Margaret N. Flaugher Church Ex-New Castle homemaker had daughter in Hermitage NEW CASTLE -- Margaret N. Flaugher Church, formerly of Oakwood Way, New Castle, died at 1:20 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, 2002, in Jameson Care Center. She was 97. Mrs. Church was born April 26, 1905, in Willard, Ky., to James W. Flaugher and Medusa B. Graham Flaugher. Her husband, Wayne E. Church, died in 1980. Mrs. Church was a homemaker and member of First Church of the Nazarene in New Castle. She also belonged to Gold Star Mothers; American Legion Auxiliary; and Service Star Legion 176. Surviving are: five children, William W. Church, Evelyn M. Loveridge and Gary L. Church, all New Castle; J. Paul Church, St. Cloud, Fla.; and Lealia J. Doutt, Hermitage; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, Mrs. Church was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Florence Schuster and Irene Lange; and seven brothers, Orville, Riley, Kenneth, James, Scott, Homer and Murray; a son, James Church; and a grandson, Charles Loveridge.

William M. Fulford Union carpenter belonged to several organizations William M. Fulford of 176 Brook Drive, Brookfield, died at 6:38 p.m. Friday (8-9-02) at home. He was 64. Mr. Fulford was born May 6, 1938, a son of William J. and Belva J. Mohney Fulford. He served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Fulford was a union carpenter for Local 268 of the Carpenters union, Sharon, for more than 22 years. His memberships included Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 327; and American Carpatho-Russian Citizens and Social Club, both Sharon; Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8860, Masury; Slovak Home and Italian Home, both Farrell; and American Legion Post 432, Wheatland. Survivors include: six children, William D. Fulford, Minnesota; James Fulford, Rock Island, Ill.; Robert Fox, Scranton, Pa.; Stephanie Fox, Bradenton, Fla.; Yvonne Frantz, Transfer; and Sherry Keeler, Ellenton, Fla.; one sister, Mary Louise Malkin, Burghill; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. His father preceded him in death. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation.
FULFORD Leo Popeski Leo Popeski, 745 Dutch Lane, Lot 71, Hermitage, died at 10:56 p.m. Friday (8-9-02) in the emergency room of UPMC Horizon, Farrell. He was 74. Obituary information was incomplete.
POPESKI Fred Joseph Grasinger Pardoe man was retired from Greenville Steel Car Fred Joseph Grasinger, Grasinger Lane, Findley Township, in the community of Pardoe, died at 12:05 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, 2002, in United Community Hospital, Pine Township, following an extended illness. He was 87. Mr. Grasinger was born June 12, 1915, in Pardoe, Findley Township, to Tressa Grasinger. He retired in 1980 from the former Greenville Steel Car, later called Trinity Industries. Mr. Grasinger was a former member of St. Hermeneguild Catholic Church in Pardoe and currently attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Mercer. He was a former member of Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 1637, Mercer; and the local United Mine Workers union. Mr. Grasinger was an avid sportsman who loved to hunt and fish. His wife, the former Marie Ann Lizzie, whom he married June 24, 1944, survives at the residence in Pardoe. Also surviving are: three daughters, Marty Grasinger, Struthers, Ohio; Kathie Moore, Mercer; and Mrs. Ronald (Karen) Shollenberger, Fredonia; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother.

A memorial for Mr. Jordan will be held at 11 a.m. Aug. 17, 2002, in the chapel of Grace United Methodist Church, Grove City. Mildred W. Shannon Greenville homemaker was First Presbyterian member Mildred W. Shannon of 11 Chambers Ave., Greenville, died at 6:45 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, 2002, in UPMC Horizon, Greenville. She was 99. Born Aug. 29, 1902, in Fredonia, Mrs. Shannon was a daughter of Vern and Maud Stubbs Richards. She attended the former Sharon Business School and was a homemaker. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Greenville and was a past member of Pymatuning Yacht Club of Jamestown. Mrs. Shannon enjoyed decorating her home. She married William Richard Shannon Sr. in February 1920. He died May 13, 1980. She is survived by: one daughter, Mrs. William Richard (Norma June) Loch, Chevy Chase, Md.; a daughter-in-law, Sarah Shannon, Jamestown; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, Mrs. Shannon was preceded in death by her parents; a son, William Richard Shannon Jr.; and a sister, Marjorie Ritenour. Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 323 Main St., Greenville 16125.
