Albert E. Barnett
Franklin man was GCC grad, father of Hermitage dentist
FRANKLIN _ Albert E. Barnett Franklin, died at 11:55 a.m. Thursday (8-14-97) in the emergency room of Franklin hospital of Northwest Medical Center. He was 80.
Mr. Barnett was born Feb. 16, 1917, in Beaver Township, Clarion County, to Irvin Joseph and Goldie Irene Long Barnett.
He was a 1934 graduate of the former White Memorial High School, Knox, Pa.; and a 1949 graduate of Grove City College, where he earned a bachelor's degree in general engineering.
An Army veteran with five years active duty during World War II, he retired as lieutenant colonel from the Army Reserves as a member of the 409th Civil Affairs Co., Franklin.
Mr. Barnett retired in 1982 as a project engineer from Joy Manufacturing Co., Franklin. Previously he worked for PennDOT, District 10, Franklin.
He was a Franklin school board director from 1981-87; and served on the board of directors of Venango County Vocational Technical School, Oil City, for six years. He was a member and past treasurer of the Franklin Library Board.
Mr. Barnett was a life member of Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 110, Franklin; Military Reserve Officers Association; American Association of Retired Persons; and American Legion Post 476, Franklin.
He belonged to Grace Lutheran Church, Franklin, where he was a Sunday school teacher, education committee member and church treasurer.
Mr. Barnett enjoyed hunting and fishing.
His wife, the former Fern I. Switzer, whom he married June 28, 1947, died May 21, 1994.
Surviving are: a son, Dr. Larry Barnett, Franklin, a Hermitage dentist; two brothers, Guy and Kenneth, Knox; and two sisters, Mrs. Wilbur (Velma) Stevenson, Butler; and Mrs. Lloyd (Dorothy) Motter, Knox.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Wayne, Cecil, Vance, Merrell and an infant; and two sisters, Beula Patrick and Hazel Barnett.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Venango County Visiting Nurses, Sandy Creek Volunteer Fire Department, or Community Ambulance Service.

Service: Funeral at 11 a.m. Monday (8-18-97) in the funeral home, with the Rev. Frederick G. Keller, pastor of Grace Lutheran Church, Franklin, officiating.
Burial: St. Mark's Cemetery, Clarion County.
Almira G. Cashdollar
Active volunteer was retired Jamestown Paint secretary
Almira G. Cashdollar, West Salem Township, formerly of Chestnut Street, Jamestown, died Thursday (8-14-97) in Horizon Hospital System, Greenville, of natural causes. She was 80.
Miss Cashdollar was born May 9, 1917, in Trafford County to John C. and Anne Gamble Cashdollar.
She was a retired secretary for Jamestown Paint Co.
Miss Cashdollar was a member and volunteer of First Presbyterian Church, Jamestown.
A community volunteer, she served with the Democrat party; and a mental health and mental retardation organization, Sharon.
Surviving are: four cousins, Penny Gotham, Erie; Susan Foremsky, Topeka, Kan.; and Murry and Wayne Cashdollar, Sun City, Fla.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Agnes Cashdollar.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 411 Liberty St., Jamestown 16134.

Almira G., 80, West Salem Township, formerly of Chestnut Street, Jamestown.

Service: Funeral at 8 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
Burial: Crossroads Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Monroeville.
Madeline C. Counts
Madeline C. Counts, Wansack Road, Shenango Township, died Thursday evening (8-14-97) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 83.

Bertha A. Snyder McFadden
Was retired postmaster of 30 years in Forestville
Bertha A. Snyder McFadden, formerly of Forestville, died at 3:40 a.m. today (8-15-97) in Orchard Manor, Pine Township, after a three-year illness. She was 75.
Mrs. McFadden was born Sept. 28, 1921, in Forestville to Victor R. and Nancy I. Wolford Snyder Sr.
She retired in August 1986 after 30 years as postmaster in Forestville.
She was a member of Forestville United Methodist Church.
Mrs. McFadden belonged to National Postmasters Association and The League of Postmasters.
Surviving are: three sisters, Virginia Taggart, Slippery Rock; Sarah McCaslin, West Sunbury, Pa.; and Marian Isacco, Forestville; a brother, Victor Snyder Jr., Grove City; and a granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by a son, Richard Eugene McFadden; and three sisters, Beatrice McCandless, Naomi Morrison and Corrine Belshaw.

Bertha A. Snyder, 75, Pine Township, formerly of Forestville.
