Carl Donald 'Don' Jones Springfield man ran Sharon Steel locomotive A funeral service will be held Wednesday for Carl Donald "Don" Jones, Leesburg-Grove City Road, Springfield Township, formerly of Grove City and Fredonia. He died at 3:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, 2002, in UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh, following a brief illness. He was 63. Mr. Jones was born May 4, 1939, in Grove City to Carl C. Jones and Rhoda Lean Jones. A 1958 graduate of Grove City High School, he retired in 1997 from the former Sharon Steel Corp.'s Farrell plant, where he was a plant locomotive engineer. Mr. Jones was a member of Grace United Methodist Church; and Free and Accepted Masons Lodge 603; both Grove City; and Scottish Rite New Castle Consistory. He also belonged to Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 55, Farrell; and Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Lodge 1579, Grove City. A former member of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves, Mr. Jones belonged to American Legion Post 220 in Grove City. Surviving are: his wife, the former L. Kathy Anderson, whom he married July 24, 1987, at home; two daughters, Mrs. L. Ed (Robin) Heckathorn, Sharon; and Mrs. Karl F. (Terry L.) Hart, Grove City; two stepsons, Richard L. Rodemoyer and his wife Jena, Mercer; and Casey J. Rodemoyer, Lake Forest, Calif.; one sister, Dorothy "Dotty" Atcheson, wife of John R. "Jack" Atcheson, Grove City; five grandchildren, Todd Heckathorn, Corey Hart, Jacob Hart, Haley Rodemoyer and Hannah Rodemoyer; and two nephews, Michael and Douglas Atcheson. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents.
JONES Barbara A. Weeks Ohio woman was Sharon native, Methodist
NORWALK, Ohio -- Barbara A. Weeks, Norwalk, formerly of Jackson, Tenn. and Sharon, died at 5 p.m. Saturday evening (8-24-02) in Fisher-Titus Medical Center. She was 78. Mrs. Weeks was born Nov. 7, 1923, in Sharon to the late Edward A. and Estelle Geiser DeMuth. She came to the Norwalk area in 1996 from Jackson, Tenn. She was a member of Norwalk First United Methodist Church and had been a member of Jackson United Methodist Church in Tennessee. Mrs. Weeks enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing bridge, and was an avid reader. She also enjoyed artistic painting. She is survived by: her husband of 57 years, Raymond J. Weeks, Norwalk; her sons and daughters-in-law, the Rev. Bob Weeks and Cathy Weeks, North Vernon, Ind.; and Bill and Sandra Weeks, Hockessin, Del.; her daughters and sons-in-law, Beth and Don Careless, Genesee, Pa.; Mary Arden and Steve Jones, Cincinnati, Ohio; and Claudia and Ross Huntzinger, Mohnton, Pa.; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Jeanne Perkins, Reading, Pa. Besides her parents, Mrs. Weeks was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert and Richard DeMuth; and one grandson. McINTYRE Shy-Anne Leigh Fansler Shy-Anne Leigh Fansler of 150 Fourth Ave., Sharon, died at 12:22 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, 2002, in the emergency room of Sharon Regional Health System after becoming ill at home. She was two months old. Born June 15, 2002, in Farrell, Shy-Anne was a daughter of C. Kevin Fansler; and Theresa A. Somppi, both of Sharon. In the short time she was on this earth, Shy-Anne brought so much joy into the hearts of those who loved her. In addition to her parents, she is survived by: a sister, Railyn Somppi, at home; her maternal grandparents, Frank and Ingrid Bombardieri III, Sharon; her paternal grandmother, Katie Fansler, Sharon; her paternal grandfather, Charles Fansler, Mebane, N.C.; maternal great-grandparents, Frank Bombardieri Jr. and Pat Bombardieri, Hermitage; her maternal great-grandmother, Herta Somppi, Orlando, Fla.; her paternal great-grandmother, Charlotte Fansler, Elkins, W.Va.; her paternal great-grandmother, Georgia, wife of Rodney Wojtanoski, Hermitage; her paternal great-grandfather, Robert Gaudreau, Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; and two aunts, Brittany N. Bombardieri, Sharon; and Crystal D. Fansler, Sharon. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the family of Shy-Anne Leigh Fansler, 264 E. State St., Sharon 16146.
FANSLER Freda M. Consiglio Greenville woman belonged to St. Michael's Freda M. Consiglio, Hempfield Township, formerly of 103 S. Second St., Greenville, died at 11:35 a.m. Sunday (8-25-02) in White-Cliff Nursing Home. She was 79. Mrs. Consiglio was born Aug. 22, 1923, in Geneva., Pa., to Clarence Williams and Mabel Hood Williams. She attended East Fallowfield (Township) School and was employed for three years in the janitorial department of St. Michael's School in Greenville. Mrs. Consiglio previously worked for many years as a laborer for Blazon Inc. of Jamestown. She was a member of St. Michael's Church in Greenville. Her husband, Frank J. Consiglio, whom she married on June 10, 1948, died Sept. 6, 1988. Surviving are: three daughters, Mrs. Richard (Mable Earlene) Raine, The Village, Fla.; Mrs. Junior (Grace) Lawrence, Reddick, Fla.; and Mrs. Joseph L. (Ann Marie) Fry, Holland, Ohio; four sons, Frank J. Consiglio Jr., William G. Consiglio, John M. Consiglio and James M. Consiglio, all Greenville; a brother, Glenn Williams, also Greenville; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Besides her husband, Mrs. Consiglio was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Hazel Raiti and Hallie Tate; and two brothers, Harry and Earl Williams. Memorial contributions may be made to the Endowment Fund of St. Michael's School, 85 N. High St., Greenville 16125.
