Ralph C. Callahan Sr., 69 Plum St., Greenville, died Saturday (8-16-97) in White-Cliff Nursing Home, West Salem Township, where he was a patient. He was 85.

Karen Ann Hollister Carr

United Methodist member was sales clerk in Grove City

Karen Ann Hollister Carr, 445 E. Butler St., Mercer, died at 6:30 a.m. Saturday (8-16-97) in her home after an extended illness. She was 53.

Mrs. Carr was born on July 12, 1944, in Beaver Falls, Pa., to Spraque W. Hollister and Arlene Renouf.

She was a graduate of Mount Gallitzian High School, Baden, Pa., and a member of the Mercer United Methodist Church, Mercer.

A sales clerk, Mrs. Carr was employeed by Vitamin World, Grove City Factory Shops Outlet Mall.

Surviving are: her husband, Thomas J. Carr, whom she married March 9, 1996, Mercer; two stepdaughters, Mrs. William (Rebecca L.) Lapp, DeForest, Wisc.; Mrs. Ervin (Melissa A.) Pelaez, Baltimore, Md.; a stepson, Thomas J. Carr Jr., Mercer; her mother, Arlene Eakles, Sacramento, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Richard (Valerie) Rudnicki, Rochester, Pa.; three brothers, William S. Hollister, Tampa, Fla.; Dennis E. Hollister, Nokomis, Fla.; Harry Eakles, Sacramento, Calif.; and two stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Irene B. Coller

Woman enjoyed baking, was a public school cook

Irene B. Coller, 7743 Hubbard-Bedford Road, S.E., Hubbard Township, died Friday afternoon (8-15-97) in her home of an apparent heart attack. She was 83.

Mrs. Coller was born Aug. 7, 1914, in Mt. Pleasant, Pa., to Martin and Barbara Fedders.

She was a cook for Hubbard public schools for several years. She enjoyed cooking and baking.

Surviving are: a son, Dennis Coller, Hubbard; three brothers, Kenneth Fedders, West Middlesex; Eugene Fedders, Youngstown; and Robert Fedders, Hubbard; a sister, Donna Truchan, Hubbard; two grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Coller, who died Oct. 2, 1959.

Irene B., 83, of 7743 Hubbard-Bedford Road S.E., Hubbard Township

Ralph Cremonese

Educated in Italy, enjoyed gardening and landscaping

Ralph Cremonese, 1337 Heinz Ave., Sharon, died at 6:05 a.m. Saturday (8-16-97) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System, following an extended illness. He was 92.

Mr. Cremonese was born Oct. 20, 1904, in Naples, Italy, to John and Caroline Massaro Cremonese.

He was educated in Italy and immigrated to the United States in 1922.

He retired in 1970 as a machine operator in the facing mill of the former Midland Ross Corp., Sharon, with 29 years service.

He was a member of St. Joseph's Church, and the Sons of Italy, Shenango Valley Lodge, both Sharon.

He enjoyed gardening and landscaping.

Surviving are: a daughter, Caroline Lanshcak, with whom he lived; a son, John Cremonese, Spartanburg, S.C.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Concetta DeMaio, whom he married April 2, 1928, and who died April 9, 1993, two brothers, Nicholas, and Peter, and a granddaughter, Cynthia Cremonese.

Entombment: St. Rose Mausoleum, St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage.


Mary A. Leone

Farrell, Brookfield cafeteria worker was homemaker

Mary A. Leone, 55 W. Connelly Blvd., Sharon, formerly of Masury and Farrell, died at 7:55 a.m. Saturday (8-16-97) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System, following a brief illness. She was 82.

Mrs. Leone was born Jan. 1, 1915, in Desloge, Mo., to Joseph and Kata Vincar Antolich.

A homemaker, she had worked in the cafeteria for Our Lady of Fatima School, Farrell, and for Brookfield schools.

She was a member of Blue Star Mothers, Masury.

Surviving are: two sons, James A. Leone, Hermitage; and Larry J. Leone, Eagan, Minn.; a brother, Steve Antolich, Springfield, Ohio; and a granddaughter.

Besides her husband, Anthony G. ``Chic'' Leone, who died Sept. 1, 1979, she was preceded in death by a brother, Pete Antolich.

Memorial contributions may be given to the American Diabetes Associaton.

Lula Belle McCauslin

Teacher of 11 years had been a leader in her church

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. _ Lula Belle McCauslin, 4404 Woodmore Place, formerly of Grove City, died Friday (8-15-97) in Erlanger Hospital North, Chattanooga. She was 85.

Mrs. McCauslin was born May 31, 1912, in Grove City to John and Anna Rebecca Grace White.

A graduate of Grove City College, she taught at Grove City High School for 11 years.

She was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Chattanooga, its J. Fred Johnson Sunday School Class, and past president of the Presbyterian Women. She was also a member of Woodmore Garden Club, Chattanooga.

Surviving are: two daughters, Mildred Chandler, Hixson, Tenn.; and Nancy Garden, Franklin, Tenn.; and four grandchildren.

Besides her husband, Gerald R. McCauslin, who died July 15, 1991, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. John (Mildred) Giesmann.

Memorial contributions may be made to Grove City College, Grove City, Pa., 16127; First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Chattanooga, Tenn.; or the Alzheimers Association.

Minnie Moore, 304 S. Crescent St., Hermitage, died at 5:55 p.m. Saturday (8-16-97) in Countryside Personal Care Home, East Lackawannock Township. She was 76.

Frederick S. Nuhfer

Ex-appliance specialist had been exalted ruler of Elks

Frederick S. Nuhfer, 320 Williamson Road, West Salem Township, Greenville, died at 7:05 a.m. Saturday (8-16-97) in Horizon Hospital System, Greenville. He was 62.

Mr. Nuhfer was born March 29, 1935, in Venus, Pa., to Karl S. and Hulda McCrea Nuhfer.

A 1953 graduate of Cranberry High School, he worked for 42 years as an appliance specialist for National Fuel Gas Co., retiring April 1, 1995.

He was a life member and past exalted ruler of Greenville Elks Lodge 145, past president of Northwest Pa. Truck and Tractor Pullers Assoc. and former cub master of Maysville Troop 99.

He was a member of St. Michael's Church, Greenville.

Surviving, besides his wife, Shirley Nuhfer, Greenville, whom he married June 8, 1957, are; two daughters, Mrs. Randy (Nancy) Gilson, and Mrs. Kip (Cindy A.) Riffe, both Greenville; a son, Joseph T. Nuhfer, Jamestown; his father, Karl Nuhfer, Venus; five sisters, Mrs. Donald (Helen) Schupp, and Gumaine Nuhfer, both Oil City; Mrs. James (Juanita) Eisenman, Fryburg, Pa.; Mrs. Al (Martha) Ryan, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and Mrs. Steve (Kathy) Smith, Bensalem, Pa.; two brothers, Howard J. Nuhfer, Sharon; and Michael A. Nuhfer, Union Point, Ga.; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, in 1995.

Douglas J. Price Sr.

Army veteran had retired from steel plant after 35 years

Douglas J. Price Sr., 425 Spruce Ave., Sharon, died Saturday at home. He was 79.

Mr. Price was born March 17, 1918, in Nanty Glo, Wales, to James and Martha Davies Price.

An Army veteran of World War II, he served in the battle of Guadalcanal.

A 1939 Sharon High School graduate, he was a finisher for the former Sharon Steel Corp. for 35 years, retiring in 1975.

He was a member and former usher of St. John's Episcopal Church, Sharon.

He was a member of American Legion Post 299, Sharon.

Surviving, besides his wife, the former Sylvia Andreoletti, whom he married July 26, 1975, are: six daughters, Ann B. Miller, Warren, Ohio; Mrs. Ronald (Edythe) Robb, West Middlesex; Mrs. Bob (Jessica) Miller, Brookfield; Cynthia Townsend, Grand Perrie, Texas; Mrs. Michael (Linda) Jones, Euless, Texas; and Doreen Totin, Hermitage; two sons, Robert Price and Douglas Price, both Sierra Vista, Calif.; 15 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.
