Frances M. Hahne Holy Trinity member was Greenville seniors director Frances M. Hahne, White-Cliff Nursing Home, Hempfield Township, formerly of 9 Penn Ave. and 9 Rooney St., both Greenville, died at 7:35 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002, in the emergency room of UPMC Horizon, Greenville. She was 92. Mrs. Hahne was born Sept. 20, 1910, in Linesville to Milton T. Bullis and Eva M. Sewell Bullis. The 1927 graduate of the former St. Michael High School, Greenville, worked in food services for several years at Thiel College, Greenville. She also was a housekeeper and caregiver in the Greenville area. Mrs. Hahne was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Greenville, where she taught Sunday school classes. She was activities director for many years of Greenville Senior Citizens Center. Mrs. Hahne was a past member of Evangelical Lutheran Christian Women and enjoyed bingo, traveling, writing poetry and her grandchildren. Her husband, Robert W. Hahne Sr., whom she married Aug. 12, 1932, died Jan. 25, 1975. Surviving are: one daughter, Mrs. John (Janet) McCutcheon, Greenville; two sons, Robert W. Hahne Jr., Greenville; and Richard A. Hahne, Cooleemee, N.C.; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents. HAHNE Sue A. Combine '95 Brookfield High alumna was Catholic, animal lover Sue A. Combine of 7467 Stewart Sharon Road, Hubbard, Brookfield Township, died Saturday (11-16-02) in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Youngstown, after being stuck by a vehicle. She was 25. Ms. Combine was born Aug. 6, 1977, in Farrell, a daughter of Raymond and Janet Roth Combine. She was a 1995 graduate of Brookfield High School and a Catholic by faith. Ms. Combine was also an animal lover. Survivors include: her father, Raymond Combine, Greenville; her mother and stepfather, Janet Combine and Jim Baird, Hubbard; one son, Jeffrey, at home; one brother, Raymond Combine II, Masury; and her maternal grandparents, Carl and Sue Ruth, Masury. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Angelo and Charlotte Combine; and her maternal great-grandparents, John and Anne Geydos. COMBINE Gertrude Daniels Millbrook native owned, worked at local businesses HUDSON, Fla. -- Gertrude Daniels of Aripeka, Fla., formerly of Grove City and Greenville, passed away unexpectedly at 10:40 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, 2002, in Regional Hospital of Bayonet Point. She was 76. Mrs. Daniels was born in the Millbrook area of Mercer County on May 18, 1926, to Clarence and Hazel Hoovler Westlake. She was past senior regent of Benevolent and Protective Order of the Moose New Port Richey Lodge and was also a member of the Aripeka Ladies of the Elks Lodge. Gertrude was owner and operator of Gertrude Daniels Beauty Shop in Grove City and worked for the former Cooper-Bessemer in Grove City. Gertrude then worked for Grove City Bus Lines and Earth Tours of Grove City; and O.D. Anderson and Anderson Tours of Greenville. Gertrude was also involved with her husband in the operations of Robert Daniels Trucking and Coal Processing for many years before relocating to Florida in 1985. After retiring in Florida, she was a product demonstrator at several grocery stores in the area a few days a week. She loved being around people and seeing people happy. She also loved kids and family and was involved in raising of several nieces, nephews and grandchildren over the years. She was married to Robert A. Daniels on July 21, 1945, who passed away on Feb. 26 of this year. Gertrude leaves: her son, Steven Daniels, Aripeka; one granddaughter, Cassandra; two grandsons, Zachary and Robert, Spring Hill, Fla.; one sister, Valerie Jo Welton, Jackson Center; four sisters-in-law, Mable Daniels, Grove City; Wilma Daniels, Grove, Okla.; Louie Daniels, Fort Myers, Fla.; and Gertrude Osborn, Arnold, Mo.; a brother-in-law, Eustace Booher, Sandy Lake; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband, Robert; her parents; two brothers, Harry and James "Jimmy;" and a sister, Shirley. A memorial service for all family and friends of both Gertrude and Robert is set for 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, 2002, in Millbrook Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Jack Patterson officiating. Charles S. 'Ky' Brysh Car salesman, dry cleaners partner was WWII veteran Charles S. "Ky" Brysh, 293 E. Judy Lynn Drive, Farrell, died of natural causes at midnight Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System following a brief illness. He was 84. Mr. Brysh was born March 29, 1918, in Farrell to John Brysh and Louise Kudla Brysh. Very proud of his heritage, Ky's parents were Polish emigrants who came to Farrell in 1907. He was a salesman for Valley Pontiac in Youngstown. A U.S. Army veteran, Ky served during World War II. He participated for six years in the service of his country, enlisting in 1940. He achieved the rank of first sergeant and participated in the invasion of Okinawa, his group being among the first occupational forces of Japan. He was a partner with Michael Sirianni in the former Society Dry Cleaners on Fruit Avenue in Farrell. Ky was a Roman Catholic, and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5286 and American Legion Post 160, both Farrell. He had also volunteered as a driver for the American Cancer Society. He was an avid fan of Farrell High School athletic programs and of the Cleveland Indians and Browns. This past Sunday afternoon, he enjoyed watching the Browns defeat the Cincinnati Bengals, just hours before he died. His wife, the former Becky Jones, whom he married May 30, 1949, in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Sharon, survives at home. Surviving besides his wife are: a sister, Helen M. "Holly" Stefanish, Farrell; and a brother, Bernard Brysh, Madison, Wis. Ky was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Walter Brysh; a sister, Stella Mihalcin; and a nephew, Mark Brysh. BRYSH Mike Bakmaz Jr. WE retiree played sax in band, sang with group Mike Bakmaz Jr., 812 Lyle Drive, Hermitage, died at 10:45 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002, in John XXIII Home, Hermitage, following an extended illness. He was 85. Mr. Bakmaz was born May 6, 1917, in Farrell to Mary Krzel Bakmaz and Marko Bakmaz Sr. He graduated in 1935 from Farrell High School and worked for the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp. as a welder for 36 years. He retired in 1979. Mr. Bakmaz was a member of Church of Notre Dame in Hermitage. He played saxophone for the Four Notes band for 50 years and was a soloist w ith the Bratsvo Tamburitzans. He was a member of Local 1887 of the American Federation of Musicians for 58 years. He also belonged to the Croatian Club and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He also enjoyed woodworking. Surviving are: his wife, the former Mae Alfredo, at home, whom he married Sept. 24, 1943; two sons, Robert M. Bakmaz and his companion, Wanda Yee, San Francisco; and Marko J. Bakmaz and his wife Elaine, Cincinnati; a sister, Mary Luchette; and a brother, Pete Bakmaz, both Hermitage. He also leaves: four grandchildren, Cassandra Gagnon, Brian Bakmaz, Kari Bakmaz and Marko Bakmaz Jr.; and three great-grandchildren Michael, Daniel and Kaitlyn. Mr. Bakmaz was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Mil M. Bakmaz; and one brother, Anthony Bakmaz. BAKMAZ Frank Lewis Kraynak's retiree lived in Masury, was WWII vet Frank Lewis of 1184 Gold St., Masury, died at 4:45 a.m. Monday (11-18-02) in Orange Village Care Center, Masury, following an extended illness. He was 80. Mr. Lewis was born May 2, 1922, in Nutwood, Ohio, a son of Robert and Julia Griffin Lewis. He was a private first class in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. Mr. Lewis retired in 1984 from Kraynak's Nursery and Garden Center in Hermitage. Survivors include: his wife, Agnes Lewis, whom he married Sept. 18, 1943; a son, Larry Lewis and his wife Carole, Masury; two sisters, Juanita Dominic, Vienna; and Maudlene Miller, Fowler; and two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mr. Lewis was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Henry Lewis. Memorial contributions may be made to Liberty Bible Church, 2111 Sodom Hutchings Road, Vienna 44473.

Johnathan D. Yensick Brookfield 8th-grader belonged to Buhl Club Johnathan D. Yensick of 7800 Elm St., Masury, died at 3:05 a.m. Monday (11-18-02) in St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Youngstown, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was 14. Johnathan was born May 28, 1988, in Warren, Ohio, a son of John H. Yensick and Michelle N. Bare. He was an eighth-grade student at Brookfield Middle School. He was a Protestant by faith and enjoyed golfing, bike riding, water skiing and camping.
Johnathan was a member of the Buhl Club, Sharon.

Lois Marie Cherry Moyer '57 Farrell grad was active in Friendship Baptist A funeral service will be held Friday for Lois Marie Cherry Moyer, 902 Norris Ave., Farrell. She passed away at 5:55 a.m. Sunday (11-17-092) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 64. A lifelong Shenango Valley resident, Mrs. Moyer was born Sept. 20, 1938, in Sharon, a daughter of James Donald Cherry and Eleanor Campbell Cherry. A graduate of Farrell High School Class of 1957, she worked for the former Sharon Steel Corp.'s Farrell plant. As a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Farrell, Mrs. Moyer belonged to the senior choir, missionary society, trustee board and kitchen committee.
She was an avid bowler and a member of the Coalition of Black Trade Unions.
Mrs. Moyer was preceded in death by her parents.

Samantha Miller Samantha Miller, 2091 Davis St., Masury, died at 1:45 p.m. Sunday (11-17-02) in Clepper Manor, Sharon. She was 81. Obituary information was incomplete.
MILLER Jerome Maykowski Sharon Steel retiree was decorated Korean War vet Jerome Maykowski, 3000 Valley View Road, South Pymatuning Township, passed away at 5:28 a.m. Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. He was 70. Mr. Maykowski was born May 30, 1932, in Pymatuning Township to Albert Maykowski and Rose Milewski Maykowski. He was an alumnus of Hickory High School Class of 1950. Having been employed by the former Sharon Steel Corp.'s Farrell plant, he worked in the Grinding Yard and retired in 1992 as an electrician after 24 years of service. He was a member of Church of Notre Dame in Hermitage. Affectionately known as Papa Smurf, Jerome was a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed working on his personal computer and was an annual participant in the Relay For Life in Trumbull County. A decorated war veteran, he served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict. He received the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal at Carswell Air Base in Fort Worth, Texas. His wife, Charlene Anne Maykowski, whom he married June 24, 1965, passed away Nov. 1 of this year. Mr. Maykowski is survived by: four daughters, Mary Jane and her husband Edward Rock, Hermitage; Kathryn A. and her husband Richard McNeelege, Georgetown, Texas; Sharon L. Benevedez, Lake Charles, La.; and Tina Marie and her husband W. Allen Babcock, Sharpsville, with whom he made his home; and four sons, Ralph A. and his wife Lettie Maykowski, Virginia Beach, Va.; Joseph R. and his wife Sherry Swartz, Golden Valley, Ariz.; Harold E. "Ed" and his wife Shirley Swartz, Sharon; and John A. Maykowski, Bel Fair, Wash. He also leaves: four brothers, Henry Maykowski, Roseville, Mich.; Chester Maykowski and his wife Sophia, Garden City, N.C.; William Maykowski and his wife Phyllis, Sharon; and Leo Maykowski, Mancelona, Mich.; five sisters, Florence Mills and her husband Archie, Hermitage; Jennie Getway, Sharpsville; Helen Kocholek, Transfer; Sophia Dresel and her husband Walter, Tustin, Calif.; and Delores Patrizi, Hermitage; two sisters-in-law, Geraldine M. Eckert, Sharon; and Helen L. and her husband James Kapusta, Hermitage; a brother-in-law, Michael J. Kruck, Hermitage; and 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Edward and Stanley Maykowski; and one sister, Edna Staunch.
