Lawrence Jones Jr. Hermitage man worked at Wheatland Tube, elsewhere Lawrence Jones Jr., of 1938 S. Keel Ridge Road, Hermitage, passed away at 5:25 a.m. Monday at Woodland Place in Coolspring Township. He was 78. Mr. Jones was born Feb. 1, 1924 in Jackson County, Mississippi, to Lawrence and Georgia Lyons Jones. He attended Jasper County, Mississippi, schools and worked for Ingall's Shipyard in Pascagoula, Miss. He was a former member of Falti Baptist Church in Mississippi. Mr. Jones also was a former Wheatland Tube employee and worked as a farmer, laborer, mechanic's helper and truck driver. Mr. Jones was reared by his maternal aunt, Geneva Nobles of Bay Springs, Miss. During his youth he traveled extensively. On March 17, 1950, he married Alice Crosby Hilton, who is now deceased. Surviving are: one daughter, Georgia R. Jones Ellebie and her husband John, Hermitage; three sons, Jerry Quince, Pontiac, Mich.; Donald Hartfield, Moss Point, Miss.; and Alexander K. Lawson and his wife Bonnie, Houston; seven grandchildren, Quinton Smith and his wife Trephanie, Edwards Air Force Base, California; Sharon Smith, Indiana, Pa.; Amber Smith, Hermitage; Alexander Jr., Alexis and Marisa Lawson, all Houston; and Jamal Quince, Pontiac, Mich.; and three stepsons, Anderson G. Hilton, Hermitage; Otha W. Hilton and her husband Morris, Farrell; and Curtis L. Hilton and his wife Minerva, Farrell. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Anna Gavin.
JONES Agnes Parcetich Farrell woman belonged to St. Anthony Church Agnes Parcetich, 309 Pershing Drive, Farrell, died at 2:20 p.m. Monday (1-27-03) in UPMC Horizon, Farrell. She was 92. Mrs. Parcetich was born Jan. 14, 1911, in Farrell to Anton and Mary Luzur Bicek. She attended Farrell area schools and was a member of St. Anthony Church, Sharon. Mrs. Parcetich was a homemaker. Her husband, Walter Parcetich, whom she married Jan. 30, 1930, died Feb. 16, 1980. Surviving are: eight daughters, Helen Simonik, Farrell; Mrs. David (Marie) Brindisi, Farrell; Gloria Parcetich, Farrell, with whom she made her home; Marge Longley, Universal City, Texas; Julianne Horvath, Girard, Ohio; Mrs. Robert (Carol) McCartney, Greensburg, Pa.; Mary Ann Snowball, Gilbert, Ariz.; and Rose Zipay, Sharpsville; four sons, Walter Parcetich Jr., Sharon; Carl Parcetich, Mercer; James Parcetich, Farrell; and Jeffrey Parcetich, Farrell; one brother, Martin Bicek, Sharon; 24 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; one step great-grandchild; and one great-great-grandson. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Michael Parcetich; one grandson, Damon Zipay; one great-granddaughter, Nicole Parcetich; four sisters, Margaret Naydusak, Ann Cimperman, Mary Vodenichar and Frances O'Dell; and three brothers, William, Anton "Tony" and Frank Bicek. PARCETICH
Sherry McDowell Young County native taught, was legal aide, court reporter WAYNESVILLE, N.C. -- Sherry McDowell Young, Waynesville, died 10:25 p.m. Jan. 21, 2003, in Autumn Care Nursing Home, Waynesville. She was 90. A native of Mercer County, she was born March 6, 1912, to Fred W. and Mildred P. McDowell. The McDowell family was internationally known as breeders of Hampshire sheep, and Sherry was the fifth generation to raise and show prize-winning sheep. Sherry was a 1933 honors graduate of Grove City College, where she majored in English and business administration. She taught English at the former Fredonia High School, became a legal assistant, and then a court reporter for the Mercer County court system. In 1962, she moved to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and operated a court reporting service until she retired in 1985 and moved to Waynesville. She was past president of Waynesville Garden Club and an active supporter of the arts and the environment. Sherry was adventurous, traveling to China the first year it was open. She visited much of the world with many companions. She brought back love of international cuisine and was well known for her culinary skills and her hospitality. She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Ann Young, Knoxville, Tenn.; and family and many dear friends in Waynesville, across the country and throughout the world. The family thanks the staff at Autumn Care for their loving kindness and skill.

Livingston Rashaun Peagler Livingston Rashaun Peagler, of Fort Stewart, Ga., passed away of natural causes at 12:30 a.m. Sunday (1-26-03) in Fort Stewart Army Hospital. He was 17 months old. Livingston was born Aug. 8, 2001, in Fort Stewart to Sgt. 1st Class Michael A. Peagler and Brenda Jean Lee Peagler. He is survived by his parents; his paternal grandparents, Vincent and the Rev. Willie Eva Peagler, Sharon; his maternal grandparents, Roosevelt and Margaret Lee, Youngstown; three sisters, Erica, Tehanya and Victoria; and four brothers, Jonathan, Matthew, Jeremiah and Michael Jr.

LOGAN Pearl E. Meszaros Pearl E. Meszaros of Concord Place, 2452 Rockhill Church Road, Concord, N.C., formerly of Connelly Manor, Sharon, passed away peacefully at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday (1-28-03) in Northeast Medical Center in Concord of natural causes. She was 91. Obituary information was incomplete.
