Shawn A. Cieloszyk Sharon student volunteered at school, Prince of Peace Shawn A. Cieloszyk, 414 Delaware St., Sharon, formerly of Butler, passed away unexpectedly Sunday (1-26-03) in his home. He was 16. He was born Feb. 19, 1986, in Butler, the son of Ricky A. Otto and Denise A. Cieloszyk. He was a member of the 10th grade class at Sharon High School, where he played on the baseball team. Shawn previously worked at Kentucky Fried Chicken in Hermitage. A volunteer, he gave much of his time to Prince of Peace Center in Farrell. He also worked with children with special needs in Sharon High School. Shawn loved the outdoors and he enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He is survived by his father and stepmother, Ricky A. and Rebecca Compton Otto, Slippery Rock; and his mother and stepfather, Denise A. and Paul L. Winters, Butler; two brothers, Nathan R. Otto-Loudy and Justin K-A Otto-Loudy, both Norwalk, Ohio; and three sisters, Marcella R. Otto, Beaver Falls; and Heather M. Cieloszyk and Jessica B-S Otto, both Slippery Rock. He is survived by his foster parents, George and Randy Maybee, with whom he lived. He is also survived by his paternal grandmother, Brenda Bobbert, Butler. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Patricia A. Green; and paternal grandfather, Christy Otto.
CIELOSZYK David R. Madasz Brookfield massotherapist, WWII vet had owned shop David R. Madasz, 6785 Warren Sharon Road, Brookfield, died at 1:46 p.m. Sunday (1-26-03) at his residence. He was 75. Mr. Madasz was born April 28, 1927, in Farrell, a son of John and Sophie Steger Madasz. He was a graduate of Brookfield High School; Great Lakes College, Cleveland; and Charleston College of Massage, Newbury, Ohio. David served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Madasz was a self-employed massotherapist with a private office in Brookfield and also served the Amish community in New Wilmington for several years. He had been the owner and operator of the former Suburban Flowers in Brookfield for 25 years. David was also a school bus driver in Brookfield for 20 years. His memberships included South Pymatuning (Township) Community Church; and Happy Wanderers Club, Hubbard. David is survived by his wife, the former Charlotte Adams, whom he married March 20, 1948. Also surviving are two sons, the Rev. David C. Madasz and his wife, Becky, Palm Harbor, Fla.; and Richard D. Madasz, Clearwater, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Elizabeth "Penny") Martino, Brookfield; and Mrs. William (Irene) Haydn, Lagrange, Ohio; and five grandchildren, David M. Madasz, Melissa D. Madasz, Erin M. Madasz; Christopher M. Madasz and Hallie Edwards. He was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, Peter Madasz, John Madasz Jr., Louis Toth and Frank Toth. MADASZ Velma I. (Ferencik) DeLong Former Sharon woman had children living here CANTON, Ohio -- Velma I. (Ferencik) DeLong, 81, Canton, formerly of Sharon, passed away Dec. 10, 2002. Mrs. DeLong was born Oct. 13, 1921, in Salem, Ohio, the daughter of the late Glenn and Esther (Warner) Regal. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy DeLong in 1992; and a sister, Donna Bortner. Mrs. DeLong is survived by her children, Sue and Jack Van Ord, Florida; Patricia and Walt Edgell, Canton; Bunnie Gilbert, Michigan; Mike Ferencik, Sharon; Dave and Lisa Ferencik, Sharon; Joe Ferencik, Sharon; Gary and Geri Ferencik, Sharpsville; Maryanne and Jim Black, Masury; Barbara and James Wheeler, Boardman, Ohio; 27 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Betty Harley, Shirley Brennan, Barbara Walters and Beverly Bush; two brothers, Leslie and Robert Regal; and many nieces, nephews and friends.Andrew Logan Andrew Logan, Windsor Health Care Center, 1735 Belmont Ave., Youngstown, died at 6 p.m. Monday (1-26-03) in the nursing home. LOGAN Agnes Parcetich Farrell woman belonged to St. Anthony Church Agnes Parcetich, 309 Pershing Drive, Farrell, died at 2:20 p.m. Monday (1-27-03) in UPMC Horizon, Farrell. She was 92. Mrs. Parcetich was born Jan. 14, 1911, in Farrell to Anton and Mary Luzur Bicek. She attended Farrell area schools and was a member of St. Anthony Church, Sharon. Her husband, Walter Parcetich, whom she married Jan. 30, 1930, died Feb. 16, 1980. Surviving are: eight daughters, Helen Simonik, Farrell; Mrs. David (Marie) Brindisi, Farrell; Gloria Parcetich, Farrell, with whom she made her home; Marge Longley, Universal City, Texas; Julianne Horvath, Girard, Ohio; Mrs. Robert (Carol) McCartney, Greensburg, Pa.; and Mary Ann Snowball, Gilbert, Ariz.; four sons, Walter Parcetich, Sharon; Carl Parcetich, Mercer; James Parcetich, Farrell; and Jeffrey Parcetich, Farrell; one brother, Martin Bicek, Sharon; 24 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; one step great-grandchild; and one great-great-grandson. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Michael Parcetich; one grandson, Damion Zipay; one great-granddaughter, Nicole Parcetich; four sisters, Margaret Naydusak, Ann Cimperman, Mary Vodenichar and Frances O'Dell; and three brothers, William, Anton "Tony" and Frank Bicek. JONES Livingston Rashaun Peagler Livingston Rashaun Peagler, Fort Stewart, Ga., passed away at 1:30 a.m. Sunday (1-26-03) in Fort Stewart (Ga.) Army Hospital. He was 17 months old. Obituary information was incomplete.
PEAGLER Daniel D. Shaffer Jr. Wheatland Tube worker was archer, motorcyclist Daniel D. Shaffer Jr., 216 S. Myers Ave., Sharon, died at 11:30 p.m. Friday (1-24-03) in his home, surrounded by his family, after a brief illness. He was 48. Mr. Shaffer was born June 21, 1954, to Daniel D. and June Devlin Shaffer. He graduated from Sharon High School in 1972. He has worked for Wheatland Tube Co., Wheatland, for 29 years as a lowbay craneman. He was a life member and usher of Christ Lutheran Church, Sharon. He was a member of Steel Workers Union 1660, National Rifle Association, Physically Challenged Bow Hunters of America, Harley Owners Group and A.B.A.T.E. of Mercer County. He was a devoted blood donor for the American Red Cross, and he enjoyed target shooting, hunting, archery hunting, trout and fly fishing, all in the mountains of Pennsylvania. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles all of his life, boating and water skiing. Mr. Shaffer is survived by his wife, Donna (Wojtalik) Shaffer, who lives at home where she works as a self-employed seamstress. They married Dec. 21, 1974. He is also survived by a daughter, Mary Lou Shaffer and her fiancé, Bryan Spory, New Castle; three sisters, Donna and her husband Larry R. Shreffler, Tionesta.; Norma Black, Tionesta, where she is a co-owner of B&H Country Store with Linda Householder; and Shirley and her husband James Fleegle, Rehobeth Beach, Del.; 23 nieces and nephews; and 11 great-nieces and nephews.
