Erasmo 'Razz' Piccirilli K of C member retired from Valley Mold and Iron Funeral Mass will be Thursday for Erasmo "Razz" Piccirilli, 75 Milliken Ave., Sharpsville. He passed away at 3 p.m. Saturday (2-8-03) at home. He was 98. He was born Sept. 13, 1904, in Falvaterra, Italy, to Vincent and Agnes Carnavale Piccirilli. He came to the United States in 1912. Mr. Piccirilli retired in 1969 after 42 years from the former Valley Mold and Iron Corp., Hubbard Township. A third degree knight, he was an honorary life member of Knights of Columbus Council 3984, Masury. In his youth, Mr. Piccirilli was a caddy at Sharon Country Club and became an avid golfer. He also enjoyed fishing and watching the Pittsburgh Pirates. Surviving him at home is his wife, the former Lena Vaccaro, whom he married Sept. 24, 1936, in St. Joseph's Church, Sharon, where he was a member. Also surviving is a son Ernest Paul, at home; a daughter-in-law, Patty Piccirilli, Sharon; two sisters-in-law, Anna Piccirilli, Sharpsville; and Iola Piccirilli, Hermitage; five grandchildren, Lisa, Lori, Michael, Mark and Steven; and eight great-grandchildren, Kayla, Brianna, Joseph, Michael, Sophia, Abbey, Sidney and Francesca. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Vincent Piccirilli; three brothers, John, Ralph and Raymond; and four sisters, Teresa, Philomena, Madeline and an infant.
PICCIRILLI Rosemary Pearce FHS grad worked for Golden Dawn, Schmidt Funeral Mass will be Thursday for Rosemary Pearce, 31 Fennell Road, Shenango Township, who passed away peacefully at 10:23 a.m. Saturday (2-8-03) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System after a brief illness. She was 70. Mrs. Pearce was born April 29, 1932, in Farrell to John and Maria Chaky Yevchak. She was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd, West Middlesex. She graduated from Farrell High School in 1949 and was a retail accountant at the former Golden Dawn Foods' Sharon warehouse and for the former Peter J. Schmidt Co. from the 1970s until the 1990s. Surviving are: her husband, Geoffrey, whom she married Sept. 6, 1958, at home; two sons, Brian Pearce, in Virginia; and Bradley Pearce and his wife, Lori, of Mount Lebanon in the Pittsburgh area; a sister, Irene Piciacchio, Farrell; a brother Michael Yevchak and his wife, Helen, of Sharon; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, John Yevchak. Memorial contributions may be made to Easter Seals of MTC, 299 Edwards St., Youngstown 44502.
PEARCE Albert D'Onofrio Hermitage grocery owner was Notre Dame member Albert D'Onofrio, Whispering Oaks, Hermitage, passed away peacefully at 1:35 a.m. Saturday (2-8-03) in the home of his daughter, Angela, after an extended illness. He was 81. Mr. D'Onofrio was born May 27, 1921, in Farrell to August and Angeline Morocco D'Onofrio. A graduate of Farrell High School, Mr. D'Onofrio owned and operated D'Onofrio's Food Center, Hermitage. He served with the Merchant Marines. He was a member of Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, Mr. D'Onofrio's family was his greatest joy. He also enjoyed boating and horseback riding. Surviving are: his wife, Antoinette "Nettie" Marino, whom he married July 24, 1950; two daughters, Angela D'Onofrio, Hermitage; and Maria Buzzeo and her husband, Michael, Freehold, N.J.; three sons, August and his wife, Elaine, Poland, Ohio; Salvatore "Sal" D'Onofrio, Jefferson Township; Joseph and his wife, Karen, Hermitage; two sisters, Loretta Stubbs and Mary Joyner, both residents of John XXIII Home, Hermitage; a brother, Edward and his wife Rose, in Florida; and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Frederick and Domonic D'Onofrio; and a sister, Yolanda Stabile.
D'ONOFRIO Marion Isabell Howard Hilliards woman loved to crochet, do latchwork Marion Isabell Howard, 69, of Hilliards passed away early Sunday morning (2-9-03) in United Community Hospital, Pine Township, after an illness. She was 69. Mrs. Howard was born June 14, 1933, in Scrubgrass Township, Venango County, a daughter of Harrison Foster and Frances Ellen Sloan Jacobs. She attended Salem United Church of Christ, Salem, Clarion County. Mrs. Howard loved to crochet and do latchwork. Surviving are: her husband, Ronald E. Howard, whom she married March 14, 1953; five daughters, Mrs. Butch (Ellen LuAnn) Mattern, Knox; Mrs. Mike (Linda Marie) Francisco, Richland, NC.; Laurie Pearl Howard, Butler; Lisa Marie Howard, Harrisville; and Mrs. Greg (Brenda Lee) Finegold, Cincinnati; three sons, Richard Wayne Howard, Atlanta; James Edward Howard, Parker; and William Lawrence Howard, Clintonville; nine grandchildren; a sister, Edith Mayle, West Sunbury; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant son and a granddaughter.
HOWARD G. Irene Menz Retired nurse was member of WM Presbyterian G. Irene Menz, 1498 Mercer-West Middlesex Road, Lackawannock Township, died at 2:30 a.m. Sunday (2-9-03) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 77. Mrs. Menz was born Aug. 8, 1925, in West Middlesex to Grover and Gladys Garman Furey. She was a graduate of West Middlesex High School and Sewickley School of Nursing. Mrs. Menz retired as head surgical nurse at Sharon General Hospital, now known as Sharon Regional Health System. She was a member of West Middlesex Presbyterian Church and was involved with its ladies aide society. Mrs. Menz raised sheep and would take lambs to nursing homes and schools to give enjoyment to others. Surviving are: her husband of more than 55 years, Thomas James Menz, at home; a daughter, Marjorie Sanders, Transfer; a son, Lawrence Joseph Menz and his wife, Alice, of Sharon; a sister, Dorothy Jone, Pleasantville, N.Y.; a grandchild; and two great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Susan Frease; two brothers, Earl and Grover Furey; and a grandson, Brian Joseph Noga.
MENZ Clarence R. Dawson Clarence R. Dawson of 916 Wallis Ave., Farrell, died at 11:56 a.m. Sunday (2-9-03) in the intensive care unit of the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. He was 75. Obituary information was incomplete.
DAWSON Rose C. Wilson Cochranton church member retired from Polk Center Rose C. Wilson of 5993 McClintock Road, Cochranton, died Sunday (2-9-03) in her home. She was 83. She was born Aug. 20, 1919, in Jackson Center, a daughter of A.J. "Jack" and Florence Powell Osborne. Mrs. Wilson retired from Polk Center, where she worked as a student aide. She previously was employed at PPG, Meadville, and in the cafeteria at Lakeview High School. She was a member of the Cochranton Presbyterian Church and served in the soup kitchen at Stone Methodist Church in Meadville. Mrs. Wilson enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, sewing and cooking. She married Tom Wilson in 1939; he died in 1959. Surviving are: six daughters, Ellen Robinson of Ashtabula, Ohio; Fay Brink of Cochranton; Susan Rodgers of North Carolina; Janet Peters and her husband, Jeff, Nancy Jo Adams and her husband, Jack, and Beth Rodgers, all of Meadville; two sons, Tim Wilson and his wife, Libby, Saegertown; and Jack Rodgers, Meadville; three brothers, A.J. Osborne and his wife, Naomi, Oil City; Jim Osborne, Meadville; and Don Osborne and his wife, Rebecca, Saegertown; a sister-in-law, Marion Osborne; 17 grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Isabel Rodgers, and two brothers, David and Richard Osborne.
