Mabel Elizabeth Frantz Bickel
Bell retiree was speedways worker, tax preparer
Mabel Elizabeth Frantz Bickel, a resident since 1955 of 1022 E. Main St. Extension, Pine Township and Daytona Beach, Fla., died at 7 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002, in her residence after a one-year illness. She was 74.
Mrs. Bickel was born Aug. 18, 1929, in Pine Township to John B. Frantz and Emma Margaret Graham Frantz.
She was a graduate of Grove City High School Class of 1946 and for many years was a income tax preparer for self-employed individuals.
Mrs. Bickel retired from Bell Telephone Co. in Grove City, where she was a telephone operator and supervisor. She was also a former concession manager for Sharon Speedway for 15 years and an usher for the Winston Tower at Daytona Speedway in Daytona Beach.
She was an office manager at the former Grove City Hospital and at Divine Providence Hospital of Pittsburgh.
Mrs. Bickel was a member of Harmony Presbyterian Church in Harrisville. She enjoyed her family, NASCAR racing, cooking and flowers. She was also a Steelers fan.
Her husband, John A. Bickel Jr., whom she married June 5, 1948, survives at home.
Also surviving are: two children, Mrs. Richard R. (Sue Anne) Kennedy, Daytona Beach, Fla.; and John A. "Jack" Bickel III, and his wife Lori Lynn, Butler; one sister, Hazel M. Husing, Beaver Falls; one brother, John B. Frantz Jr. and his wife Jean, Grove City; and two grandchildren. Mrs. Bickel was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ernest Frantz and Newton Taylor Frantz; and two sisters, Grace Dorothy Shaffer and Florence Patricia McConnell.

YOUNGSTOWN -- Lenora C. "Moo" Tennant Moore, 684 Magnolia, Youngstown, formerly of the Shenango Valley, died at 6:50 p.m. Thursday (11-14-02) in Northside Medical Center. She was 77.
