Mattie Lou Cromartie, 1014 Hamilton Ave., Farrell, died at 10:28 p.m. Saturday (8-31-02) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 70.

Jeanne Roberta Hutley

METAIRIE, La. -- Jeanne Roberta Hutley, 4705 Belle Drive, Metairie, La., formerly of Sharon, died at 7:45 p.m. Friday (8-30-02) in East Jefferson Hospital after an extended illness. She was 72.

Harold M. McGonigle

Retired businessman enjoyed family, golf

NEW CASTLE -- Harold M. McGonigle, Kingswood Road, New Castle RD3, passed away Sunday morning, Sept. 1, 2002, in the hospital of Jameson Heath System. He was 65.

Born Oct. 30, 1936, in New Castle, Harold was a son of J. Bradley McGonigle and Margaret D. Hogue McGonigle.

A 1954 graduate of New Castle High School, he graduated from Youngstown College, now Youngstown State University. Harold was employed for 18 years at Lloyd-Johnson Co. Inc. in Butler, for which he served as president.

He enjoyed playing golf and was a member of New Castle Country Club. He also enjoyed spending time with his family.

His wife, the former Mary Lou Fornataro, whom he married on June 7, 1958, survives at home.

Besides his wife, he also leaves: one daughter, Sherri A. Langhans, wife of Dr. Mark Langhans, Baden, Pa.; two sons, Michael H. McGonigle and his wife Barbara, Excelsior, Minn.; and Brian P. McGonigle and his wife Trisha, Butler; his mother, New Castle; three brothers, J. Bradley McGonigle and his wife Mary Ellen, Hermitage; David M. McGonigle and his wife Helen, Conneaut Lake; and Martin P. McGonigle and his wife Kathleen, New Castle; and nine grandchildren.

Harold was preceded in death by his father, who passed away on Jan. 12, 1991; two brothers, James H. McGonigle, who passed away on June 11, 1977; and Shawn T. McGonigle, on Nov. 1, 1981.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Organ Restoration Fund of Mary Mother of Hope Parish, 124 N. Beaver St., New Castle 16101; or the American Heart Association, 59 N. Crescent Drive, Hermitage, Pa. 16148.

Helen Sekerak, a resident of The Overlook nursing home, New Wilmington, formerly of Mertz Towers, Sharpsville; and Hamilton Avenue, Farrell, died Sunday afternoon (9-1-02) in Jameson Hospital, New Castle. She was 76.

Frederick 'Fred' A. Mild

Westinghouse retiree enjoyed world travel

Frederick "Fred" A. Mild of 408 Quinby St., Sharon, passed away at 10:40 p.m. Saturday evening, Aug. 31, 2002, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. He was 86.

Born Oct. 21, 1915, in Sharon, Mr. Mild was a son of the late John and Katherine Drotloff Mild.

Mr. Mild was a 1934 graduate of Sharon High School and retired as a welder in 1977 from the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp., after 40 years of service.

A world traveler, Fred and his family enjoyed traveling, having been to every state in the United States and every continent in the world except Antarctica.

He was a member of the German Home; and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5286, both Farrell; and was an associate member of the Fraternal Order of Police Rose of Sharon Lodge 3.

Fred was a World War II Army veteran, having served in the Pacific theater. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include: his wife, the former Ann Zerovich, whom he married Dec. 2, 1950; one daughter, Mrs. Roger K. (Deborah) Pihlaja, Sanford, Mich.; one son, Kenneth J. Mild, Sharon, who serves as a city police patrolman; one sister, Hilda Rankin, Sebring, Ohio; and two grandchildren, Daniel and Gary Pihlaja.

In addition to his parents, three brothers, August, William and Carl Mild preceded him in death.
