Timothy N. Yeager Farrell school employee had worked at Sharon Steel A funeral service will be held Monday (1-20-03) for Timothy N. Yeager, 1106 Beechwood Ave., Farrell, who passed away unexpectedly at 1:35 p.m. Thursday (1-16-03) in the emergency room of UPMC Horizon, Farrell. He was 60. Mr. Yeager was born Oct. 25, 1942, in Harrison County, W.Va., the son of Glenn and Edna Winkler Yeager. For 28 years, he had been employed at the former Sharon Steel Corp.'s Farrell plant, where he worked in the hot mill. Presently he was working for Farrell Area School District in the maintenance department. He attended St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church, Hermitage. Mr. Yeager was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at his mountain cabin in Tionesta, Pa. A veteran, he served in the U.S. Navy stationed in Iberia, La. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6233, West Middlesex. He also belonged to New Deal Club in Farrell, where he enjoyed playing bocce. His wife, the former Joan Multari, whom he married Sept. 23, 1961, survives at home. He is also survived by his two sons, Timothy B. Yeager and his wife, Debbie, Sharpsville; and Thomas A. Yeager and his wife, Patricia, Hubbard; two daughters, Tamara K. Blough and her husband, Ronald, Farrell; and Toni T. Yeager and her fiance, Louis D. Piciacchio, Hermitage; two sisters, Janice Watson, Sharon; and Carol Lipinski, Girard, Ohio; and three brothers, Peter Yeager and his wife, Rose, Pulaski; Glenn Yeager and his wife, Joan, Grove City; and Roger Yeager and his wife, Marianne, Sharon; and seven grandchildren, Shannon and Antonio Yeager, Matthew Blough, Erica Cook and Anthony Yeager and Jessica and Hanna Yeager. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Robert and Gary Yeager.
YEAGER Kenneth W. Dunkerly Retired postal worker had lived in Sharon Kenneth W. Dunkerly, Cordia Commons at The Shenango Inn, 1330 Kimberly Road, Sharon, formerly of Bon Air Drive, Sharon, died at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday (1-15-02) in the nursing home He was 86. Mr. Dunkerly was born July 4, 1916, in Sharon to Jesse Joseph and Martha Rankin Dunkerly. The World War II veteran worked as a postman for the U.S. Army. After the war, Mr. Dunkerly continued working for the postal service in Sharon and Phoenix until retiring at age 55. His wife, Sara Dunkerly, whom he married in 1936, died Nov. 11, 1997. Surviving are: one brother, John H. Dunkerly, Sharon; and nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Charlotte Zucilaw.
DUNKERLY Helen J. Lektorich Masury homemaker was member of Farrell club Helen J. Lektorich, 649 Hazelton Ave., Masury, died at 8:15 p.m. Thursday (1-16-03) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 83. Mrs. Lektorich was born Oct. 22, 1919, in McKees Rocks, Pa., a daughter of John A. and Ella J. Scanlon Chambers. She moved to Youngstown in 1935 and graduated from East High School in 1937. Mrs. Lektorich was a homemaker. Her memberships included Croatian American Civic Club of Farrell. She was a former member of the Veseljaci at the Croatian Club. She also was interviewed by the historic society for being injured and surviving the tornado in 1947. Survivors include: her husband, John Lektorich, whom she married Feb. 6, 1943; two daughters, Mrs. Joseph A. (Jane E.) Gentile, Brookfield; and Mrs. Frank (Mary Lee) Beader, Hartford; three sisters, Betty Chambers, Youngstown; Janet Lyons, Boardman, Ohio; and Mrs. Herbert (Patricia) Van Arsdale, Orlando, Fla.; and one brother, Paul J. Chambers, Boardman. She also leaves behind an adopted daughter, Ellie Pope; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mary Harris and Dorothy M. Chambers; and three brothers, John A. Chambers Jr., Robert M. Chambers and Edward Chambers. Anna Jayn 'A.J.' Cowan Anna Jayn "A.J." Cowan, RD 4, New Castle, passed away at 7:45 a.m. Friday (1-17-03) in UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh. She was 70. Obituary information was incomplete.
COWAN Margaret J. Tackitt Homemaker lived in New Wilmington area Margaret J. Tackitt, Covered Bridge Road, RR 3, Box 72, Volant, died of heart failure at 5:15 p.m. Thursday (1-16-03) in her residence. She was 89. Mrs. Tackitt was born April 17, 1913, in Conneautville to John L. and Margaret L. Hagerstrom Parker. The former Warren, Ohio, resident lived eight years in the New Wilmington area. She was a homemaker and graduate of Linesville High School. Mrs. Tackitt was a member of East Side Church (Baptist-Disciples of Christ), Sharon; and a former member of Bolindale Christian Church, Warren. She was a former member and past president of Victory Blue Star Mothers. The former Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader enjoyed embroidery, quilting and crafts. She was a member of SCOPE. Her husband, Robert K. Tackitt, whom she married June 9, 1937, died June 18, 1989. Surviving are: a son, Karl L. Tackitt, Tempe, Ariz.; a daughter, Mrs. John (Rhoda) Lyons, Volant; four grandchildren, Mark W. Lyons, Karen Sue Dean, Angela McCue and Fred J. Tackitt; and nine great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Nicolls; and a great-grandson, John L. Lyons. Memorial contributions may be made to East Side Church (Baptist-Disciples of Christ), 201 Spruce Ave., Sharon.
TACKITT Mary V. Nixon Mary V. Nixon, 1210 Dakota St., Farrell, died Wednesday (1-15-03) in UPMC Horizon, Farrell. She was 75. Obituary information remains incomplete.
