Ruth M. Burdick Teacher served in Beloved Disciple church Ruth M. Burdick, Collegeview Towers, 301 S. Broad St., Grove City, formerly of West Caldwell, N.J.; Peters Township, Washington County; and West Washington Boulevard in Grove City, died at 3:20 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2002, in Orchard Manor, Pine Township. She was 89. Mrs. Burdick was born March 24, 1913, in Orange, N.J., to Richard Harnon Monaghan and Mary Trager Monaghan. She attended Glassboro (N.J.) College and was a graduate of Newark Normal School of Newark, N.J. Mrs. Burdick was an elementary school teacher in West Caldwell and served as a substitute in Keystone Oaks School District in the Pittsburgh area. As a member of Church of the Beloved Disciple in Grove City, she served as coordinator of the Prayer Chain. Her husband, Reginald E. Burdick, whom she married April 16, 1938, died Feb. 11, 1977. Surviving are: a daughter-in-law, Susan Burdick, Grove City; two grandchildren, Gregory D. Burdick and his wife Toi, Lakeland, Fla.; and Seth P. Burdick, Grove City; two nephews, Richard Ippolito and his wife Susan, Eatontown, N.J.; and William Ippolito, Gillitte, N.J.; and one granddaughter, Miranda Burdick, Lakeland. Besides her husband, Mrs. Burdick was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Robert E. Burdick; and one sister, Marjorie Ippolito. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Ruth M. Burdick to the Building Fund of Church of the Beloved Disciple, 321 N. Broad St., Grove City 16127.
BURDICK Elizabeth Maude Burt Ex-Sharon woman was Farrell hospital worker Elizabeth Maude Burt, Masury, formerly of Sharon, died of natural causes at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2002, in Orange Village Care Center, Masury. She was 89. Mrs. Burt was born July 31, 1913, in Freehold, Pa., to Jonah McIntyre and Ina Faulkner McIntyre. She was employed for 10 years in the kitchen of what was then Shenango Valley Osteopathic Hospital, Farrell. Mrs. Burt was a member of Orangeville Baptist Church. Her husband, Ralph F. Burt Sr., whom she married on June 22, 1933, died Oct. 9, 1987. Surviving are: one daughter, Mrs. David (Sarah) Thomas, Sharon; one son, Ralph Burt Jr. and his wife Connie, Hermitage; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, Mrs. Burt was preceded in death by one daughter, Margaret Callahan; one son, Jonah Burt; one grandson, Richard Fout; three sisters; and one brother.
BURT Rocky S. Combine National Forge retiree was Sharpsville native ERIE -- Rocky S. Combine of 1471 Nicholson St., Erie, died Monday evening, Aug. 26, 2002, in St. Vincent Health Center. He was 82. Mr. Combine was born Aug. 16, 1920, in Sharpsville, a son of the late Antonio and Domenica Campagna. He lived in Erie since 1949 and worked at National Forge in Erie for 32 years, retiring in 1983. Mr. Combine served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He enjoyed golfing and gardening. Mr. Combine is survived by: his wife of 53 years, the former Mary M. Morabito, at home; two sons, Anthony Combine, Erie; and Rocco J. Campagna and his wife Donna, Mechanicsville, Va.; and one grandson, Steven J. Combine, Erie. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 643 W. 17th St., Erie 16502; or to Glenwood YMCA, 3725 Cherry St., Erie 16508.
COMBINE Gaetano 'Guy' J. Crivello WE retiree was active St. Joe's member Gaetano "Guy" J. Crivello of John XXIII Home, Hermitage, formerly of Bentley Avenue in Sharon and Hamilton Avenue in Farrell, passed away at 11:28 p.m. Tuesday (8-27-02) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System after a brief illness. He was 88. Mr. Crivello was born Oct. 26, 1913, in Farrell, a son of Frank and Catherine DiCarlo Crivello. Mr. Crivello was a 1930 alumnus of Farrell High School and was employed for 31 years as a machinist for the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp., from which he retired in 1976. Mr. Crivello was an active member of St. Joseph's Church in Sharon, where he served as an usher and was a member of the Holy Name Society and a Friday night bingo volunteer. He also belonged to Knights of Columbus Council 684 in Sharon; and the Fourth Degree Sharon Assembly. Mr. Crivello was a member of American Carpatho-Russian Citizens and Social Club in Sharon. His wife, the former Mary Wiley Vaccaro, whom he married Nov. 26, 1959, passed away March 14, 1998. He is survived by: his daughter, Mary Lynne Piroga; and his two grandchildren, Amy and Jimmy Piroga, all Jamestown. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Rose Crivello and Nina Michelangelo. Memorial contributions may be made to John XXIII Home, 2250 Shenango Valley Freeway, Hermitage 16148.
CRIVELLO Dr. Andrew Mudrak Mandell Former valley doctor had relatives living here PORT ORANGE, Fla. -- Dr. Andrew Mudrak Mandell, Titusville, Fla., formerly of Hermitage, who practiced medicine in the valley for many years, died Sunday morning, Aug. 4, 2002, in a hospice in Port Orange, Fla., after a short illness. He was 74. Dr. Mandell was born Oct. 12, 1928, in Hickory Township, now Hermitage, to Michael Mudrak and Tessie Baranik Mudrak. Surviving are: a sister, Olga O'Grady, Hermitage; three brothers, Paul Mandell, Mercer; Joseph Mudrak, Hermitage; and Alec Mudrak, Titusville, Fla.; two daughters, Kathy and Sabina; and many nieces and nephews. Dr. Mandell was preceded in death by his brothers, Mike, a former Hermitage commissioner for many years; Steve and Walter; John, a longtime physics teacher in Hermitage School District; Harry; and Raymond, who before moving to Florida taught physics at Sharon High School; and two sisters, Nell Teglo, Hermitage; and Anna Malenski, Alpena, Mich.

McINTYRE Christian Edward Rodgers VIRGINIA DALE, Colo. -- Christian Edward Rodgers, Virginia Dale, formerly of Chatham, Ill., died at 2:45 a.m. Saturday (8-24-02) from injuries sustained in an automobile crash near his home. He was 31. Obituary information was incomplete.
