Margaret E. Stepanchak Fatima church member was waitress, clerk A Mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday for Margaret E. Stepanchak, 7 Capitol Court, Farrell. She died at 2:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, 2003, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 81. Mrs. Stepanchak was born Dec. 20, 1921, in Farrell to Charles Lauderman and Margaret E. Mueller Lauderman. She was a 1939 graduate of Farrell High School. Mrs. Stepanchak was a waitress at Villanova Restaurant in Farrell and also worked as a clerk at the former Montgomery Ward's department store in Sharon. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Farrell. Her husband, George Stepanchak, died in 1984. Surviving are: five children, Beverly Aleksa, Hermitage; Anthony "Moe" DeNoi, Farrell; Carole Kettering, Transfer; George J. Stepanchak, Tampa, Fla.; and William E. Stepanchak, Medina, Ohio; a sister, Caroline Rogan, Sharon; a brother, Charles Lauderman, President, Pa.; and 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, Mrs. Stepanchak was preceded in death by her parents.
James W. Clark Sr. WWII vet, Sharon Steel retiree lived in W.Middlesex James W. Clark Sr., 23 Mill St., West Middlesex, died at 5:10 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, 2003, in Clepper Manor, Sharon, after an extended illness. He was 83. Mr. Clark was born Jan. 13, 1920, in Butler to Monte Clark and Mary Powell Clark. He attended West Middlesex area schools and worked for the former Sharon Steel Corp.'s Farrell plant as a laborer for 35 years. He retired in 1982. Mr. Clark served during World War II in the Army and was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6233 in West Middlesex. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. His wife, the former Virginia Harkless, whom he married May 3, 1945, died Oct. 5, 1990. Surviving are: two daughters, Janet and her husband Paul Fabrizio, Liberty Township, Trumbull County; and Catherine Beers, Hubbard; three sons, James W. Clark Jr., West Middlesex; Gerald and his wife Barbara Clark, New Middletown, Ohio; and Richard and his wife Doreen Clark, Youngstown; three sisters, Erma Nich, and Geraldine Tobash, both Oil City; and Wilma Daniels, Oklahoma; and eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Besides his wife, Mr. Clark was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Alice Maines and Mildred Jackson; three brothers, Elmer, Kenneth and Wilford Clark; and one grandson, Robert Fabrizio.
CLARK John J. 'Joe' Veselosky Wheatland native had sister living in Hermitage PORTSMOUTH, Va. -- John J. "Joe" Veselosky, Portsmouth, formerly of the Shenango Valley, passed away at 9:20 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003, in his home. He was 67. Mr. Veselosky was born in Wheatland on Aug. 13, 1935, a son of Joseph and Mary Goda Veselosky. A resident of Portsmouth since 1956, he retired from Naval Sea Support Center Atlantic in 1990. He was a member of Green Lakes Baptist Church, Portsmouth; and was a Navy veteran. Surviving are: his wife, Connie; three daughters, Sharon, wife of John Russo; Cynthia, wife of Ronald Narron; and Kimberly, wife of Terry Morrison, all Portsmouth; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Frances, wife of Rudolph Stiftinger, Erie; and Roseann, wife of Eugene Kocsis, Hermitage. Calling hours were held from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, with a funeral service at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, both in Portsmouth. Pastor Dwight Buchholz and Pastor Gary Wurts, both of Green Lakes Baptist Church, officiated. Burial was held in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake, Va. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 19 Jefferson Ave., Sharon 16146. Vivian Irene Bagnall Beloved Disciple member was Orchard Manor retiree Vivian Irene Bagnall, 705 W. Poplar St., Grove City, died at 9:03 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, 2003, in United Community Hospital, Pine Township, after a brief illness. She was 78. Mrs. Bagnall was born Dec. 17, 1924, in Tiffin, Ohio, to Dewey Vrooman and Irene House Vrooman. She retired in 1985 from Orchard Manor, Pine Township, where she worked in nursing and physical therapy for 19 years. Mrs. Bagnall was a member of Church of the Beloved Disciple in Grove City. Her husband, Thomas M. Bagnall, whom she married Oct. 1, 1949, died Oct. 6, 1984. Surviving are: three children, Nancy Irene Locktosh, wife of Joseph M. Locktosh; Bette L. Rodgers, wife of David Rodgers; and Thomas Scott Bagnall, all Grove City; three sisters, Jane Vrooman, North Royalton, Ohio; Bonnie Dearth, Parma, Ohio; and Betty Kallhof, North Olmsted, Ohio; two brothers, John Vrooman and Michael Vrooman, both Cleveland; and seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, Mrs. Bagnall was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Bonnie Linda Bagnall and Joyce Ann Wylie, who died in 1978; and one sister, Olive Broestle.
BAGNALL Ethel Tranick Sawhill retiree had worked at WE, lived in Sharpsville A funeral service will be held Wednesday for Ethel Tranick, 369 S. 8th St., Sharpsville. She died unexpectedly at 8 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003, of natural causes in her residence. She was 77. Miss Tranick was born Nov. 22, 1925, in Sharpsville to John Tranick and Helen Beno Tranick. A graduate of Sharpsville High School Class of 1943, she retired in 1987 as a shipping coordinator for the former Sawhill Inc. in Sharon, where she worked for 15 years. Miss Tranick previously was employed by the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp. She was of the Catholic faith and loved her dog. Surviving are: two nieces, Mrs. David (Helen) Meyer and Mrs. William (Teresa) Dalton; and two nephews, Patrick Vahey; and Peter Vahey and his wife Camille; and several great-nieces and -nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Matilda Vahey. Memorial contributions may be made to Humane Society of the Shenango Valley, Box 1046, Hermitage 16148.
TRANICK Harry A. Dummett Harry A. Dummett, 1610 Mercer-Grove City Road, Findley Township, died at 9:17 a.m. Monday (2-17-03) in Woodland Place, Coolspring Township, after an extended illness. He was 78. Obituary information was incomplete.
