Florence 'Leona' Davidson Homemaker, church member worked at stores Florence "Leona" Davidson, 340 Rexford Drive, Hermitage, formerly of 417 Wilson St., Sharon, died at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2002, surrounded by her family in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System after an extended illness. She was 76. Mrs. Davidson was born Nov. 1, 1925, in Kane, Pa., to Melvin Benson and Hazel Ross Benson. She graduated in 1943 from Kane High School. She was a homemaker for most of her life and also worked for Holgate Toy Factory; the former Sharon Store, where she was a sales clerk; the former Ragg Doll Shop, Hermitage; and her daughter's store, the former Victorian Parlur, also Hermitage. As a member of First United Methodist Church in Sharon, Mrs. Davidson belonged to the Methodist women's group of the church. She enjoyed making dolls, especially Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls, sewing and traveling. She also enjoyed baking and was known for her apple pies. Mrs. Davidson was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her husband, Raymond Davidson, whom she married 59 years ago on Oct. 14, 1943, survives at home. Also surviving are: two daughters, Vickie L. Davis, Sharon; and Sherry R. Piddington and her husband George, also Sharon; four sisters, Dorie Nelson; Barbara Udovich and her husband Ivan; Marian Fitzella; and Rheta Tilberg and her husband Bus, all Kane; a brother, Raymond Benson, Nobelton, Fla.; two grandchildren, Brian Shander and his wife Kim, Sharon; and Marcie Campbell and her husband Tony, Williamsfield, Ohio; and two great grandchildren, Kristen Coonce, Williamsfield; and Samantha Clarke, Sharon. She also leaves special friends Billie and Sara Crawford, Sharon; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Davidson was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Karen Rae; and an infant sister. DAVIDSON Richard Allen Goheen Grandparents of California man live in Sharpsville SAN JOSE, Calif. -- A funeral service will be held Saturday for Richard Allen Goheen, San Jose. He died at 10:44 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, 2002, from injuries sustained in an accident in San Jose. He was 31. Mr. Goheen was born July 29, 1971, in Chardon, Ohio, to Theodore A. Goheen, New Bethlehem, Pa.; and Delores J. Cozine James, Sharpsville. He graduated in 1989 from Atlanta area schools and was later employed as a metal fabricator, also in Atlanta. He then worked in construction as a painter in San Jose. Mr. Goheen enjoyed hunting and fishing. Besides his parents, he is survived by: his wife, Judith Goheen, Charlotte, N.C.; a son, Kenneth Lamar Goheen, also Charlotte; two half brothers, Patrick and Benjamin Goheen, both New Bethlehem; and his grandparents, William E. and Mary A. Bailey, Sharpsville; and Velma Goheen, New Bethlehem. Mr. Goheen was preceded in death by his grandfather, Burtron Goheen.
GOHEEN Olivia Rose Horn EVANSTON, Ill. -- Olivia Rose Horn, Evanston, was born Sept. 17, 2002, and died Monday, Oct. 28, 2002, in Evanston Northwestern Hospital. She was one-month-old. She was the dear daughter of Christopher and Kelly Varlotta Horn of Illinois; and granddaughter of Janet Mazuer Varlotta of Penn Hills; and the late Frank Varlotta; and Frederick and Gretchen Horn of New Wilmington. She was preceded in death by her brother, Zachary Christopher Horn. HORN Gladys I. Owens Gladys I. Owens, 330 Coal Hill Road, West Salem Township, died Wednesday morning (10-30-02) in her home. She was 85. Obituary information was incomplete.
OWENS Josephine Ritz Former Masury woman was Connecticut native POLAND, Ohio -- Josephine Ritz of 7157 Forest Hill Ave., Poland, formerly of Masury, died at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday (10-29-02) in her home. She was 92. Mrs. Ritz was born Aug. 2, 1910, in Bridgeport, Conn., a daughter of Joseph and Sophie Bogacz Yuckienuz. She retired from Casco Products in Bridgeport after 30 years as an assembly worker. She moved to the area in 1993. Josephine enjoyed her family very much and attended St. Vincent de Paul Church in Vienna, as well as Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Lowellville, Ohio. Her husband, Andrew Ritz, whom she married Aug. 25, 1934, died Dec. 18, 1987. Survivors include three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Adrienne Ferguson; two sons, Andrew and Joel Ritz; two brothers, William and Leo Yuckienuz; and four sisters, Mary Skoda, Anne Moffet, Sophie Gabris and Margaret Yuckienuz. RITZ Pauline E. Zedaker Sharpsville native had brother, sister living here EAST PENNSBORO TOWNSHIP, Cumberland County -- Pauline E. Zedaker of Mechanicsburg, formerly of Green Lane Farms, Camp Hill, both Pennsylvania, died Monday afternoon (10-28-02) after a brave battle with breast cancer. She was 70. A beloved mother and grandmother, she enjoyed being with her children and attending her grandchildren's sports activities. Pauline was a member of Camp Hill United Methodist Church and its Miriam Circle. She retired from Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency as a legal action supervisor and previously worked at Motor Truck Equipment Co. and Sears. Mrs. Zedaker was born Aug. 15, 1932, in Sharpsville to the late Paul and Leila Gill. She attended Temple University in Philadelphia. The widow of Wilbur L. Zedaker and Robert A. Williams, she is survived by: a son, Robert M. Zedaker, Reading, Pa.; two daughters, Kathleen L. Buchanan, Mechanicsburg; and Adrienne L. Nichols, Harrisburg; two sons-in-law, Michael D. Buchanan, Mechanicsburg; and Richard N. Nichols, Harrisburg; four grandchildren, Lindsay C. and Marcie C. Buchanan, Mechanicsburg; and Jessica L. and Alexis A. Zedaker, Reading; a brother, Thurlo Gill, Sharpsville; a sister, Lois Moore, Sharon; and a longtime friend, Adam Weber, Camp Hill.
