Maria Francesca Pagliaroli DeJulia

Homemaker was 70-year member of St. Bartholomew

CASTLE ROCK, Colo. _ Mass of Christian burial will be Friday for Maria Francesca Pagliaroli DeJulia, 2919 Masters Court, Castle Rock, Colo., formerly of Sharpsville and Hermitage. She died Sunday (8-3-97) at her daughter's home of cancer. She was 91.

Mrs. DeJulia was born Oct. 5, 1905, in Castro dei Volsci, Provincia Frosinone, Italy, to Giuseppe and Domenica Martini Pagliaroli.

She was a 70-year member of St. Bartholomew Church, Sharpsville, where she was past president of the St. Oliva Society; and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society.

Her lifetime was spent caring for her family and in service to others.

Her husband, Salvatore ``Samuel'' DeJulia, whom she married Aug. 8, 1921, died Dec. 31, 1983.

Surviving are: two daughters, Mrs. Chester F. (Philomena) Gadola, Hermitage; and Mrs. George J. (Josephine) Bryan, Castle Rock; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Dominic Palo; and two sisters, Catherine Bovier and Theresa Caracci.


DeJULIA

Mrs. Salvatore ``Samuel'' (Maria Francesca Pagliaroli), 91, Castle Rock, Colo., formerly of Sharpsville and Hermitage.

Agnes M. Ference

Sharon woman was active in Church of Sacred Heart

Agnes M. Ference, 367 Lincoln St., Sharon, died at 11 p.m. Tuesday (8-5-97) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System of natural causes. She was 87.

Mrs. Ference was born June 23, 1910, in Pittsburgh to Louis and Wilhelminia Beichert Kaelin.

She was an active member of Church of the Sacred Heart, Sharon.

Mrs. Ference belonged to Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court 507, Sharon.

Her husband, Joseph S. Ference, whom she married Nov. 24, 1932, died July 17, 1981.

Surviving are: two daughters, Marie E. Radkowski, Pulaski; and Margaret A. Thomas, Sharon; two sons, James E., Hubbard; and David J., Sharon; a sister, Alice Ference, Sharon; a brother, Joseph Kaelin, Sharon; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Gertrude Vecheren; and a brother, Louis J. Kaelin Jr.

Mrs. Joseph S. (Agnes M.), 87, of 367 Lincoln St., Sharon.

Robinson Ford Jr.

John M. Makary

Distinguished state trooper had sister in Mercer

GREENSBURG, Pa. _ John M. Makary, Greensburg, died Monday evening (8-4-97) in Westmoreland Regional Hospital after an extended illness. He was 47.

Mr. Makary was born Dec. 18, 1949, in Pittsburgh to John and Mary O'Shea Makary.

He earned a bachelor's and master's degree in education from the University of Pittsburgh.

He taught six years in the Penn Hills (Pa.) school district.

A member of the 1978 34th state police cadet class, Sergeant Makary distinguished himself as commander of the Southwest Training Center; the administrative supervisor to Troop ``J'', Embreeville Station; program development U supervisor in the Bureau of Training and Education, Hershey (Pa.) headquarters; and was a trooper at Troop ``E,'' Franklin station.

Mr. Makary was selected for the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy in 1996.

Surviving are: his wife, the former Patricia ``Tish'' Wright, whom he married Dec. 9, 1978; two sons, Johnny and Charlie, at home; his parents, Pittsburgh; four sisters, Maureen Klein, Wichita Falls, Texas; Sheila Harrison, Tacoma, Wash.; Michele Rhule, Mercer; and Denise Lukas, Allison Park, Pa.; and a brother, Mark, Hilliard, Pa.

Surviving are: his wife, the former Margaret ``Peg'' McLaughry Marshall, whom he married Oct. 27, 1962; a son, William S., Erie; and a daughter, Laury Anne Parramore, Edgewater, Md.

Helen Hoffer Colley Morgan

Salem, Ohio, retiree had son living in Sharpsville

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio _ Helen Hoffer Colley Morgan, 1878 Cleveland St., Salem, Ohio, formerly of Wheeling, W.Va., died at 10:50 p.m. Monday (8-4-97) in Austin Woods after an extended illness. She was 81.

Mrs. Morgan was born Sept. 8, 1915, in Cecil, Pa., to John and Mary Borovich Hoffer.

She was a retired bookkeeper for the former Strouss Department Store, Salem.

She was a member of St. Paul's Church, Salem.

Her first husband, Howard E. Colley, whom she married Jan. 22, 1935, died Dec. 30, 1954.

Surviving are: her second husband, Edwin L. Morgan, whom she married July 2, 1962; a daughter, Carolyn Emery, Thousand Oaks, Calif.; two sons, Richard Colley, Moundsville, W.Va.; and James, Sharpsville; a stepdaughter, Jauelin Shay, Wheeling; a stepson, Leroy Morgan, Warren, Ohio; a sister, Mary Corkill, El Paso, Texas; four brothers, George Hoffer, Hurricane, W.Va.; John, Wellsburg, W.Va.; Ernie, Wheeling; and Bill, Lehigh Achers, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Erral Colley; a sister; two brothers; and a great-granddaughter.

Joseph F. Todarello

GC man was prisoner of war, retiree from Cooper-Cameron

Joseph F. Todarello, 301 S. Broad St., Apt. 305, Grove City, formerly of Riverside Drive, died at 10:02 p.m. Tuesday (8-5-97) in United Community Hospital, Pine Township, of natural causes. He was 75.

Mr. Todarello was born April 14, 1922, in Allentown, Pa., to James S. and Elvira Pesto Todarello.

An Army veteran and prisoner of war, he served during World War II.

He retired in 1984 from the shipping department of Cooper-Cameron Corp., Grove City.

Mr. Todarello was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 3658; and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 519, both of Grove City.

He was a member of Church of the Beloved Disciple, Grove City.

Surviving are: his wife, the former Lucy Puntureri, whom he married Aug. 25, 1945; a son, James B., Monroeville, Pa.; a sister, Rose McKinney, Belleville, Ill.; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Theresa Lindenberg; and a brother, Fred P.

Veronica Zieminick

Hermitage homemaker attended Sharon church

Veronica Zieminick, 194 S. Kerrwood Drive, Hermitage, died at 5:15 a.m. Tuesday (8-5-97) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System after an extended illness. She was 86.

Mrs. Zieminick was born Aug. 17, 1910, in McAdoo, Pa., to Michael and Mary Kleurbara Varsho.

She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Zieminick previously worked at the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp.

She attended St. John's Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church, Sharon.

Her husband, Stanley Zieminick, whom she married July 4, 1939, died March 2, 1993.

Surviving are: two daughters, Mrs. Butch (Shirley) Trautwein, Ridel, Ga.; Mary Ann Bobbie, Hermitage; a son, Stanley Jr., Hiawassee, Ga.; two sisters, Anna Petrosky, Hermitage; and Helen Bristelli, Sharpsville; three brothers, Michael Varsho, Sharpsville; George Varsho, Hermitage, and Joseph Varsho, Sharon; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

In July 1946, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Ann Zieminick.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to osteoporosis research.
