William E. Redmond

was of Protestant faith

William E. Redmond, Pine Grove Trailer Park, Lot 78, Mercer, died at 11:15 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, following an extended illness. He was 59.

Mr. Redmond was born June 28, 1943, in Mercer to Everett A. "Abe" Redmond and Esther Jane Shields Redmond.

He was formerly employed as a laborer for Reznor -- a unit of Thomas & Betts, Mercer.

Mr. Redmond was of the Protestant faith.

Surviving are: a companion, Mary Upton; and three children, Bill Redmond and his wife Jeanne; Lori and her husband Jim Amon; and Savannah Redmond, all Mercer; two sisters, Lenora "Snooks," wife of Tony Spatara, Grove City; and Judith A. Oakes, Transfer; six brothers, Bob Shields, Virginia; Lester L. Redmond, Racine, Wis.; Richard Redmond, Mercer; John F. Redmond and John "Jack" A. Redmond, both Mercer; and Thomas A. Redmond, Greenville; and three grandchildren, Nicole M. Redmond, William E. Redmond III and James R. Amon.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Freddy and Bob Redmond.

Benjamin "Ben" F. Lyons

Benjamin "Ben" F. Lyons, 910 Biscayne Drive, Hermitage, died Thursday morning (11-28-02) in his home. He was 83.

Mary R. Vranich

Homemaker and cook

belonged to St. Anthony's

Mary R. Vranich, 1315 N. Water Ave., Hermitage, died at 6:20 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 28, 2002, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System following an extended illness. She was 85.

Mrs. Vranich was born May 7, 1917, in Sharon to Stefan Rendick and Amelia Bonjecovic Rendick.

She attended Sharon area schools and was employed as a cook at Schuster's Steak House in Masury, three years; J.C. Penney's restaurant, nine years; and Denny's restaurant, three years.

Mrs. Vranich was a member of St. Anthony's Church in Sharon; and Croatian American Civic Club; and Croatian Fraternal Union Lodge 126, both Farrell.

Her husband, Michael A. Vranich Jr., whom she married on April 13, 1940, died on Sept. 17, 1987.

Surviving are: five sons, Michael A. Vranich, Canal Fulton, Ohio; George R. Vranich, Brookfield; Charles S. Vranich, Sharpsville; James J. Vranich, and Robert R. Vranich, both Hermitage; two sisters, Anne Danessa Kuti and Mrs. Albert (Catherine) Pisegna, both Sharon; a brother, John Rendick, Hermitage; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Vranich was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Frances Markick; and four brothers, George Rendick; and three infants, Frank, Joseph and Stefan Rendick.
