Louise C. Dusi
Fatima member was

medical secretary, artist

Louise C. Dusi of Hospitality Care Center in Hermitage, formerly of South Third Street in Sharpsville, passed away at 5 p.m. Monday (2-10-03) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 96.

Mrs. Dusi was born March 22, 1906, in Hillsville, Pa., to Pasquale Cousintine and Francesca Veltri Cousintine.

Moving to the valley as a young girl, she was a Farrell High School graduate. She also attended business school following her high school education.

Louise was employed as a medical secretary for many local physicians during her lifetime.

She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Farrell.

Louise enjoyed gardening and traveling. She was also an artist and enjoyed working with oil paints.

Although she had no biological children, she was extremely fond of youth, particularly her nephews and nieces.

Her husband, Louis B. Dusi, whom she married Oct. 26, 1943, passed away Jan. 2, 1990.

As the final surviving member of her immediate family, she leaves several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Besides her husband, Louise was preceded in death by her parents and several brothers and sisters.

Memorial contributions may be made to Prince of Peace Center, Darr Avenue, Farrell 16121; or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Harold C. Klingaman

Retired draftsman, farmer formerly lived in Brookfield

SUN CITY WEST, Ariz. -- Harold C. Klingaman of Sun City West, a retired draftsman and farmer, died Sunday morning, Feb. 9, 2003, in his home. He was 92.

Born May 13, 1910, in Nappanee, Ind., Mr. Klingaman moved to Sun City West in 1984 from Brookfield.

He was a draftsman for Youngstown Kitchens.

Mr. Klingaman and his wife were active members of the Farm Bureau in the Trumbull County area and enjoyed playing pinochle with friends.

With his wife, he was a former member of Brookfield United Methodist Church.

In Arizona, Mr. Klingaman enjoyed keeping up with the Phoenix Suns and the Diamondbacks.

He is survived by his wife, the former Beulah C. Newton, whom he married Feb. 1, 1933 in Mercer. On Feb. 1, 2003, they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary, enjoying Irish cream served in stemmed glasses and cake with some family members.

Their children include: David Klingaman, Athens, Ohio; Peggy Harris, Bellefontaine, Ohio; and Diane Steele, Payson, Ariz.

Mr. Klingaman is also survived by five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, 2003, in Sun City West. The Rev. Franklin Greene of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Sun City West will officiate.


Lucy Jane McKean
GC homemaker belonged to New Beginnings church

Lucy Jane McKean, 303 Lincoln Ave., Grove City, died at 3:13 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003, in United Community Hospital, Pine Township. She was 67.

Mrs. McKean was born April 3, 1935, in Grove City to Carl Richard Turner and Lena Norcross Turner.

She was a homemaker.

As a member of New Beginnings I.P.H. Church in Findley Township, she was active in the woman's ministry and the quilting group, and enjoyed making candy in a church group.

Surviving are: a son, Richard E. McKean, Grove City; and a brother, Raymond Turner, Mercer.

Mrs. McKean was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, James, Robert and Earl Turner.

David Wayne Spohn

'70 Brookfield grad was Army vet, lived in Farrell

David Wayne Spohn of Farrell died unexpectedly at 9:02 p.m. Tuesday (2-11-03) in his residence after years of battling diabetes. He was 50.

Mr. Spohn was born May 13, 1952, in Sharon, a son of John Spohn Sr. and Ella Jewel Spohn.

He was a 1970 graduate of Brookfield High School and also attended Shenango Campus of Pennsylvania State University in Sharon.

Mr. Spohn was a sergeant in the U.S. Army from 1970 to 1973 and also served stateside during the Vietnam conflict. He was a Disabled American Veteran.

His memberships included Veterans of Foreign Wars Murray-Bell Post 7597, Farrell; American Legion Post 299, Sharon; and Mercer County Disabled American Veterans Post 55.

He was a loving and devoted father, brother, friend and family man.

Survivors include: his ex-wife, Laura Spohn; two sons, to whom he devoted his life, Jeremy Bryan Spohn and Jesse David Spohn, both Farrell; a sister, Nora Humphrey, Transfer; a brother, Richard L. Spohn, Melfa, Va.; a stepsister, Sandra Kashmer, Masury; a stepbrother, Darrell Myers, West Middlesex; his companion of many years, Denise Boardley, Farrell; and five nieces, two nephews, four great-nieces and three great-nephews.

Mr. Spohn was preceded in death by his parents, his maternal grandparents and his paternal grandparents; one son, Shawn Spohn; and four brothers, Michael, Edward and Tim Spohn; and John Spohn Jr.

Memorial contributions may be made to David Spohn's children.

Anne J. Stepanic of St. Paul Homes, West Salem Township, formerly of Brookfield, died at 2:05 a.m. Wednesday (2-12-03) in UPMC Horizon, Greenville. She was 91.

Mrs. Stepanic was born July 14, 1911, in Cass, W.Va., a daughter of Frank and Rose Grubcic Klasic.

She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Stepanic was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Masury and the church Altar Rosary Society.

Her husband, Lawrence F. Stepanic, whom she married Aug. 27, 1938, died May 25, 1964.

Mrs. Stepanic is survived by: a son, Larry Stepanic and his wife Linda, Champion, Ohio; a daughter, Rosalie Torma, Brookfield; a brother, Frank F. Klasic, Sparks, Nev.; two grandchildren, Julianne Stepanic and Gregory Stepanic; and a great-grandson, Keith Stepanic.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathleen Stepanic; two brothers, Michael and George Klasic; and a sister, Mary Klasic.

Ruby Cica Zorek

Retired union worker

Ruby Cica Zorek, Coolspring Township, formerly of West Middlesex, died at 2:35 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 9, 2003, in Woodland Place, Coolspring Township. She was 72.

Mrs. Zorek was born Nov. 12, 1930, in Farrell to Vujo Cica and Milka Relic Cica.

A graduate of Farrell Area High School Class of 1948, she was a member of and a meat wrapper for United Food and Commercial Workers union based in Akron, Ohio, for 30 years. She retired in 1989.

Mrs. Zorek was of the Serbian Orthodox faith.

Her husband, George Zorek, whom she married July 23, 1968, died in November 1972.

Surviving are: three sisters, Diane Cica, San Francisco; Mary Cica, Parma, Ohio; and Mrs. Joseph (Ann) Ochaba, Mentor, Ohio; and two brothers, Daniel Cica and his wife Delores, Jensen Beach, Fla.; and Michael Cica, Escondido, Calif.

She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and -nephews.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Zorek was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Nick, Steve and Javin Cica; and a sister, Sarah Keso.
