Norma Armstrong Benbow

Norma Armstrong Benbow, 11 Columbia Park, Greenville, died at home Saturday afternoon (8-2-97) following an extended illness. She was 74.

Eleanor R. Bovard

East Main member worked at GC schools and college

Eleanor R. Bovard, 906 Eastover Road, Grove City, died at 5:50 p.m. Friday (8-1-97) in United Community Hospital, Pine Township, of natural causes. She was 76.

Mrs. Bovard was born in Somerset County, Pa., on Jan. 6, 1921, to Martin M. and Jane Griffith Shaulis.

A 1939 graduate of Grove City High School, she was formerly employed by the Grove City Area School District in the elementary and middle schools. She was also an assistant librarian at Grove City College.

Mrs. Bovard was a member of East Main Presbyterian Church, Grove City, where she formerly served as a deacon and did volunteer work in the church office. She was also a member of the Order of the Easter Star, Chapter 86, Grove City.

Surviving are: her husband, Eugene H. Bovard Jr., whom she married Feb. 17, 1944; two daughters, Mrs. Leroy P. (Kathy) Gunner, Houston, Texas; Mrs. Michael F. (Jean) Murphy, Ramsey, United Kingdom; a sister, Bessie Webster, Grove City; and four grandchildren.

BOVARD

Mrs. Eugene H. (Eleanor R.), 76, of 906 Eastover Road, Grove City.

Calling hours: 10 a.m. to time of service Monday (8-4-97) in East Main Presbyterian Church, Grove City.

Service: Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the church, with the Rev. Donald C. Hoagland, pastor, officiating.

Burial: Prairie Cemetery, Harrisville.

Helen Cornell

YOUNGSTOWN _ Helen Cornell, Glenview Manor Nursing Home, died at 1:05 p.m. Saturday (8-2-97). She was 99.

John Henry Faller

Jefferson Twp. man was county jail corrections officer

John Henry Faller, 633 Fullingmill Road, Jefferson Township, died at 9:20 p.m. Friday (8-1-97) at home. He was 57.

Mr. Faller was born Jan. 9, 1940, in Venus, Pa., to Austin S. and Ina L. Fox Faller.

A graduate of Cranberry (Pa.) High School, he was a corrections officer for the Mercer County Jail.

Surviving, besides his wife, the former Jane Peters, are: two daughters, Mrs. Timothy (Diane) Newhouse, Mount Alton, Pa.; and Mrs. Matthew (Kimberly) Golier, Bradford, Pa.; two sons, David Faller, Rexford, Pa.; and Charles Faller, Rochester, N.Y.; a stepdaughter, Sandra Snell, Galveston, Texas; two stepsons, Richard Buchanan, Bradford; and Daniel C. Peters, Clovis, Ariz.; seven sisters, Mrs. Delmar (Mildred) Sharrar and Mrs. Lee (Anna) Irwin, both Oil City; Mrs. James (Dorothy) Sharrar, Mrs. Gene (Beatrice) Steer, and Mrs. Gene (Mary) Amsler, all Venus, Pa.; Mrs. Walter (Levina) Mohney, Reynoldsville, Pa.; and Mrs. Robert (Helen) King, Seneca, Pa.; two brothers, James P. Faller, Venus, Pa.; and Gerald Faller, Franklin; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine Faller.

Robinson Ford Jr.

Robinson Ford Jr., 31 Beechwood Ave., Wheatland, died at 8:30 p.m. Friday (8-1-97) after he was shot in his home. He was 57.

Deborah Chavka Necastro

Packard engineer, active at St. Joe's, was avid golfer

Deborah Chavka Necastro, 3550 Mount Hickory Blvd., Hermitage, died at 11:05 p.m. Friday (8-1-97) in the skilled care unit of Sharon Regional Health System following a brief illness. She was 47.

Mrs. Necastro was born Nov. 4, 1949, in Sharon to Fred `Mick'' and Theresa Flack Chavka.

She was a 1967 graduate of Joseph Badger High School, Kinsman, and received her bachelor's degree in 1971 from Youngstown State University.

She was a product engineer for Delphi-Packard Electric Corp., Division of General Motors, Warren, Ohio, for the past 27 years.

She was an active member of St. Joseph's Church, Sharon, where she was a eucharistic minister and a Brownie and Girl Scout leader. She also belonged to St. Joseph School PTO.

An avid golfer, she was a member and treasurer of the Teed Off Ladies Golf League. She also enjoyed flower gardening.

Surviving are: her husband, Harry C. Necastro, whom she married April 19, 1975; two daughters, Leslie Allyn, and Corrie Danielle; and two sons, Neal Anthony and Brian Joseph, all at home; her parents, Hartford; and two brothers, Michael Paul Chavka, Gilbertsville, Pa.; and David Anthony Chavka, Big Pine Key, Fla.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Cancer Treatment Fund in care of Primary Health Network, P.O. Box 716, Sharon 16146; or St. Joseph's Food Pantry, 79 Case Ave., Sharon 16146.


NECASTRO

Mrs. Harry C. (Deborah Chavka), 47, of 3550 Mount Hickory Blvd., Hermitage.

Calling hours: 4 to 6 p.m. Monday (8-4-97) and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday (8-5-97) in J. BRADLEY McGONIGLE FUNERAL HOME Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon. Knights of Columbus will recite the rosary at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday and a parish vigil service will be held at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, both in the funeral home.

Service: Brief prayer service at 10 a.m. Wednesday (8-6-97) in the funeral home, followed by Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, Sharon, with Monsignor William C. Karg, pastor, as celebrant.

Burial: St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage.


John P. Rombold

Self-employed bricklayer belonged to Grace Lutheran

John P. Rombold, 1102 Armand Road, Hermitage, died at 8:30 p.m. Friday (8-1-97) in the home of his daughter. He was 92.

Mr. Rombold was born Sept. 1, 1904, in Sharon to John G. and Mary Jeutter Rombold.

A self-employed bricklayer, he was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Farrell.

Surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. John (Emily) Yohman, Transfer; three sisters, Mary Matzel and Helen Scott, both Hermitage; and Ann Nevil, Myrtle Beach, S.C.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Besides his wife, Emma F., whom he married Oct. 12, 1927, and who died March 16, 1995, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy Rombold; a sister, Pauline Rombold; and two brothers, William and Carl.

Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, 901 Fruit Ave., Farrell, or through the funeral home.

John P., 92, of 1102 Armand Road, Hermitage.

Lawrence `Gurrera' Uretta

Sawhill retiree was in Army Air Corps, lived in Sharon

Funeral will be Tuesday for Lawrence ``Gurrera'' Uretta, 297 Elm St., Sharon, who died at 3:05 p.m. Friday (8-1-97) in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was 76.

Mr. Uretta was born July 26, 1921, in Farrell, to Lawrence and Concetta Muscarella Gurrera.

A 1939 graduate of Farrell High School, he served with the Army Air Corps during World War II and was at Hickam Field Dec. 7, 1941, at the bombing of Pearl Harbor. He was a sergeant, serving as an aerial engineer.

He retired in 1976 with 30 years of service with Sawhill Tubular Division.

He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5286, Farrell; the Italian Home, Farrell; and American Legion Post 299, Sharon.

He attended Our Lady of Fatima Church, Farrell.

Surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. James (Cheryl) Joseph Jr., Sharon; two sons, Phil L. Uretta, Sharon; and Larry Uretta, Lancaster, Texas; two sisters, Mamie Blue, White Pigeon, Mich.; and Rose Miller, Farrell; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores J.; and a brother, Sam.


URETTA

Lawrence ``Gurrera,'' 76, of 297 Elm St., Sharon.
