PHILLIPS John P. Polando Sharon Country Club member was YSU grad WEIRTON, W.VA. -- John P. Polando of 1435 Tomilu Drive, Girard, Ohio, died Saturday evening (8-17-02) in Weirton. He was 52. Mr. Polando was born July 30, 1950, in Youngstown, a son of Paul and Mary Horney Polando. He was a lifelong area resident. A 1972 graduate of Youngstown State University, Mr. Polando was the manager of Flat Roll Products Division for United Steel Service in Masury for 19 years. He was a member of St. Rose Church in Girard; Sharon Country Club; and had been vice president of the Ursuline High School Band Boosters, Youngstown. Besides his wife, the former Michele Rand, whom he married Sept. 1, 1973, he leaves: a son, Evan Polando; and a daughter, Meredith Polando, both at home; two brothers, Paul Polando, Orlando, Fla.; and Monsignor Peter Polando of St. Matthias Parish in Youngstown. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Beatitude House; or Ursuline Band Boosters.
POLANDO Marian K. Patton Hubbard woman was store manager, golfer Marian K. Patton, of 8135 Bedford Road SE, Hubbard, passed away Monday morning (8-19-02) in her residence following an extended illness. She was 58. Marian was born Sept. 4, 1943, in Sharon, a daughter of Leonard D. Price Sr. and Dorothy J. Bateman Price. Marian was a 1961 graduate of Hubbard High School and a lifelong Hubbard resident. She was a homemaker; manager of the former Ben Franklin store located on West Liberty Street in Hubbard; and a past president of the Oak Tree Ladies Golf Association, Shenango Township. Marian enjoyed quilting, gardening, golfing, cooking and spending time with her family. She leaves: her husband, Richard S. Patton, whom she married Dec. 19, 1981; her mother, Dorothy J. Price, Hubbard; a son, Norman J. Handzush, Boca Raton, Fla.; two daughters, Mrs. Sal (Susan L.) DeJulio, Hubbard; and Mrs. Tom (Patricia A.) Robinson, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; two stepsons, Rick Patton, Tampa, Fla.; and Ken Patton, Beale Air Force Base, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Deborah Draper, Bartow, Fla.; two brothers, William H. Price, Chandler, Ariz.; and Thomas L. Price, Boardman, Ohio; two grandchildren, Salvatore DeJulio and Sarah DeJulio; six stepgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, including a very special niece, Mrs. Chris (Heather Price) Papayoti. A brother, Leonard D. Price Jr., as well as her father, are deceased. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Dr. Azodi Gynecology/Oncology Research Fund in care of Cancer Care Center, 1044 Belmont Ave., Youngstown, Ohio 44501.
