William H. Hedglin
Sharon Steel retiree lived in GC, was avid sportsman
Funeral will be Monday for William H. Hedglin, 442 Liberty St., Grove City, who died at 3:15 p.m. Friday (9-5-97) in Hillcrest Nursing Center, Grove City, following an extended illness. He was 70.
Mr. Hedglin was born Aug. 28, 1927, in Springfield Township to Hiram H. and Marie Winrey Hedglin.
He retired in 1985 from the maintenance department of the former Sharon Steel Corp.
He was a Protestant.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6345, Mercer; Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1895, Grove City; and Springfield Beagle Club and American Legion Post 584, both Springfield Township.
He was also an avid sportsman.
Surviving, besides his wife, the former Virginia Surrena, whom he married Nov. 11, 1986, are: a daughter, Jodi Lukacs, Atlanta; a stepdaughter, Karen Spence, Grove City; three stepsons, Donald Kuhns, Springfield Township; Douglas Surrena, Sandy Lake; and James Surrena, Grove City; three sisters, Jennie Bowden, Warren, Ohio; Esther Smith, New Castle; and Georgia Cameron, New Wilmington; two brothers, Robert Hedglin, New Castle; and Glenn Hedglin, Greenville; two grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; and a stepgreat-grandson.
Memorial contributions may be made to Barnstone Ministries, Box 636 Evergreen Road, New Bedford, Pa. 16140.

Beauty salon worker was Harrisville U.M. member
Joyce M. Sherych, Orchard Manor, Pine Township, formerly of College View Towers, Grove City, and Harrisville, died at 8:05 a.m. Saturday (9-6-97) in the home. She was 55.
Mrs. Sherych was born May 4, 1942, in Harrisville to Dallas J. and Eudora P. Stallsmith VanDyke.
She was a 1959 graduate of Moniteau High School and a graduate of New Castle Beauty Academy.
She had been employed in the beauty salon of the former Troutman's in Butler.
She was a member of Harrisville United Methodist Church.
Surviving are: her parents, Harrisville; a sister, Mrs. Fred R. (Marilyn G.) Knight, Cortland, Ohio; and a brother, Ronald D. VanDyke, Harrisville.
