Lillie Mae Thurston Sharon woman was oldest member of Farrell church Funeral service will be Tuesday for Lillie Mae Thurston, 15 W. Connelly Blvd., Sharon. She passed away at 8:45 a.m. Thursday (2-6-03) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 95. Mrs. Thurston was born April 22, 1907, in Katon, S.C., to John and Fannie Lindsay Sims. During World War II, she worked in General American Transportation Corp., Masury. She was the oldest member of Greater Mount Zion Church of God in Christ, Farrell. Mrs. Thurston belonged to the church's Mother's Board and was former president of the Home and Foreign Mission, former member of Blood Trail, Hymn Book Choir, Sewing Circle and Usher Board. She attended Sunday school before her illness. Her husband, David F. Thurston, whom she married in 1945, died May 1, 1983. Surviving are two nephews, Dr. Bernard Sims and his wife, Lula, Durham, N.C.; and Thomas Sims and his wife, Jean, Farrell; a niece, Shirley Sims, Washington, D.C.; power of attorney and caregiver Charlotte Dunlap, Farrell; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Russell Sims; and one sister, Bula Smith.

Clara Murphy New Jersey woman taught at St. Mike's in Greenville CRANFORD, N.J. -- Clara Murphy, Cranford, passed away Thursday (2-6-03) in Hunterdon Care Center, Flemington, N.J. She was 75. Clara was born in Pittsburgh to Thomas and Mary Trapuzzano Curcio, and lived there until moving in 1976 to Cranford. She was a school teacher at St. Michael's Roman Catholic School in Cranford for more than 25 years. She was also involved in the aftercare program at the school for many years, retiring in 2002. Clara also had taught at St. Michael's School for many years in Greenville before coming to Cranford. Clara was a parishioner and member of the Rosary Society at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church in Cranford since 1976. Clara was predeceased by her parents; and her uncle and aunt who raised her, Fiore and Concetta Curcio Pugliano. Clara is survived by a daughter, Karen Murphy-Keddell, Columbia, Md.; two sons, Brian D. Murphy, Milford, N.J.; Edward "Ted" Murphy, California; and two grandchildren, Katie and Jenny Keddell.
MURPHY Jeanne Yarosh Homemaker born in France lived in Jackson Township Funeral service will be Monday for Jeanne Yarosh, 487 N. Cottage Road, Jackson Township. She passed away at 1:15 p.m. Thursday (2-6-03) in her residence after an extended illness. She was 74. Mrs. Yarosh was born Sept. 14, 1928, in Maxéville, France, to Louis and Marianne Rembaz Kowalczyk. She was a homemaker and attended St. John's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Sharon. Surviving are: her husband, Nicholas Yarosh, whom she married Nov. 12, 1949; four daughters, Colette Benner, Mrs. Mike (Cheryl-Ann) Williams; and Mrs. Michael (Helen Denise) Malecki and Miriam Sandra Yarosh, all Baltimore; a son, Patrick Nick Yarosh and his wife, Connie, Glen Burnie, Md.; two sisters, Genevieve Clouse, Effingham, Ill.; and Lucie Johnson, Sebastian, Fla.; two brothers, Edouard Kowalczyk, Maxéville; and Henri Kowalczyk, Pompey, France; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Hilton Benner; a brother-in-law, John Yarosh; and a sister, Irene Misiak.
YAROSH Mildred M. Thompson Mildred M. Thompson, Countryside Convalescent Home, East Lackawannock Township, formerly of Charlotte Drive, Hermitage, passed away at 11:25 a.m. Friday (2-7-03) in the nursing home. She was 76. Obituary information was incomplete.
THOMPSON Neva Jackson Sharpsville woman was a native of West Virginia Neva Jackson, 678 S. Eighth St., Sharpsville, passed away unexpectedly early Thursday morning (2-6-03) in the emergency room of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 54. Mrs. Jackson was born Nov. 1, 1948, in Pennsboro, W.Va., the daughter of Arley C. and Beatrice Cromer Shepherd. She graduated from high school in West Union, W.Va. Mrs. Jackson was a loving mother and sister. Her husband, James Jackson, passed away in 1991. She leaves three brothers, Adron Shepherd, Guthrie, Ky.; Danny Shepherd, Pennsboro; and Stuart Shepherd, Pennsboro; and two sisters, Nettie Licot, Pennsboro; and Linda Barnard, Middleboro, W.Va. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Scott A. Jackson; and a brother, Arley C. Shepherd Jr.

MARCUS Edmund James Little Edmund James Little, 218 Newman St., Springville, N.Y., formerly of Sharpsville, passed away at 10:50 a.m. Friday (2-7-03) in Bertrand Chaffey Hospital, Springville. He was 91. Obituary information was incomplete.
LITTLE Leo R. Nelitz Leo R. Nelitz, Nugent Convalescent Home, Hermitage, formerly of Mercer-West Middlesex Road, West Middlesex, died at 8:40 a.m. Friday (2-7-03) in UPMC Horizon, Farrell. He was 73. Obituary information was incomplete.
