Jack Lloyd Grimm
Grimm's CEO was active in Community of Christ

Jack Lloyd Grimm, 190 Smith Ave., Sharon, died at 8 a.m. Wednesday (9-18-02) in Woodland Place, Coolspring Township, after an extended illness. He was 77.

Mr. Grimm was born June 19, 1925, in Sharon to Walter Lloyd Grimm and Cora Mae Swartz Grimm.

He attended Sharon High School and was employed at Grimm's Inc., where he was chief executive officer and salesman. For 57 years, he worked in the family business.

Mr. Grimm was an active member of Community of Christ in Sharon.

In his early years, Jack was active in the Jaycees organization and once was awarded its "Man of the Year" Award.

He also received the Key Man Certificate of the Junior Chamber of Commerce of the Shenango Valley in May 1958.

A U.S. Navy veteran, he served for three years, from Aug. 31, 1943 to April 5, 1946, on active duty in the South Pacific.

His wife, the former Betty D. Polonus, whom he married Sept. 11, 1946, survives.

Also surviving are: two daughters, Joyce A. Boren, Waynesville, Mo.; and Cindy S. Rowe, Sharon; one brother, Walter B. Grimm, Hermitage; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Mr. Grimm was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Deedra J. Boren; and one sister, Verla M. Stroble.

Anna Resler

Sharon woman was league bowler, St. Joe's member

Anna Resler, 798 Service Ave., Sharon, passed away at 5:10 a.m. Wednesday (9-18-02) in Clepper Manor, Sharon. She was 92.

Mrs. Resler was born Feb. 10, 1910, in Sharpsville, a daughter of John Virostick and Martha Petak Virostick.

She attended school in what was Hickory Township, now Hermitage.

Early in her life, Mrs. Resler was a coilwinder at the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Sharon and was a former member of Catholic Daughters of the Americas Sharon Court 507.

An avid bowler, Anna also belonged to the Monday Night Ladies League at Thornton Hall Lanes in Sharon; the F.H. Buhl Club Duck Pin League; and the Ten Pin League at Sharpsville Bowling Center.

Her husband, Louis W. Resler, whom she married April 26, 1920, at the former St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church in Farrell, survives at home. Mrs. Resler also leaves: three sons, Louis W. Resler Jr. and his wife Beverly, Bethlehem, Pa.; James Edward Resler and his wife Florence, Ballston Spa, N.Y.; and Paul Andrew Resler, Englewood, Colo.; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, George, Michael and Joseph Virostick; three sisters, Mary Leonard, Kathryn Frei and Helen Sember; and one grandson, Timothy Resler.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Stephen Simco Jr.

Packard retiree was formerly of Brookfield

PHOENIX -- Stephen Simco Jr. of Phoenix, formerly of Brookfield, beloved husband and father, died Saturday, Sept. 14, 2002, in St. Joseph's Hospital following an extended illness. He was 67.
    Steve graduated from Brookfield High School and Youngstown State University.
    He served in the Navy after high school and retired from Delphi Packard Electric Systems in Warren, Ohio.
    His greatest loves were his family, traveling to visit his daughters and grandson, and Buckeye football.
    He is survived by: his wife of 43 years, Mary Jane (Rado); three daughters, Mrs. Jon (Cynthia) Rosse' of New Windsor, N.Y.; Mrs. John (Kathryn) Schaaf of Chicago; and Ms. Karen Simco of Phoenix; a grandson, Jack Schaaf; and a brother, Ronald Simco of Brookfield.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Vera and Stephen Simco Sr.
    Memorial contributions may be made to Unity School of Phoenix, 1500 E. Greenway Parkway, Phoenix 85022; or to a local blood bank.
    A memorial service was held Sept. 17 in Phoenix.


Katherine Taylor
Katherine Taylor, 129 Ellis Ave., Hermitage, died at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday (9-18-02) in her home. She was 81.
