PHOENIX -- A funeral service will be held Tuesday for Verona Holic Toth, a resident of Phoenix, formerly of Sharon. She passed away Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2002, in J and L Assisted Living Center. She was 89.

Born Oct. 19, 1912, in Duquesne, Pa., Ms. Toth was a daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Holic Toth.

Ms. Toth spent her earlier years as a resident to Daisytown, Pa.

In 1927, after the death of her father, her family moved to Sharon. In the late 1930s she then moved to Hollywood, Calif., and finally from there, joined her sister in Phoenix.

Verona was a secretary for the American Red Cross for a period of time and was of the Orthodox faith.

Survivors include: two sisters, Anne Toth, Masury; and Elizabeth Ethel Vrankovich, Brookfield; one brother, George Toth, Hermitage; and a host of nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and -nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Holic Toth Groskopf and Helen Holic Toth Hall; and three brothers, Joseph, John and Andrew Toth.
