Carmen V. 'Rick' Bartholomew
Carmen V. "Rick" Bartholomew, 684 S. Stateline Road, Masury, died at 10:35 p.m. Monday (10-14-02) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System after a brief illness. He was 82.

Emma Jane Cubbison

Former Clark woman was longtime borough secretary

Emma Jane Cubbison of Woodland Place, Coolspring Township, formerly of Clark, passed away at 5:10 a.m. Tuesday (10-15-02) in the nursing home. She was 80.

She was born Sept. 27, 1922, in Farrell, the daughter of James D. Carlos Sr. and Emma Lena Lauer Carlos.

Mrs. Cubbison was 1940 alumna of Farrell High School.

She was borough secretary for Clark for many years. Holding an elected position, Mrs. Cubbison enjoyed politics. She was a member of the Young Democrats, which she also served as secretary.

Mrs. Cubbison was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6166 in Hermitage. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Farrell.

Her husband, James "Snappy" Cubbison, whom she married Sept. 5, 1942, died Dec. 6, 1993.

She leaves a sister, Inez Nichols, Hermitage; and her nieces and nephews, Mary Rita Kladitis; Joseph "Butch" Nichols and his wife, Marsha; Nancy Carlos; Marilyn Carlos; Tom Carlos and his wife, Sandy; and James Carlos and his wife, Judy.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, James D. Carlos Jr.; one infant brother; and one infant sister.

Jack E. Reagle, Marcia Street, Bakersfield, Calif., formerly of Hermitage, died Sunday (10-13-02) in his residence. He was 45.
