrs. John (Barbara) Urban, Sharpsville; and three brothers, Joseph David III, Sharon; Steve David and his wife Darlene, Yardley, Pa.; and James David and his wife Judy, Grove City. Mr. David was preceded in death by his parents.
DAVID Olivia J. Pryts Hermitage woman was member of Episcopal church Olivia J. Pryts, 2515 Rombold Road, Hermitage, died at 12:15 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, 2002, in Nugent Convalescent Home, Hermitage. She was 80. Mrs. Pryts was born Feb. 17, 1922, in Sharon to John Urdea and Anna Boila Urdea. She attended Sharon schools and retired in 1972 with 25 years of service from the former Montgomery Ward store in the Shenango Valley. Mrs. Pryts was a member of Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Hermitage. Her husband, Ernest W. Pryts, whom she married on April 12, 1944, died Dec. 30, 1999. Surviving are: one son, Thomas J. Pryts, Hermitage; one daughter, Mrs. L. Keith (Janis) Fammartino, Beaver Falls, Pa.; one sister, Ann Marks, Sharon; one brother, Thomas Urdea, Poland, Ohio; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Besides her husband, Mrs. Pryts was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Betty Shrawder and Matilda Deflin; and two brothers, John and Pif Urdea. Memorial contributions may be made to Redeemer Trust Fund, 5130 E. State St., Hermitage 16148.
PRYTS Josh Ryan Hecht ATLANTA -- Josh Ryan Hecht, Duluth, Ga., passed away Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002, in Northside Hospital. He was eight days old. Josh was born July 26, in Northside Hospital, a son of Jon and Leslie Hecht. Survivors other than his parents include: his sisters, Jennifer and Mariesa; and a brother, Alex; his maternal grandparents, Ray and Norma Ackerman, Mercer; aunts and uncles, Randy and Mary Ann Ackerman, Waynesboro, Pa.; Carol Hecht, Columbus, Ga.; and Jay Hecht, Duluth. Josh was preceded in death by his grandparents, J.B. Hecht Jr. and Jane Weil Hecht, Columbus. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
HECHT Ralph Glendon 'Glen' Lingle Jackson Twp. man was retired gov't engineer Ralph Glendon "Glen" Lingle, 221 Itawambi Trail, Jackson Township, died at 3:35 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, 2002, in Grove Manor, Grove City, following a brief illness. He was 92. Mr. Lingle was born Oct. 12, 1909, in Harrisburg to Orville Lingle and Katherine Lentz Lingle. A graduate of Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa., he retired as an electrical engineer for the federal government, where he had been employed with the Naval Department, Air Force and Federal Aviation Administration, all Washington, D.C. Mr. Lingle was a member of Center Presbyterian Church in Grove City and was an avid student of the Bible. He left a legacy of prayer for his entire family. "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of one of his saints." Psalms 116:15 His wife, the former Ethel Virginia Nusbaum, whom he married Dec. 24, 1933, died April 18, 1989. Surviving are: two sons, the Rev. Dave Lingle and his wife Betty, Mercer; and Russ Lingle and his wife Jo, Baltimore; and five grandchildren, Don Lingle, Dayton, Ohio; Debbie, wife of Scott Gluck, Lansing, Mich.; Wendy, wife of Josh Feigl, Chicago; Scott Lingle, Baltimore; and Brian Lingle and his wife, Jodi, Toccoa, Ga. Besides his wife, Mr. Lingle was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ken and Bill Lingle; and one sister, Myrtle Bell. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Liberty Christian Counseling Services, 1522 Liberty Road, #B, Sykesville, Md. 21784; or Center Presbyterian Church, 333 Center Church Road, Grove City 16127.
LINGLE Mary Louise Williams Mercer woman was member of Chesnut Ridge church Mary Louise Williams, 23 Watson Road, Mercer, died at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, 2002, in the Skilled Care unit of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 78. Mrs. Williams was born Jan. 8, 1924, in Sharon to William Leroy Mosley and Mabel Agnes Moore Mosley. A loving mother, wife and friend, she was a member of Chestnut Ridge Church of God in Hubbard Township. She married William J. Williams Sr., Aug. 17, 1940. He survives at home. Also surviving are: one daughter, Charlotte J. Walker and her husband James A., Sharon; one son, William J. Williams Jr. and his wife Betty, McDonald, Ohio; one sister, Shirley J. Blough, Sharon; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Sandra L. Johnson; and one brother, Harold Mosley. Memorial contributions may be made to the Board of Benevolence and Fellowship Fund of Chestnut Ridge Church of God, 7215 Chestnut Ridge Road, Hubbard, Ohio 44425.
