Lawrence E. `Larry' Cianci
West Salem man helped operate family business
Lawrence E. ``Larry'' Cianci, 169 Orangeville Road, West Salem Township, died at 7:25 a.m. Sunday (8-31-97) in Horizon Hospital System, Greenville. He was 47.
Mr. Cianci was born June 29, 1950, in Greenville to John R. and Bette Rice Cianci.
He graduated from Reynolds High School.
Mr. Cianci assisted in the operation of a family-owned business, Cianci's Corner Dairy, South Mercer Street, Greenville.
He was a member of St. Michael's Church, Greenville.
Mr. Cianci belonged to Knights of Columbus Council 1446, Greenville.
Surviving are: his parents, Greenville, with whom he lived; and a brother, William E. Fry, Jamestown.
He was preceded in death by a brother, David G., Oct. 10, 1992.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael's School Endowment Fund, 85 N. High St., Greenville 16125.

Clyde Diefenderfer
Clyde Diefenderfer, 179 College Ave., Greenville, died early Sunday (8-31-97) in Horizon Hospital System, Greenville. He was 89.

Clara Belle Miller
Homemaker was former resident of Brookfield
MINERAL RIDGE, Ohio _ Clara Belle Miller, Mineral Ridge, formerly of Brookfield, died at 3:20 a.m. Sunday (8-31-97) in Glenn View Manor Nursing Home. She was 84.
Mrs. Miller was born April 25, 1913, in Hubbard to James and Hattie Rice Carter.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Miller was a Lutheran.
Her husband, Kenneth R. Miller, whom she married March 19, 1932, died Sept. 8, 1971.
Surviving are: four sons, Kenneth W. ``Bill,'' Liberty Township, Ohio; Richard M., Lindsey, Ohio; Ronald E., Austintown, Ohio; and Kim D., Hubbard; five daughters, Mrs. Robert (Dolores) Hogue, Farrell; Mrs. Mike (Nancy) Romo, Hartford; and Mrs. Joseph (Betty) Manente, Mrs. John (Carol) Cordova and Mrs. James (Donna) Pallone, all of Girard, Ohio; 18 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Kenneth R. (Clara Belle), 84, Mineral Ridge, Ohio, formerly of Brookfield.

Mary F. Morar
Hermitage woman worked at former WE plant
Mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday for Mary F. Morar, 685 Briarwood Road, Hermitage. She died at 6:12 p.m. Saturday (8-30-97) in Horizon Hospital System, Shenango Valley, Farrell. She was 83.
Mrs. Morar was born Jan. 14, 1914, in Windber, Pa., to George and Julianna Berbecs Ference.
She was employed by the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp., retiring July 6, 1976, after 35 years of service.
Mrs. Morar was a member of Westinghouse Retirees Association.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Church, Farrell.
Surviving are: a daughter, Launa Morar, Hermitage; two sisters, Mrs. George (Ann) Duleba, Farrell, and Julia Cameron, Hermitage; and a brother Joseph G. Ference, Hermitage.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Swiecinski; and a brother, John Ference.

Joseph Charles Shivak
Hempfield man was retired Air Force lieutenant colonel
Joseph Charles Shivak, Maple Leaf Manor Personal Care Home, Hempfield Township, formerly of Hazen Road, Sharpsville, died at 5:30 a.m. Sunday (8-31-97) in University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He was 83.
Mr. Shivak was born July 17, 1914, in Devault, Pa., to Michael P. and Mary Hiryak Shivak.
He attended Brookfield High School and in 1943, the Air Force Officer's Candidate School, Miami Beach, Fla.
He retired in 1974 as a lieutenant colonel in the Air Force after serving for more than 30 years. A recipient of numerous awards, decorations and citations, Mr. Shivak was active from 1942-46 during World War II in Europe, Africa and in the Mediterranean. He served in Japan and Korea from 1951-53 and was administrative staff officer at the University of California, Los Angeles.
Mr. Shivak was a member of Church of the Sacred Heart, Sharon.
Surviving are: a sister, Helen Marini, Farrell; and two brothers, Edward, Warren, Ohio, and Frank, Masury.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Toth and Mary Ann Shivak; and two brothers, Michael and John.
Memorial contributions may be made to Church of the Sacred Heart, 40 S. Irvine Ave., Sharon 16146.

John Videtich Jr.
Worked as a machinist at Mercer Forge for 16 years
PITTSBURGH _ John Videtich Jr., Brent Road, Springfield Township, Volant, died at 11:30 p.m. Saturday (8-30-97) in Montefiore University Hospital after an extended illness. He was 66.
Mr. Videtich was born Oct. 21, 1930, in Blaw Knox (Pittsburgh), Allegheny County, to John and Anna M. Umenski Videtich Sr.
He retired after 16 years as a machinist from Mercer Forge.
Mr. Videtich was a member of Drake Alliance Church, Springfield Township.
Surviving are: his wife, the former Anita Louise Fullerton, whom he married Dec. 23, 1973; five sisters, Dorothy Bedner, Crewe, Va.; Elizabeth Verner, Rosemary Faust and Grace Cross, all of Pittsburgh; and Sally Luster, Sarasota, Fla; a brother, Edward, Pittsburgh; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, David, in 1993.

Julia Marie White
Beloved Disciple member was retired from GCC
Julia Marie White, 1523 Lee Lane, Grove City, died at 2:45 a.m. Sunday (8-31-97) in Hillcrest Nursing Center, Grove City, of natural causes after a brief illness. She was 78.
Mrs. White was born Aug. 1, 1919, in Cleveland to Carmen and Rina Antonia DeVito.
She moved to Grove City in 1957, living at her most current address for 13 years.
Mrs. White retired in 1985 from Grove City College after 16 years in the food service department.
She was a member of Church of the Beloved Disciple, Grove City, and its craft group.
Her husband, Ralph White, whom she married July 27, 1957, died Sept. 27, 1987.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Virginia) Donaldson and Mary A. Boller, both of Beaver Falls.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Vincent and Paul DeVito.
