Mark E. Schaller 1980 Sharpsville graduate traveled extensively Mark E. Schaller of 560 Dutch Valley Road, Atlanta, Ga., formerly of Clark, passed away Oct. 10 at his residence. He was 40. He was born July 18, 1962, in Farrell to Harold "Butch" and Janyce Ellis Schaller. Mark attended Sharpsville schools for 12 years and graduated with honors in 1980. He was also a 1984 Magna Cum Laude alumnus of California University of Pennsylvania where he had dual majors in information science and business management. He was most recently employed by SchlumbergerSema in Atlanta as the project support resource manager. He had previously worked for Eastman Kodak for 14 years in Rochester, NY, and Miami, Fla. While with the Eastman group he traveled extensively throughout the world to such places as London, Singapore, Mexico and Venezuela as an international financier. Mark enjoyed traveling and music. He was a member of the Clark Trinity United Methodist Church, Clark. He is survived by his parents of Clark; two sisters, Lori Schaller of Pittsburgh, and Beth Schaller of Edinboro, Pa.; a brother, Brian A. Schaller and his wife, Colleen of Sharon; two nieces, Jonquil and Mia; and two nephews, Brock and Maxwell. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
SCHALLER Russell D. Weaver Shenango Township man was laborer, Eagle Scout Russell D. Weaver of 90 Shenango Drive, Sunny View Mobile Home Park, Shenango Township, died unexpectedly at 2:51 a.m. Saturday (10-12-02) in the emergency room of Sharon Regional Health System. He was 49. He was born July 19, 1953 in Greenville to Russell L. and Ivagene (Horn) Weaver, South Pymatuning Township. He graduated from Sharpsville High School in 1971 and went on to the Culinary Institute in High Park, NY. He earned an associates degree in culinary arts. Mr. Weaver was currently working for CCL Container, Hermitage, as a laborer. He worked there for the past seven years. Prior to working there he worked as a prep cook for The Wave, Sharon. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Sharon. In his earlier days he was a Boy Scout and then became an Eagle Scout. He enjoyed canoeing and using his metal detector. He is survived by his parents; three brothers, Roger K. Weaver and his wife, Jeannie of South Pymatuning Township, Roy G. Weaver of Hermitage, and Randall I. Weaver and his wife, Sandra of Pensacola, Fla.; and two nephews, Charles and Jeremy Weaver.
WEAVER Beva L. Jones Masury woman retired from Strimbu Trucking Beva L. Jones, 729 Syme St., Masury, died at 2:10 a.m. Sunday (10-13-02) at the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 78. Mrs. Jones was born in Sharon on Dec. 22, 1923, a daughter of Robert and Eva Young Elliott. She was a 1941 graduate of Sharon High School. Mrs. Jones was retired from Strimbu Trucking, Brookfield, where she had been employed as a clerk for 10 years. Previously she had worked at Wilson Freight in Masury. Her memberships included the First United Methodist Church of Sharon where she was financial secretary and a very active member. She was also a member of several card clubs and the Golden Girls Club of Sharon. Her husband, Trevor L. Jones, whom she married Feb. 28, 1948, died Feb. 16, 1969. Survivors include a son, Douglas and his wife, Toni of Fowler, Ohio; a daughter, Mrs. Andrew (Kathleen) DeLorenzo of Mercer; a brother, Don Elliott of Midland, Texas; an aunt, Alma Young of Sharon; five grandchildren, Alice Layko, Jessie Canter, Bret Jones, Jeffrey DeLorenzo and Becky DeLorenzo; and four great-grandchildren, Daniel, Dillon and Gabriel Canter and Erik Layko. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son; and a brother, Bobby Elliott. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 237 W. Silver St., Sharon, Pa., 16146.
JONES William W. "Bill" Hether William W. "Bill" Hether, Hermitage, formerly of 1016 Walnut St., Farrell, passed away at 12:25 p.m. Sunday (10-13-02) in Nugent Convalescent Home, Hermitage. He was 79. Obituary information was incomplete.
HETHER John F. 'Jack' Collar Pine Township man was Cooper retiree, Odd Fellow John F. "Jack" Collar, 522 E. Main St. Ext., Pine Township, died at 7:45 a.m. Sunday (10-13-02) in Orchard Manor, Pine Township, where he resided for the past six weeks with an illness. He was 87. Mr. Collar was born Aug. 11, 1915, in Parkers Landing, Parker, Butler County, to John M. and Nina P. Martin Collar. He retired in 1967 from Cooper Energy Services, Grove City, where he was a supervisor. Mr. Collar was of the Methodist faith. He was a member of the International Order of Odd Fellows Lodge, Grove City. He was also a former civil defense police officer for the Grove City Police Department. He is survived by two sons, John L. "Louis" Collar of Grove City and Richard L. Collar and his wife, Anna Marie of Butler; two daughters, Kate Thompson and her husband, Richard N., and Shirley A. Wilson and her husband, Eugene P., all of Grove City; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen J. Cook, whom he married Sept. 19, 1936 and who died on June 27, 1989; his parents; three brothers, Guy, Robert and George "Jeff" Collar; and two sisters, Ann Donaldson and Amy Howard.
COLLAR Casimir F. 'Casey' Karolewski Hubbard man volunteered at church, played violin Casimir F. "Casey" Karolewski, Hubbard, died Sunday morning (10-13-02) at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Youngstown. He was 82. He was born Dec. 5, 1919, in Farrell, a son of Jacenty and Anna Kokot Karolewski and had lived in Hubbard since 1950. Mr. Karolewski was a pattern maker for the former Valley Mould and Iron Corp., Hubbard, for 30 years before he retired in 1980. Prior to this he worked for the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp. He was a member of St. Patrick Church, Hubbard, was a member of the former men's choir and did a great deal of volunteer work for the church, serving on many festival committees and doing remodeling and carpentry work at the old church building. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Msgr. Francis J. Hughes Council No. 2072, and had served with the Civilian Conservation Corps. He enjoyed carpentry work, woodworking and Polish music. In the late 1930s, he played the violin with the State of Pennsylvania Orchestra. He leaves his wife, the former Anne M. Janco, whom he married Feb. 6, 1944; a son, Roger C. Karolewski of Steamboat Springs, Colo.; two daughters, Gail Anne Arneson of Niles, Ohio, and Marylie Paulowski of Canton, Ohio; a brother, Zigmond Karolewski of Los Alamitos, Calif.; a sister, Betty Wolanski of Hubbard; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son, Allen Karolewski; a brother, Edmond Karolewski; and his parents.
