Ida M. Bennett Brookfield U.M. member belonged to Hubbard club YOUNGSTOWN -- Ida M. Bennett of Omni Manor Health Care, Youngstown, formerly of 943 Valley View Drive, Brookfield, passed away Friday (1-3-03) in the nursing home. She was 94. Ida was born Jan. 19, 1908, in Sugarcreek Township, Venango County, a daughter of James W. and Edna Bean Highfield, coming to this area in 1929. She was a member of Brookfield United Methodist Church and its Altar Guild. She was a former member of John Knox Presbyterian Church of Youngstown. Mrs. Bennett was a member of the former M&M Investment Club of Hubbard. She enjoyed traveling, bowling and gardening. Her husband, Frederick W. Bennett, who was former vice president and traffic manager at the former Sharon Steel Corp.'s Farrell plant, passed away April 12, 1987. She leaves: two sons, J. Frederick and his wife Margie Bennett, Hubbard; and David E. and his wife Diane Bennett, Canfield, Ohio; a daughter, Patricia and her husband Robert T. Nelson, Fairfax Station, Va.; eight grandchildren, Deborah Bennett, New London, N.C.; Dianna and her husband Robert Thompson, Tyrone, Ga.; Jay F. Bennett, India; Karen Nelson, Dayton, Ohio; Katherine Nelson, Potomac, Md.; Robert Nelson Jr. and his wife Alli, Burke, Va.; Dawn and her husband John Kabetso, Canfield; and Gretchen and her husband Bernie Kalinay, Austintown, Ohio; and eight great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, Mrs. Bennett was preceded in death by two grandsons, James D. Bennett and Frederick Bennett; and two brothers, Jay and Eugene Highfield. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Memorial Fund of Brookfield United Methodist Church, 6951 Grove St., Brookfield 44403.
BENNETT Francis 'Fran' M. Webster NEW CASTLE -- Francis "Fran" M. Webster, New Castle, former basketball coach for Hickory High School, Hermitage; Westminster College, New Wilmington; and the University of Pittsburgh, died Friday (1-3-03) in his residence. He was 86. Obituary information was incomplete.
WEBSTER George J. Rathy Packard retiree of Warren was native of Sharon WARREN, Ohio -- George J. Rathy, Bellwood Drive SE, Howland, Ohio, died at 10:50 a.m. Friday, Jan. 3, 2003, in the emergency room of St. Joseph Health Center. He was 88. Mr. Rathy was born Jan. 31, 1914, in Sharon to George Rathy and Anna Bauyik Rathy. He came to Warren in 1959 from Sharon and retired in 1976 after 23 years of service from Delphi Packard Electric Systems in Warren, where he was a tow motor operator. Mr. Rathy was a member of St. James Catholic Church and enjoyed carpentry and woodworking. His wife, the former Helen May, whom he married March 2, 1935, died April 13, 1990. Surviving are: one daughter, Mrs. Donald (Helen) Canzonetta, Howland, Ohio; two grandchildren, Donald G. Canzonetta and Denise Domhoff; four great-grandchildren, Heidi, Jeffrey, Gina and Martina; and one brother, Paul Rathy. Besides his wife, Mr. Rathy was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Joseph, John and Michael Rathy; and two sisters, Anna Missick and Mary May.

Ralph L. Boylan Greenville native belonged to Masons in Sandy Lake EUCLID, Ohio -- Ralph L. Boylan, Highland Heights, Ohio, died at 1:26 a.m. Friday (1-3-03) in Euclid General Hospital. He was 81. Mr. Boylan was born Feb. 28, 1921, in Greenville. He was a tool and diemaker for General Motors Corp. Ralph was a 60-year member of Free and Accepted Masons Lodge 434, Sandy Lake; and Scottish Rite's Valley of Cleveland. He was the beloved husband for 57 years of the former Betty Eileen Marsteller, who survives at home; devoted father of Cheryl Ann Ucchino, Bainbridge, Ohio; and Gail Eileen DeWolf and her husband Bill, Mayfield Heights, Ohio; cherished grandfather of David and his wife Hilarie; and Dawn DeWolf; dear great-grandfather of Hannah and Ryan DeWolf; uncle of many; and brother of Rosemary Riley; and the late Ruth Rust and Dorothy Hovver; and son of the late John and Elizabeth Boylan of Pennsylvania. Besides his parents and sisters, Ralph was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Michael, husband of Cheryl Ucchino.
