Today's obituaries Anna Marie Bedich Anna Marie Bedich, 941 Sharon-New Castle Road, Farrell, died at 11:44 a.m. Wednesday (11-20-02) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 91. Obituary information was incomplete.

CIONE John H. Felix Mining company retiree had relatives living here FORESTVILLE -- John H. Felix, Forestville, died at 12:45 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, in his residence. He was 80. Mr. Felix was born March 11, 1922, in Columbiana, Ohio, to Clark B. Felix and Renia L. Stump Felix. He was equipment operator for Rosswell Mining of Karns City, retiring in 1985. A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Felix served during World War II and was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7073, Parker. He was a member of Forestville United Methodist Church. His wife, the former Ruth L. Ferguson, whom he married Jan. 24, 1946, survives at the residence. Also surviving are: four daughters, Mrs. Cary (Connie L.) Wiley, Mercer; Mrs. John (Sandra A.) Thornbury, Slippery Rock; Mrs. Brad (Doris E.) Walters, Mercer; and Mrs. Patrick (Kathleen G.) Thornbury, Slippery Rock; four sons, Robert L. Felix and his wife Sandra; and Shirl B. Felix and his wife Arlene, all Parker; Kenneth B. Felix and his wife Karen, Farrell; and Daniel L. Felix and his wife Pamela, Forestville; 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren and five stepgreat-grandchildren; three sisters, Grace Jamison, Parker; Caroline Wissner, Sewickley; and V. Mae Baird, Slidale, La.; and two brothers, Thomas D. Felix, Grove City; and Clayton C. Felix, Mercer. Mr. Felix was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and two brothers. FELIX Marie D. Jones Masury woman belonged to St. Bernadette's Church Marie D. Jones of 7526 Francis St., Masury, died at 10:40 a.m. Wednesday (11-20-02) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 82. Mrs. Jones was born Sept. 16, 1920, in Ambridge, a daughter of John and Mary Farkas Rusko. She was a 1938 graduate of Ambridge High School. A homemaker, Mrs. Jones was a member of St. Bernadette's Church in Masury. She enjoyed playing bingo in her spare time. Her husband, Charles A. Jones, whom she married June 28, 1944, died Aug. 23, 2000. Survivors include: three sons, Robert Jones, Hermitage; Thomas Jones, Sharon; and Michael Jones, Southington, Ohio; one sister, Florence Rusko, Columbus, Ohio; and one granddaughter, Shelly DeMay, Hubbard. Besides her husband, Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, John Rusko; and a sister, Margaret Vidmar.
JONES Samantha Bell Ivery Miller Longtime Rochester, N.Y., woman moved here in '90 The family of Samantha Bell Ivery Miller wish to inform friends of the heavenly homegoing of their dearly departed. Aunt Jane, or to those who knew her as Grandma Jane, went to her sweet rest at 1:25 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002. She died at Clepper Nursing Care Center in Sharon after a long illness. She was 81. Mrs. Miller was born July 26, 1921, the sixth child of the late Rev. Archie Bell and Estelle Ramey Bell in West Bridgewater, Pa. Mrs. Miller worked at a World War II assembly plant and was a longtime resident of Rochester, N.Y., where she worked as a union representative for the clothing industry. She later retired from Bond's Clothing Co. Aunt Jane was also active in the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church in Ohio and in New York. She moved to Youngstown in 1982 and to Sharon in 1990. She will be sorely missed by: her son, Robert, husband of Brenda Ivery, Little Rock, Ark.; one brother, Henry, husband of Jean Bell, Philadelphia; one sister, Lena, wife of Ollie Jones, Youngstown; and her caregivers and grandchildren, Kevin Ivery, Youngstown; and Renee Ivery, Brookfield. She also leaves four great-grandchildren; a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends, all of whom will be eternally blessed by her life of total dedication to family, friends and all who didn't resist her persona. Besides her parents, Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by a brother, Ted Bell; and three sisters, Elizabeth Smith, Edith Carlson and Audrey Frazier.

NEWBY Floyd H. Rainey Shenango Inc. retiree was Army vet, outdoorsman Floyd H. Rainey, 3467 Saranac Drive, South Pymatuning Township, died of natural causes at 12:05 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002, in UPMC Horizon, Farrell. He was 75. Mr. Rainey was born Aug. 5, 1927, in Transfer to Scott Rainey and Janet Cornthwait Rainey. An Army veteran, he served in the Korean conflict. Mr. Rainey retired in 1987 as a chipper from Shenango Inc., Sharpsville, where he worked for 38 years. He was of the Protestant faith and loved fishing and bow hunting. An avid trapper, he belonged to the National Trappers Association. His wife, the former Edith E. Mizner, whom he married Oct. 17, 1952, survives at home. Also surviving are: his daughters, Mrs. Francis (Dixie L.) Simmons, Wilmington, N.C.; and Audrey J. Rainey; and Mrs. Michael (Barbara E.) Krzyston, both Sharpsville; Mrs. Michael (Arlene M.) Burkhart, Transfer; and Mrs. Douglas (Darlene R.) Rapson, Hermitage; two sisters, Elma Billen, Hubbard; and Shirley Bounds, Greenville; and two brothers, Donald Rainey and his wife Helen, Greentown, Ind.; and Thomas Rainey, Greenville. He also leaves: seven grandchildren, Walter Herrmann, Francis Simmons Jr., Benjamin Simmons, Michael Burkhart Jr., Thomas Maybray, Raymond Maybray and Ashley Burkhart; and one great-grandchild, Christopher Simmons. Mr. Rainey was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Ruth Olshavsky and June Patterson; and two brothers, William and Dale Rainey.
RAINEY Clayton James Sayavich Clayton James Sayavich of 7813 Rose Ave., Masury, died at 10:27 p.m. Tuesday (11-19-02) in Children's Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was 4 days old. Clayton was born Nov. 15, 2002, in Pittsburgh, a son of Randall J. Sayavich Jr. and Kristina M. Nehlen Sayavich. Survivors include: his parents; a brother, Brandon C. Sayavich, at home; his paternal grandparents, Randall Sayavich Sr. and Sarah Sayavich, Hubbard; his maternal grandparents, Robert and Sheridan Nehlen, Brookfield; his paternal great-grandmother, Norma Sayavich, Hubbard; and his maternal great-grandmother, Dorothy Nehlen, Brookfield. He was preceded in death by his great-grandfathers, Raymond Sayavich and Paul Nehlen.
SAYAVICH Dr. Richard I. Steinfeld Doctor on Sharon hospital staff was member of Rotary Dr. Richard I. Steinfeld, 1082 Foxwood Drive, Hermitage, died at 6:40 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2002, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. He was 54. Dr. Steinfeld was born Oct. 14, 1948, in New York City to William P. Steinfeld and Helen Schacherls Steinfeld. A 1966 graduate of Bronx (N.Y.) High School of Science, he earned a bachelor's degree in biology from City College of New York and received his medical degree in 1974 from St. Louis University of Medicine. Dr. Steinfeld practiced internal medicine privately and was a staff member of Sharon Regional Health System. He was a member of Sharon Rotary Club, American Medical Association, Pennsylvania Medical Society and Mercer County Medical Society. He also belonged to the alumna associations of Bronx High School of Science, City College of New York and St. Louis University School of Medicine. Dr. Steinfeld was a member of Temple Beth Israel, Sharon. His wife, Helene R. Meisner Steinfeld, whom he married Feb. 8, 1976, survives at home in Hermitage. Also surviving are: his mother, Forest Hills, N.Y.; an aunt, Adele Molnar, also Forest Hills; a son, William A. Steinfeld; and a daughter, Sara L. Steinfeld, both Hermitage. He was preceded in death by his father. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
STEINFELD Earl D. Vasilie Earl D. Vasilie, 289 W. Park St., Hermitage, died at 4:23 p.m. Wednesday (11-20-02) in the emergency room of UPMC Horizon, Farrell. He was 78. Obituary information was incomplete.
VASILIE Josephine Zarella Hospital auxiliary member, volunteer retired as teacher A funeral Mass will be held Saturday for Josephine Zarella of John XXIII Home in Hermitage, formerly of Case Avenue in Sharon. She passed away at 5:45 a.m. Tuesday (11-19-02) in the emergency room of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 90. Miss Zarella was born March 19, 1912, in Farrell to Frank and Rosemarie Carbonare Zarella. She was a 1931 graduate of Farrell schools and a 1939 alumna of Thiel College in Greenville, where she earned a bachelor's degree in education. She taught three years in the Brady Court School for Crippled Children. She also taught in various school buildings in Farrell and in Russell Street School in Sharon. She retired in 1975 after 32 years of teaching. Miss Zarella was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Sharon. She also belonged to the national, state, county and local education associations and the Teachers Retirees of Pennsylvania. She was a member of the College Club of Sharon and the AARP, a retired person's organization, also Sharon. She was a volunteer for many years at Sharon Regional Health System and was a member of its auxiliary. Surviving is her sister, Nellie Zarella, Youngstown, as well as several nieces and nephews. Miss Zarella was preceded in death by her parents; six sisters, Angela Cummings and Antoinette Wiesen; and Rose, Geraldine, Elizabeth and Mary Zarella; and one brother, Domenic Zarella. Memorial contributions may be made to John XXIII Home, 2250 Shenango Valley Freeway, Hermitage 16148; or to a charity of the donor's choice.
