Wilbur V. Bauer

Ex-art education director was active church member

Wilbur V. Bauer, White-Cliff Nursing Home, West Salem Township, formerly of Skyline Drive, Hermitage, died at 6:10 p.m. Friday (8-8-97) in Horizon Hospital System, Greenville. He was 85.

Mr. Bauer was born Sept. 27, 1911, in Sharon, to George N. and Katherine Fromm Bauer.

He was a 1929 graduate of Sharon High School and received his bachelor of science degree in 1934 from Edinboro State University. He received his master's degree in art education from Columbia University, New York City, in 1946.

He retired in 1974 as the director of art education in the Monongalia County School District, Morgantown, W.Va., with 27 years' service.

He had previously worked in the Farrell Area School District for 11 years and also in the Coatesville (Pa.) School District.

He was an active member of the Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage, where he was a lector, Eucharistic minister and an usher.

He was a member of the West Virginia Art Association and a charter member of the National Art Association, having served on many committees throughout his carreer.

He was a member of the West Virginia and National Education Associations and Phi Delta Kappa, men's education fraternity.

Mr. Bauer was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, Sharon Council 684, and was a member and Faithful Navigator of the 4th Degree Sharon Assembly.

He formerly belonged to the Morgantown Knights of Columbus Council where he was a past Grand Knight and Faithful Navigator.

An Air Force veteran, he served in Italy during World War II.

Surviving is a sister, Kathleen Bauer, San Diego, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Mary Agnes Curtin, whom he married Nov. 26, 1936, and who died Dec. 31, 1993, and by a son, William Joseph Bauer.

Service: Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday (8-12-97) in the Church of Notre Dame, Highland Road, Hermitage, with Monsignor Edward J. Zeitler, pastor, as celebrant.

Burial: Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hermitage.


Rudolph Kaba

Korean conflict veteran had been a professional auditor

HOWELL, Mich. _ Rudolph Kaba Jr. of Howell, formerly of Sharon, died Saturday (8-9-97) in Howell. He was 67.

Mr. Kaba was born Oct. 6, 1929, in Welch, W.Va., to Rudolph Sr. and Ethel Szabo Kaba.

He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean conflict, a staff sergeant.

He was a graduate of Pocahontas (W.Va.) High School and a graduate of Youngstown State University with a bachelor's degree in business and medical management.

He was service representative for Metropolitan Title Co., Howell. He retired in May, with nine years of service.

He was former administrator of Harper Hospital, Detroit, Mich. He also had been a professional auditor for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Michigan.

He was active in many different church organizations and was a past elder. He was involved with the Howell Boy Scout troop.

He was an avid bowler and euchre player.

Surviving, besides his wife, Constance M. Corbin, whom he married June 8, 1957, are: two daughters, Mrs. Nicholas (Suzanne M.) Zayan, Fenton, Mich.; and Mrs. Douglas (Valorie K.) Musselwhite, St. Cloud, Fla.; a son, Daniel R. Kaba, Madison, S.D.; his mother, Ethel Kaba, Sharon; two brothers, Albert S. Kaba, Virginia Beach, Va.; and Joseph M. Kaba, New Castle; and eight grandchildren.

Veronica Zvarich Livingston

Obituary was published 8-9-97

Veronica Zvarich Livingston, Youngstown, who died Friday (8-8-97) in St. Elizabeth's Health Center, Youngstown, was preceded in death by two brothers, George and John Zvarich. The Herald omitted the information. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Helen Ruedel. A surviving brother lives in Shiremanstown, Pa. Incorrect information was given to The Herald.


Mary Luckner

Operated a tailoring shop for many years with husband

Funeral will be Monday for Mary Luckner, 905 Crestwood Drive, Brookfield, who died at 2:03 p.m. Friday (8-9-97) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 90.

Mrs. Luckner was born Jan. 15, 1907, in Masury to Michael and Mary Kamensky Zipay.

She and her husband, Fred C. Luckner, had operated a tailoring shop in Sharon for many years.

She was a member of Brookfield Christian Church, Brookfield.

Surviving are: three sisters, Ann Wittlinger, Pepper Pike, Ohio; Elizabeth Yobe, Hermitage; and Vera Novak Geaman, Hartford; and two brothers, Paul Zipay, Sharpsville; and William Zipay, Hartford.

Besides her husband, who died Aug. 12, 1972, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Michael, John, Joseph and George Zipay.

Mary, 90, of 905 Crestwood Drive, Brookfield.

Roland C. `Rolly' McClellan

Sportsman bowled, played baseball in over-60 league

Roland C. ``Rolly'' McClellan, Harrisville-Jackson Center Road, Worth Township, died at 8:45 p.m. Friday (8-8-97) in Orchard Manor, Grove City, after a brief illness. He was 89.

Mr. McClellan was born Jan. 25, 1908, in Oil City, Pa., to Willis and Daisy Glenn McClellan.

He was a graduate of Slippery Rock University.

The retired regional manager of Pennsylvania Farmers Insurance Co. of Camp Hill, Pa., Mr. McClellan was formerly employed by Cooper Energy Services, Grove City.

Mr. McClellan was a member of Irwin Presbyterian Church, Irwin Township, and Millbrook Grange.

An avid golfer and bowler, Mr. McClellan was an independent baseball and softball player, participating in an over-60 softball league.

Mr. McClellan married Rosemary Hollibaugh on Sept. 14, 1938. Mrs. McClellan died Feb. 1, 1974.

Surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. James A. (Joyce) Cuffia, Zelienople; a son, Bruce D. McClellan, Jackson Center; a sister, Mildred Cokeane, Grove City; and four grandchildren.

Besides his first wife, he was preceded in death by his second wife, the former Helen Elder Gibb, whom he married March 15, 1975, and who died Nov. 10, 1982; a daughter, Carol Maxine McClellan; a sister, Marjorie Buckley; and a brother, Donald McClellan.

Roland C. ``Rolly,'' 89, of Harrisville-Jackson Center Road, Worth Township, formerly of Sandy Lake.

Robert C. Miller Sr.

Taxi driver had been member of Eagles

Robert C. Miller Sr., 4746 Phillips-Rice Road, Cortland, died at 2:45 p.m. Friday (8-8-97) in St. Joseph Health Center, Warren, Ohio, after suffering a stroke. He was 69.

Mr. Miller was born Feb. 8, 1928, in Warren to Raymond A. and Orpha Meikle Miller.

He was a USA taxi driver in Warren and had been a driver for 20 years for various taxi companies.

He was a member of the Sons of Italy, Warren, and also the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Warren.

Surviving are: two sons, Robert C. Miller Jr. and Brian K. Miller, both of Masury; three sisters, Joan Robinson, Greenville; Alice McFarland, Brookfield; and Mary Lou Kost, Cortland; and a stepbrother, Lu Haines, Olympia, Wash.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Miller.

Irene M. Reese

Lifelong area resident was great-grandmother

Irene M. Reese, 153 Orangeville Road, West Salem Township, died at 5:50 p.m. Friday (8-8-97) in Horizon Hospital System, Greenville. She was 97.

A lifelong area resident, Mrs. Reese was born Sept. 18, 1899, in Jamestown to Amos and Olive Mahan Moreland.

She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church, Greenville.

She married Samuel Reese on Oct. 24, 1919. He died Jan. 2, 1969.

Surviving are: two daughters, Betty I. Reese, Greenville; and Mrs. Floyd A. (Shirley) Ross, Jamestown; a son, Robert E. Reese, Greenville; five grandchildren; a step-grandchild and 16 great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Jennie Norton; three brothers, Frank, Clarence and Wilson A. Moreland; and a step-grandson, Robert Veverka III.

Esther M. Parker Waddell, 224 S. Otter St., Mercer, who died Thursday (8-7-97) was born Jan. 10, 1926, to Thomas and Anna Sidley Parker. Her mother's maiden name was incorrectly given to The Herald.


Eldora J. Weaver

Masury woman had worked at Westinghouse plant

Eldora J. Weaver, 7814 Chestnut St., Masury, died at 6:20 p.m. Monday (8-4-97) upon arrival at Trumbull Memorial Hospital, Warren, Ohio, after a sudden illness. She was 80.

Mrs. Weaver was born Aug. 16, 1916, in Masury to William E. and Alzada Eldora Fox Root.

She worked for the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp. for many years.

She was a Methodist.

She married Harry A. Weaver Jan. 24, 1936. He died April 30, 1993.

Surviving is a brother, Allen W. Root, Clinton, Tenn.




WEAVER

Eldora J., 80, of 7814 Chestnut St., Masury.

Mary M. Weber

Waitress lived most of her life as a resident of Sharon

EDISON, N.J. _ Funeral will be Tuesday for Mary M. Weber, Roosevelt Drive, who died at 6:05 p.m. Thursday (8-7-97) in JFK Medical Center, Edison. She was 61.

Mrs. Weber was born Aug. 18, 1935, in Sharon to Howard E. and Margaret Moyer Ferringer.

She lived most of her life in Sharon before moving to Edison 28 years ago.

She was a waitress for the J.C. Penney Co. in Highland Park, N.J.

Surviving are: her mother and stepfather, Margaret and Wilbur Harris, Brookfield; a daughter, Ronnie Weber, Old Bridge, N.J.; a son, Daniel Weber, East Brunswick, N.J.; two sisters, Lynn Loudin, in Pennsylvania; and Peggy DeJulia, in Arizona; and two grandsons.

Besides her husband, H. Ronald Weber, who died in 1958, she was preceded in death by a son, David, in 1996.
